    You can keep the license when you uninstall. The uninstaller asks whether you want to remove it. Also your key stays valid unless you reinstall Windows or change hardware. So if you remove it inadvertantly, you can just use the one you got earlier.

    BTW: Just double checked whether there might be an issue with the latest version, but here everything looks normal. On an i7 CPU usage is barely noticable. On an i5 it would probably look a bit higher due to missing hyper threading but should be nowhere near 25% normally. I would expect about 2-3% at full clock speed and max. 10% or so while the CPU is idling clocked down. Considering your earlier issue with Defender, which shouldn’t have occured in the first place, there probably is something odd happening on your system.

    No other security on this local machine, windows defender had flagged vorpx as a trojan (I’ve read that this is due to its hooking nature) so perhaps its flagged the offending files and somehow modified them or access to them? It had neglected to notify me that it had found anything though!

    Can’t think of anything else unless apps like Dropbox might behave in the same manner?

    If I uninstall and reinstall vorpx, do I need to jump through any hoops with regards to licensing?

    edit: could the logitech game software that switches profiles based on the executable running be affecting it?

    25% sounds very high indeed. If you ahve any other software running that potentially might monitor other processes similar to AV software, try to disable that.

    vorpControl uses a certain amount of CPU cycles though while seemingly doing nothing since it constantly checks for newly started programs in very short intervals. However, as soon as a game gets hooked that stops, so it’s not a big deal. Doesn’t interfere with your gaming performance. If you can’t find the culprit, just make sure to not leave vorpX running while you don’t use it.

    Thanks for the response, unfortunately it hangs in that state, I’ve waited 10-15 mins and it’s still in the state.

    I had already checked the virus definitions and it said it was done 30/12/18 so should be latest; I’ll try to run a manual windows update and see if it changes anything.

    I’ll exclude the folder in windows defender and report back.

    Hi,
    Just picked up a rift DK2 for very little along with a copy of vorpx to make best use of it; for the most part it’s working great but I’m having the following issue.

    As soon as I start up vorpx, windows defender grabs hold of it and rags my cpu for 25-30% before I’ve even started anything else up!
    I’m presuming that it’s the antivirus/malware trying to work out what vorpx is doing but as you can imagine it makes the more cpu intensive games run slow which buggers up the vr. For example alien isolation runs butter smooth, fallout4 not so much.

    Rough machine specs are i5 2500k@4.6ghz / gtx780 / 16gb 2300mhz ddr3 / win10 pro.

    Any thoughts?
    Cheers

    unfortunately that did not help. I’m pretty confident it was a software update on my pc that caused the issue since it started after i finally let windows update do its thing.

    But as for finding out which exact process / service is causing it, i’m at a loss on how to approach it, disabling everything one by one until it work just takes way too much time to do everytime something like this happen.

    Theres bound to be some log or debug output that can be used to reduce the possibilities isnt there ?

    @ dlrjajdlfo: There is no option currently to recenter vertically for watching movies while lying in bed, sorry. One of those things on the nice to have feature list.

    Once there is an official profile for a game prior user profiles can’t be used anymore unless you rename the game’s .exe. That might look like an unnecessary restriction to you, but ease of use and a lower chance to mess things up for less experieced users had to ranked higher in this regard than total freedom for pro users.

    BTW: You can trust me when I say that you don’t want to use any other profile for Far Cry Primal than the official one. Neither has a potential user profile DirectVR support nor any shader fixes (provided it supports G3D at all).

    New Profile + Guide for SWAT 4: Gold Edition in G3D + Full VR or Immersive/Cinema Mode (your preference)

    After several hours of tinkering, I finally managed to get this beauty of a tactical game working with VorpX with a G3D profile. To get this working, I’ve included the following mini guide.

    1.) Have a fresh install of the game. I already had the following graphical mod installed and based on what I understand, this should not be a requirement. But if interested, here is the link.

    Graphical Enhancement Mod

    2.) The following mod (Swat 4 Elite) is not a must but very strongly recommended for some useful gameplay and VR reasons

    – FOV Slider
    – Ironsights which can be used in conjuction with the one eye feature in VorpX
    – For disabling Crosshair (useless in VR for this game anyway)
    – Integrate the Stetchkov Syndicate DLC
    – A bunch of other things, you can read up on it

    Downloads

    SWAT 4 Elite Mod – Main Files

    SWAT 4 Elite Mod – Patch Files

    One important thing to note, this mod simply has a folder -> SEF and gets copied into the main SWAT IV directory. Combine the main mod file and patch (overwrite any files over main) before you copy the SEF folder to the main game directory. Nothing should be overwritten in your game install and don’t do this! If you overwrite anything there, you will have to re-install the main game. This is a very simple install and does not overwrite anything from your main install.

    3.) Once the mod is installed, run the game first time without VorpX and make the following game settings.You must launch the game using LaunchSEF.bat which can be found

    Your Game Main Folder\SEF\LaunchSEF.bat

    – Set your resolution (I am using a custom resolution 3200 x 2400 which has turn out to be a nice balance for graphic fidelity, text legibility and performance. See notes later in guide about other custom resolutions. Most defaults are already set for 16:9 or widescreen.
    – Must disable Glow Detail
    – Must disable Bump Map Detail
    – Must Hide Crosshair – Check
    – Max out the FOV Slider included in the mod, avoids having to use DirectVR which works but finnicky and doesn’t always work. Using the FOV slider is a more permanent solution, hence the mod.
    – Hide Weapon is optional but I prefer it. Hiding weapon allows for stronger 3D strength and experimentation.
    – Modify your keyboard commands and rebind any that conflicts with your VorpX hot keys. Mainly middle mouse button for me.

    4.) Download my profile from the cloud and you should then be good to go. You must launch the game using LaunchSEF.bat which can be found

    Your Game Main Folder\SEF\LaunchSEF.bat

    My VorpX settings have been carefully made. Obviouly you can adjust anything within Vorpx as you see fit. The height modifier is set to 0 but I actually set it to 0.4 during gameplay and when I am ready to quit I put it back to 0 for main menu. This can impact the viewport so be mindful of this. You’ll see what I mean.

    About Resolutions: You can edit the SwatGuiState.ini for custom resolutions which can be found at this file path

    Your Game Main Folder\SEF\System\SwatGuiState.ini

    You’ll see a set of resolutions that resemble something like mine listed below. Once you make a list like this to include your own. Only change resolutions outside of VorpX or the game will lock up. But once you got your resolution set, you are good to go.

    ScreenResolutionChoices=800×600
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1024×576
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1024×768
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1152×648
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1152×864
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1280×720
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1280×768
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1280×800
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1280×960
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1280×1024
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1360×768
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1366×768
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1440×900
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1600×900
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1600×1024
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1600×1200
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1680×1050
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1920×1080
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1920×1200
    ScreenResolutionChoices=2560×1440
    ScreenResolutionChoices=3200X1800
    ScreenResolutionChoices=3200X2400
    ScreenResolutionChoices=3360X2520
    ScreenResolutionChoices=3840×2160
    ScreenResolutionChoices=3840×2880
    ScreenResolutionChoices=4320×2340
    ScreenResolutionChoices=4800×2700

    Final notes: This game is complex and believe me, you will need your keyboard! I use a Logitech G13. Between this and my Logitech game mouse re-programmed, I can operate this game without having to look at my keyboard. There a few caveats that do come with this. When using grenades, turn your head since the screen may become blinding but does dissipate after a few seconds. Also, some of the skyboxes are incorrect, no shaders or authoring can be accessed to deal with them. Edgepeek is a requirement for commanding your blue + red teams and other aspects of game elements such as the view ports. Once a command is issued, simpy get out of edgepeek and watch the action. Really cool stuff. I never get bored of setting off a C2 charge! Thankfully any of the caveats that you encounter are not game breaking. In fact, this really a cool way to play this tactical game. If I come across anything else that is useful, I’ll edit this post. Also, suggestions are always welcomed.

    Have fun!

    I haven’t seen any recent changes in the desktop viewer so i can only assume the problem is on my side.

    I’m currently stuck with the desktop viewer constantly closing and reopening in loop
    even after a fresh reboot.

    I could not find anything useful in AppData\Local\Temp\vorpx.log

    is there any other way to get information on what could be the problem ?

    Theres been no hardware changes on the pc so i’m pretty sure its some software update thats messing with it, but with no way to find out which it could be short of killing every single services one at a time im a bit at a loss.

    May be thats an openGL issue, i remember Unreal Tournament behaving similar. Another thing you can do check the VorpX HUD Settings and give the 3 sliders different values. If you can rename the executable of the game, do that, then try different Quake profiles , also try the Descent 2 and Star Wars: Jedi Knight II – Jedi Outcast profile with the game.

    Hi Guys,

    Im trying to play SW battlefront II in full vr but the screen is just not right. Its so big that i cant see whats in the upper and lower corners. I can zoom out FOV but it looks terrible.
    I loaded the default profile . Is it the resolution or what?
    I thought i just needed to load the profile and thats it. Am i missing something?
    Im using the oculus rift.

    Thanks

    So I tried different things out and none worked. The binding of the fov didnt work and the zooming fix in 1-2-3 game setup works, but the scaling of the world is really off. Still seems very zoomed in.
    Sorry to say it, but how can Black ops be on the supported list?? Yes, vorpx hooks, but nothing more seems to work.
    Every cutscene is gone and you can´t see the menus.
    I think Black Ops needs a little work :)

    Are there any other Call Of Duty game that supports DirectVR?
    Or any of the Titanfall games that supports DirectVR?

    Should cod bo come with a direct vr option?? There is none. Everything looks very zoomed in and headtracking is all over the place.
    And you can´t see the menu screen in front of you, so its very hard to start a new game.

    I dont have a CV1 option. I already tried changing from steam VR to occulous though. It still doesnt work.

    BUT, the Vorpx will not pause or disable. There no option available. If I right click it, it only says “start vorpx” If I left click, it says its already running. I cant start anything in occulous now. It automatically opens in a vorpx window. I have checked the quickstart guide too, BTW.
