vorpX adjusts the FOV (“zoomed in”) in the game’s ini file. After one or two restarts it should be OK, and stay that way. You should see a notification about that in the headset and on the game window when vorpX wants you to restart a game after auto-adjusting settings.

Caveat: like most games older than ~15 years Tron 2.0 stores settings in its install folder. You need write access to that folder, otherwise vorpX can’t change the settings automatically. If you installed it under C:\Program Files (x86) Windows per default disallows writing to the install folder. The easiest way to address this is to install the game on another drive.

Just in case: also make sure that you did not accidentally check the “Don’t optimize game settings” checkbox in the config app, otherwise vorpX would not be able to adjust the FOV.

Not sure about the FPS issue, sorry. Should run with stable 90fps on your machine if everything is OK. Some games get slow with antialiasing enabled, either in the game or forced in the graphics driver, so that’s something worth to check.

Last but not least: the profile only has been tested against the currently avaliable Steam and GOG versions of the game. It’s not impossible that an older CD-ROM version might not work correcly.

I truly enjoy 3rd person games as well, and there are many in VorpX already that work great. I’m super excited about the next update in the future as well, there are some great things coming. I hope you keep exploring the profiles already waiting to be enjoyed. Excelsior! Lol.

@dellrifter22, Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn’t work. I tried changing pretty much all those settings, to no avail. Looks like I’m just not meant to play this game. Its quite weird that those games work fine for you however, and not me. I wonder what it could be? We are using the same profile, so how could it not work?
I’ll give farcry a try again soon and let you know. But I played with it for about 2 hours a few months ago and nothing.

@Ralf, None of those settings helped the judder, and they were already set that way. I’ll continue to fiddle with it I guess when I get time. DE:MD might just not be in the cards for me I guess.

I’ll report back if I find anything new. Glad it still works for you Dellrifter, gives me hope.

Judder: please check whether you have made any changes to the sync options on the display page of the ingame menu. If so, revert them. Changing “Direct Mode GPU Sync” to anything else than “Safe” for example almost certainly causes judder in more demanding games. Same for turning off “Direct Mode Async Render” if the framerate falls below 45fps.

I cannot replicate your Mankeind Divided issue this time. The only recent change to the Mankind Divided profile has been made after you reported it not working last time. I switched it to the new z-buffer search method then, and you reported it working afterwards. No changes have been made since then.

First please reset the profile to its default settings in the config app and check whether the issue also appears with defaults for you. Most importantly please make sure that you didn’t disable Direct VR settings optimization. If the issue still appears with default settings, please send me a savegame to support |at| vorpx com. Maybe that helps to replicate your issue.

Before you do that, please double check whether you maybe have changed any game settings since you played last time or forced antialising on in your graphics driver control panel.

In general the rule still applies that unfortunately in some games that change the z-buffer texture frequently, which is the case here, tracking it might not always be reliable. If I can’t find anything, I’ll have to remove the profile this time. Too much time invested into it already considering that the game is not overly popular, sorry. Only didn’t do that last time because you asked not to do it.

Can’t really say anything in regard to Far Cry 5 apart from that it isn’t supported. That won’t change until there is a way to hook into the game without breaking its anticheat.

So since the last update, Mankind Divided no longer shows in 3D at all. I re-imported the profile, etc, but still nothing.
If this is a simple profile fix, any chance you could upload a new one for this?

    And a couple of observations:
    1) I’ve been noticing (sometime over the last 2 updates) that in cinema mode, there is a lot more screen judder when you move your head. I even upgraded to a 1080ti recently, and the judder is worse than ever. If I keep my head still, games are still very playable, but its weird because it was never there before. I think something in the last few updates caused this. Its not terrible, just noticable, and only on head movement. The framerates of the games seem great.

    2) Far cry 5 used to have 3d as well, and now does not. I know its not officially supported, but I thought I’d mention it in case it helps with your troubleshooting.

Oh, I forgot to mention that didn’t I, sorry about that.

Most games don’t seem to care, but some are picky. So testing fullscreen vs windowed, AA on vs off, and changing resolutions, are general things to try. A small taste of the endless testing of profiles to find ones that work 🙂 .

Glad it’s working again. Hitman profile needs to be attached to the Hitman.exe (not Launcher.exe), run in dx11 mode, and exclusive fullscreen.

So far I’ve only played the demo version, so let us know if full retail gives you further problems. Thanks.

No need to apologize! I should have thought of it too. It threw me off because I knew I hadn’t changed the setting prior to losing 3D, but then I remembered that it can sometimes “change itself” if you alt-tab out of a game, and I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what happened. Good thing to add to the general problem solving checklist …

Excellent profile, by the way! I keep meaning to compliment you on it. Hitman looks and runs great in full 3D, so your efforts are much appreciated.

I tried the things you suggested. Restored game settings. Factory reset everything. None of that helped. Hitman is still playing in 2D with vorpX. I’ve been a big defender of vorpX online but this is really getting frustrating.

EDIT: Figured it out!!!! God this has been maddening. I tried as an experiment to switch Hitman to “exclusive fullscreen.” I never changed this setting from whatever it had been but I did alt-tab out of the game once and that was around the time the problem started happening. I think when I alt-tabbed out of the game it changed the “exclusive fullscreen” setting to something else. That’s my guess anyway, because setting it to “exclusive fullscreen” brings back 3D with vorpX!

Sorry Ralf for thinking vorpx was the problem. Anyway, if you ever run into an issue like this with any game, remember to try changing the fullscreen settings. Now I have no time to actually play the game but at least I know how to make it work for next time …

Thanks to user dellrifter22, I was able to finally play Hitman with vorpx in G3D. It looked and played great. I decided to try dellrifter22’s other Hitman profile, which is in Z3D, just to compare the two.

I decided I liked the G3D profile better, so I went back to that. Only problem is … now there is no 3D at all with vorpx and Hitman. The image is completely flat. Why? All I did was try a different profile, then switch back. Why would that stop all 3D? I tried deleting both the g3D and z3d profiles and redownloaded and reinstalled the g3d profile and … same thing. No 3D!

How do I fix this, whatever it is?

showing stereoscopic effect. I have 3D strength set to max (5) and still no stereo. I also tried the other 2 Z and adaptive Z setting, still the same flatness. I have a feeling it must be something ovbious that I did not do right but couldn’t figure out what. Anyone here knows what causes this and how to make G3D or any D engaged for this game ? Thanks.

No problem on the server side. Also no other reports like this so far.

Check whether something is blocking the config app from accessing the internet. Might be an overzealous AV scanner, your firewall, your router, your ISP, or just some general network hiccup somewhere.

You could also try to delete the clouduser.ini file in C:\Program Files\Animation Labs\vorpX and login manually again. Just for the unlikely case that the .ini file is somehow corrupted.

vorpX works perfectly file without cloud profiles BTW. All official profiles are already stored locally.

    Shrek 2 (DGVoodoo2) – G3D

Shrek 1 has been released for the Xbox only, so the series for PC starts with Shrek 2 and DirecX 8.

    DGVoodoo2 required
    – copy game.exe to srk2.exe, if you run into a “general protection faul” error, make your settings with the game.exe first.
    – Force resolution to anything high with DGVoodoo2
    – Oprtimized for Cinema Mode, Full VR w. Headtracking can be used also
    – Profile availiable from the cloud

A VR HUD mod would be go down really well with this to make things a little friendlier and less frequent edgepeek mandatory. People are already making them with the client side files and it’s totally doable.

Got a few questions. On full VR mode as I move my head I have to keep resetting my view because it’ll keep sticking to the left or the right (if that makes any sense). Any fix to that?

Also, is there any way to play in edgepeak (zoomed) mode? I love being able to stand up and play and use my head to aim without the screen not sticking completely due to the borders. It’s just so blurry when you zoom in.

I’m kind of getting this VORPX thing, just needs some getting used to. dog fighting in Battlefront 2 is amazing and I just got Battlefield V working with the imported Battlefield 1 settings.

If I could just figure out how to play full vr, zoomed, without the blurriness instead of having to be zoomed out. Any input would be great!

Can’t really recommend anything besides switching the Touch controllers to gamepad mode. That will grant you either native X-Box gamepad support in games where vorpX doesn’t have to override the gamepad or channel the simulated gamepad through vorpX’s gamepad override.
