    Hi!

I tried using the Dragon’s Dogma profile but it doesn’t work. I believe it’s bc DD is in DX9, whereas this game is DX11.

Hope to see a fix for this!

For Rise of the Tomb Raider please make sure that it’s set to DirectX 11, vorpX does not support DX12. Same for Dragon Age Inquisition which you might have set to use AMDs Mantle in case you use an AMD card.

If you are sure the games are set to DX11 mode and happen to have the Windows system restore functionality enabled, try to go back to a system restore point from before the issue started to occur.

Howdy! I just recently tried Rise of the Tomb Raider, Dragon age inquisition, and Splinter Cell: Blacklist. and all of these have failed.

Without Vorpx using gtx 1070 I get like 150fps no vsync

In Vorpx, depending on view, it drops to 18fps but whats troubling is neither my GPU nor my CPU are maxing out? See screenshot

In most cases it works with all versions, as with every rule there may be an exception here and there. The Mass Effect games as well as Dragon Age work fine with Steam and Origin, also with GOG (as far as available there).

Your third person questions are largely covered directly on the front page. “Optionally you now can play third person games, strategy games, sports games etc. on a huge virtual cinema screen.”

Rule of thumb: first person games default to “Full VR” mode, third person games default to “Immersive Screen Mode”.

You can switch any game to FullVR mode though if you want (might require additional FOV adjustment). Whether that makes sense is a matter of taste, personally I think that for third person games in most cases the immersive screen mode, which places you very close to a huge 3D screen so that it almost fills your entire view, is the best way to play. Doubly true for games like Mass Effect/Dragon Age that require frequent UI/menu interactions. That way you are almost ‘inside the game’, but UI/menus can still be easily used normally.

Controller wise you can use mouse and keybord, a gamepad or your VR cotrollers, which vorpX can map to either mouse+kb or gamepad controls. For many games vorpX adjusts the important settings like resolution and FOV automatically these days. vorpX does not change the gameplay, that is beyond its scope.

    Greetings.

I have recently discovered the existance of this driver, and i am wondering a few things:

    1) Will games, and especially third person games, be played seated? Or will they be full room, no matter what?
    2) How will third person games be handled? Did you mod in a first person camera? Will they be played with mouse and keyboard (or controller), or with the Head device controllers? I am thinking, mostly, about mass effect and dragon age, at this time: what can you tell me about those in vr? Worthy or not?
    3) How hard will it be to config games, and how to do that? From in game menu, or from .ini tinkering?
    4) Is compatible games’ gameplay modified in any way, or is it the same old one?
    5) Is there an in-game video to see how it’s gonna look like?

    Thanks for the answers!

It might have been another Dragons Age title. Is there one missing?

@Ralf I’d love to retire that accursed list. Any word on something better to replace it?

i also tried playing dragon age origins with vorpx, steam version and the game keep starting and closing forever, it just goes to the first splashing logo screen then close and restart endlessly.

    Hi,

I have issues with getting Dragon Age Origins to run. I have the Ultimate Steam version and I receive this error message:

“An error occurred while updating Dragon Age: Origins – Ultimate Edition (app running)”

Other games are working, no mods are installed (did a clean install before posting to this forum)

No, works great with EE on the Q4 profile. Text is readable, they added scaling so the UI is just fine. The UI and rendering enhancements really make it worthwhile even if you’re sniffy about “enhanced editions” or pissy about 2 lines in Dragonspear. They’ll open up the UI for modifications later this year so there should be even more improvements. Mainly I need to shift the dialogue to the center of the screen, it’s annoying looking to the left all the time. A first person camera mode for exploration would be nice as well, I vaguely recall some old camerahack mods for that but if they revisit the camera for this, we could do better.

Great to know you managed to make it hook on the older edition tho! Maybe I had my permissions wrong or something, I tried many times since openGL support was added and never got results.

I have on earlier builds. Works alright. One of the Z3D modes appeared to be doing the job. It’s the same engine as Dragon Age Inquisition, which looks amazing.

Okay thanks for the response 1440×1080 is the only one I could test in the control panel that seemed to work and that I could add. I’m on a 4k tv as a monitor ill mess around with it some more after work today.

Again kudos with this update I have plenty of VR to play around with now so no worries on looking into the blood dragon issue in particular take your time and enjoy the holidays!
