    HITMAN 2 (G3D/Z3D)

G3D cinema works about the same in game 2 (with minor NPC halos) but has a slight focus stutter blur thing going on that I could not figure out. So again, I may prefer the Z3D alternative, but G3D is still good once accustomed. Both now on the cloud for Rift and Pimax4k. Pick your poison.

    – set Exclusive Fullscreen for 3D to work
    – use a 16:9 resolution (1920×1080)

*Disable shadows with G3D Shadow Treatment
*Tested shaders on Demo missions only so far

In my eyes sooner or later everyone who has an Oculus, Vive ect. will come across VorpX. One thing that many people are obviously confused about is the difference beetween real 3D and fake 3D. People just dont know the difference when they are new to VR. Everyone i know who has experienced his favorite game in “G3D”, swears on VorpX. No other software can provide real 3D for so many games. Others say, but they dont, only fake 3D. The inofficial list will reach 500 G3D games in a few days. That will be hard to beat. I havent counted them through yet , but i think the Nvidia 3D Vision profile list only counts 600, and Nvidia has a huge staff. PS: Havent played a game with 3D Vision since i own VorpX. The immersion with VorpX even on an older game beats anything else.

Well, that vanished when I edited so take 2….

Hi again, I’ve had a chance to sit down and have more of a play with this.
Yesterday a new GFX driver popped up so after installing it I tried again to see if that changes anything.
Nope, still crashed as soon as I loaded into a game or started a new one.

So I uninstalled skyrim from Steam and then tracked down and deleted all of the mod files still floating around plus the save/settings data folder in My Docs.

I then re-installed Skyrim from Steam, with even the official high res pack disabled and cloud saves disabled to prevent anything being added that could cause an issue.

I launched Skyrim again with completely stock Skyrim and am still running into this same problem.
The game will load the menu screen and even the loading screens, but will then CTD within about 1/2 a second of loading a new game – but only with VorpX running.

The only additional thing I have noted is that Skyrim is now giving a framerate warning and running at 30 FPS roughly.
I’ve never had frame rate issues previously in VorpX even with the mods I had been running previously all active – and again the FPS is only limited by Vsync with Vorp turned off.

This is running Win10 Pro (legit and upto date).
    Intel I7-4790K
    16Gb RAM,
    Nvidia 1070GTX GFX card
    Oculus Rift retail version.
Win10 runs off an SSD, moving Skyrim around the installed HDDs makes no difference.
I’m not running an ENB as I couldn’t get them to inject correctly in the first place, even back when Skyrim still ran.

This PC is dual boot so assuming my activation Key will work again to install Vorp on the other partition, I can test this in Win 7 if required – although as the Rift doesn’t like 7 much I’ve never tried running VorpX on that install and am not sure there’s any purpose in doing this..

If you could take a deeper look at this that would be appreciated, Going back to 2D skyrim isn’t really something I want to do!

    Hi.
I purchased Vorpx a couple of days ago and have only tried to install after
asking if it is ok, to install VorpX before the Oculus Rift and it’s
    software is installed.

The install of VorpX seems to go without problems, but at the end of the
process where it asks if you want to run it now. I clicked to run it and
nothing seems to happen (nothing comes up on screen and therefore i get
    no registration prompt.

Thank you for your kind support.

You can simply start your game from whatever client it is based on. If SteamVR isn’t running already, it launches automatically.

You just have to make sure that vorpX is running fefore launching your game.

Everything works just like before with your Oculus, the only difference is SteamVR instead of the Oculus software.

I tried the original profile, but nothing works well so far with geometry 3d or not. Does anyone have tips on settings good for this game. My PC spec is Intel 8800 with 1080ti. My god is always low as well. Thanks

I’m unaware of a no Steam version of the game, but please make sure that the “Don’t optimize game settings” in the vorpX config app is NOT checked. Normally vorpX adjusts everything automatically, no need for any shortcut workarounds.

If the no Steam version is something legit, please let me know where to purchase it and I’ll check whether something might be different for this version.

I saw your other post, no need to post twice. Can’t say anything useful at this point, sounds definitely not correct. Please check whether it’s maybe related to graphics settings in the game (e.g. HDR rendering).

I’ll check the game with a WMR headset before the next update to see whether it might be a WMR issue. That seems unlikely though.

vorpX tries to block various overlays (Steam, Origin, Uplay, GOG) as a precautionary measure since they might cause conflicts in some cases. Usually they don’t though. You can disable that in the config app (“General” page > “Misc.” > “Try to block known game overlays”).

Whenever you encounter issues with hooking into games after disabling this option, the first thing you should try is re-enabling it.

There is no recent video I’m aware of showing the game with DX11, but like most games these days it has full Geometry 3D support, which means that everything is rendered twice from two different angles similar to how 3D works in native apps.

Just in case: vorpX does not alter the gameplay in any way. It’s still an isometric top-down game with vorpX and best played in cinema mode.

    Hello!

I wonder if any good soul would help me with new experimental branch of 7 days to die. Alpha 17 is very good game and VR would only add to the experience.

I’m totally new to vorpx (managed to run a few games without much issues). For 7d2d I try tweaking the config but still it doesn’t feel exactly perfect. I managed to set the game resolution to 1920 x 1440 (4:3) and there is an easy way to set up any FoV you want by opening the console and typing:

    sg OptionsFieldOfView 95
    sg OptionsFieldOfViewNew 95

    (I tested values from 90 to 120)

The game looks really awesome, but something is a little bit off and the VR view is not perfect. I shared my profile for the game in the cloud…

Maybe someone could help me tweak it even further? Or maybe my expectations are a little bit too high? ;-)

The thing that doesn’t make sense to me is that the tracking works fine in cinema mode and the immersive screen mode, but when I go into full vr mode the mouse moves the same way as it does in the other two modes (look left mouse moves left but the camera / view moves to the right, etc.)

I tried using a different mouse, reinstalling vorpX, tried the running as admin setting, and switched around usb ports. Nothing fixed the problem.

My mouse is not inverted. I know its not any game settings, I even have this issue with the vorpX desktop viewer.

It has to be some setting in windows or something like that. The last thing I have left to try is have a fresh install of windows. I’ll try that in a couple days to see if that somehow fixes it.

The obvious thing first: the desktop viewer does not work on Windows 7.

If your system meets that requirement (likely), please create a trouble shoot data archive in the config app and send that to support |at| vorpx com. Maybe your logfiles it contain some useful information.

Hi, just to confirm this also seems to effect non-ENB Skyrim.
I have (had) a very stable install until the last update, I fired it up for the first time in ages today but couldn’t load anything – now it just crashes as soon as the save finishes loading or I launch a new game.
If VorpX is disabled it loads and runs fine on the monitor.
