In reply to: How to avoid updating
prinyoParticipantI want to explain this further in order to avoid confusion.
Running a stable modded Skyrim requires lots of reading, experimenting and time. Any small change in the setup can have bigger consequences.
There are two important elements in the process:
1. You can take it step by step and activate/deactivate/update mods, tools, drivers one by one when you are ready to test them.
2. You can always disable one of them and/or revert to an older version that you are familiar with and/or know that it works. So you can choose to stick to an older version if it suits you better. This is valid for all tools and mods – even for the GPU drivers released by Nvidia, even for the Windows updates. Except VorpX – the update will come when it comes, regardless if you are ready to deal with it or not. Once it arrives there is no way to go back.
This complicates everything and makes the debugging/testing way harder. In my specific case right now – my previously perfectly running setup is now completely broken and unplayable. Is it because of the update? I have no idea. As far as I know the update is the only thing that changed in the mean time. But I have no way to test that as I have no way to clean revert to the previous version.
Even if the problem is somewhere else, reverting to the older version would help a lot. Because when you are looking for a component that is not working correctly you would want to know that all other parts of the system are working as expected.
Right now I’m facing an equation with too many unknowns and I don’t even know if I have the will and the energy to start solving it. Or simply abandon everything.I understand that the point of the update is to make the system as much plug and play as possible for the benefit of those who do not care to read and press a button or two, but it should not come with a price for those of us who have put a lot of effort in our setups and have been loyal customers and supporters for quite some time now.
An option to revert to the previous version – even temporarily, is extremely important. Please give us that option.

Dec 28, 2017 at 8:24am #169326In reply to: Still prefer Cinema mode over full VR
RalfKeymasterThat is how it is supposed to be, The auto-FOV for cinema mode ist not as high as the auto-FOV for full VR mode. You can apply a +/- 20° offset in the vorpX menu. If you want to achieve a different effect for your individal setup, disabling the auto-configuration is the way to go. You can then freely tweak game-FOV, resolution etc. like before.
The auto configuration however will not be changed, it is meant for those who like to just play and thus it changes settings in a way that avoids any need for tweaking at all as much as possible.

RalfKeymasterYes, trojan/virus messages with vorpX always are a false positive.
Probably due to vorpX injecting other program some AV-programs notoriously flag each new version as malicious when they do their apparently less than perfect guesswork.
Ideally please report the issue to your AV vendor as false positive so they can address the problem.
In the meantime please exclude the vorpX program folder from scanning if it allows you to do so.
If you use anything else than Windows Defender, consider to switch. While that isn’t a 100% guarantee for avoiding false vorpX positives (happened once there too so far), it’s a lot less likely than experiencing this with some of the more invasive AV programs like BitDefender, Kaspersky etc.

vrmaxParticipantTo be totally objective there are some advantages and disadvantages in each of them. Both have pros and cons.
Absolutely there are pros and cons to each. Which is why I think it would be great if it was possible to combine elements of each, and to hopefully do the same when Skyrim VR gets an official PC release.
Your post does bring up several good points of each of them.
To me I strongly prefer to use a normal controller as that is what I’m just used to, especially for a game like Fallout.
In my experience trying to give a game a more robust controller system actually limits what the game can accomplish.
Native Fallout4 VR, you can uncouple head / neck while walking, which is a bit more realistic in this sense, and allows you to look, fight, distract, with the environment a bit easier when you focus sideways along the way.
In the case of Vorpx, you always walk to the side where your eyesight focuses.Vorpx and Fallout 4 normal version, allows in addition to standard control xbox one / 360 e.t.c. , allows you to map buttons and stick for motion controllers like touch and Vive wands,
which allows a preferred advantage for me, to adjust smooth movement in the right control, this avoids the obligation to keep the stick pressed to simply rotate angles (CV1 touch and Xbox control).Fallout4 VR Native, allows full natural movement to aim with weapons during combat, watch the pitboy on your wrist, and small interactions with objects in the world. By contra Vorpx uses here the controls of static arms logically.
Vorpx and Fallout4 normal version, has arms and hands, which is pleasing to the eye and immersion.
We could continue to increase pros and cons, for each of them, for a long time, if you are a good observer.
In an almost perfect world, I would prefer to use the normal Fallout 4 version + DLC, with the official VR support files inside, which is possible and works after some steps (there is a method), but I still need some fixes that only Vorpx for the Moment contains, button and stick mapping completely to my liking and need, some arrangements for shader etc
If it were possible to obtain an option in the next Vorpx update, to mix Vorpx with the official support VR, the other normal modified with these files, and Vorpx being able to choose one or the other, would be just perfect, because it could take advantage of some control mappings with Cv1 + touch.
Good points all around.
End yes, I would also gladly pay for the official VR version of Fallout 4. Just not $60.

RalfKeymasterPlease make sure that the name line looks exactly as shown in the key e-mail.
It has to contain your name followed by the e-mail address in parantheses, exactly as shown in the mail.
Use COPY AND PASTE to avoid typos.
If that does not solve your issue (unlikely), please send us a screenshot of the license dialog after you pasted in the data.

RalfKeymasterENB mods hook into the rendering pipeline in a similar way that vorpX does, it’s quite likely that they cause issues. They may work with with the ENB injector (can be downloaded from the ENB website), but there is no guarantee for that. If in doubt, you shouldn’t use an ENB mod to avoid any potential conflict with vorpX.

TiggerdyretParticipantI’m playing Oblivion with Vorpx right now and haven’t been able to solve all of these issues.
I honestly don’t understand why the Oblivion Reloaded devs insist on keeping it all in one mod. If the mod had been 10 or more mods I’d endorse at least 5 of them :(Well, here are my recommended VR mods.
1. FOV modifier – To make the FOV consistent and not change every 2 minutes. You’ll only need to set it up once.
2. Dot Crosshair – Smaller crosshair
3. Darns UI – Smaller UI and Crosshair
3. Loot Menu – adds a FO4 style quick loot system, which is good for avoiding menus. You need to tweak it in the .ini that comes with the mod. I think you can tweak it while the game is loaded as long as you reload a save every time you’ve changed and saved the .ini.
4. Menu and camera toggler – To turn of UI with a button press.
5. Enhanced Camera – To add a body in first person.Nov 18, 2017 at 3:09pm #168153
deathorbParticipantOK so I take it Fallout 4 must be amazing by now. Is that correct? Do I need a mod to remove the crosshair – or does it auto distance itself?
I also wondered if Overwatch works with vorpx in geometry 3D – please avoid the usual “will it ban me online” post….
Also, why can’t I play Prey and many other games in real 3D? This z3d or whatever doesn’t look that good to me, what is the technical reason?
Any way after playing Divinity OS 2 for a while – I can’t wait to return to Vorpx.
Finally – Wolfenstein New Colossus – Will it run in real 3D?
Thanks for any replies!Nov 17, 2017 at 2:22am #168128
RalfKeymasterTo activate vorpX please follow the short instructions in the license dialog that is displayed when you start vorpX: send us an e-mail with the REQUEST CODE that is shown in the dialog.
To avoid potential delays please do this from the same mail address that you used for purchasing vorpX. It only takes a few minutes normally.

RalfKeymasterD3D11 only. Gets activated automatically to avoid any potential confusion. IIRC it’s not even possible to select D3D9 anymore in the Blizzard launcher.

KarlorParticipantI pulled IMPACT and RH Iron sights and the terrible lag went away. So somewhere in the Iron Sights mod is something that doesn’t play well with 3D. So might want to avoid using those few 2 or 3 mods together.
