    I figured out a fix. I added another FOV mod that goes up to 100 (90 looks perfect), then merge the two mods using the Script Merger tool. Now it’s full screen with no bars at all, great FOV, and almost no distortion (I’m still tweaking). Here are the mods I used…

    Field Of View Slider: https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/807

    Custom Localization Fix: https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/897/

    And Script Merger to fix any conflicts: https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/484/?

    In Game:
    Mouse Sensitivity = .55
    Exploration Zoom = 6.90
    Exploration Height = .75
    FOV = 75

    Vorpx:
    Full VR
    Head Tracking = .55
    Letter Box 2
    Zoom = .83

    @Nikoli,
    I followed your settings, but that gets me a distant window with black on all sided. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
    Also, it’s too bad the mod only goes to 75 FOV. 5(3 First Person Mod goes to 110. I wonder if it can be used along side this one.

    Just thought I’d drop my two cents for those wanting to run Witcher 3 in first person Full VR. I found the Immersive Cam mod to be a much better experience than the standard First Person mod. Simply position the camera in front of Geralt and make adjustments.

    Main benefits of using this mod:

    Unlike other first person mods, positioning the camera into a first person perspective with Immersive Cam decouples your head tracking from Geralt. This allows you to strafe, backpedal, and run without having the camera spinning out of your control.

    Allows a lot of flexibility in setting camera positions to bounce between first and third person. I currently set the camera in a first person perspective to explore. I can then manually zoom out into 3rd person by using my Witcher Sense if I need to check my surroundings. Entering combat is also set to automatically take me into 3rd person. There is enough zoom provided with third person that I don’t feel the need to jump into the Vorpx menu to switch out of Full VR mode once in combat. It helps to keep the whole experience fluid. Can easily use edge peek for everything else (menus & cut scenes).

    Allows FOV up to 75. While not as much as some mods I find to be enough when adjusting the Vorpx Letter Box/zoom.

    Maybe not the most ideal but hopefully it helps. For a starting point, my current settings are below. Adjust to fit your set up and taste!

    In Game:
    Mouse Sensitivity = .55
    Exploration Zoom = 6.90
    Exploration Height = .75
    FOV = 75

    Vorpx:
    Full VR
    Head Tracking = .55
    Letter Box 2
    Zoom = .83

    The FOV is fine. The problem is head tracking. With the vorpx profile, the head barely moves. I got it to work by maxing mouse sensitivity under game options (vorpx in-game settings head tracking sensitivity had no effect). But because of Witcher 3’s terrible control scheme (or so I’m assuming), turning your head too far left or eight sends you twirling in a pirouette.

    Normally, at this point, I’d just give up, blaming their crap controls — if it weren’t for the video linked below, where a guy plays Witcher 3 with the mod, a rift, and 2016 vorpx, and somehow has head tracking without any uncontrollable spinning.. Any idea how this can be done?

    Thanks for that link. I’m going to try the Witcher 3 profile as soon as I get time. Which (unfortunately) might be weeks away, but I’ll get to it eventually.

    Gotta try it with FO4 too at some point.

    Probably no way to get that to work Top and Bottom mode, is there? For some reason my display looks much better in Top and Bottom mode instead of Side by Side.

    A strange issue started after 1-2 weeks of playing The Witcher in VorpX. I was fighting necrophages in the cemetery in Vizima and suddenly the RiftS screen became black (with sound still going). At the same time i heard the fans of the graphics card spinning up to 100%. My desktop monitor was off (no signal from the card), but the PC and my LED keyboard were still on. I had to shut down the PC, to get it under control again.

    I had this issue many times since, and it happens unpredictably (sometimes after 5min, sometimes after more than an hour of playing, etc). I’m trying to figure out if it’s a hardware problem or a software problem. Thing is, i haven’t changed anything hardware-wise all this time, and the playing setup is quite complex with all the software running.

    What i gathered after a week of testing:
    – it does not happen when playing the game on my desktop monitor
    – it’s not a thermal issue (max is 68°C) – when playing with VorpX, the fans hardly speed up
    – it’s not the graphics driver (i tested 3 releases)
    – it can’t be a faulty graphics card, i did some torture tests without issue

    I’m hoping that someone has maybe an idea what these symptoms could mean. Any little help could nudge me in the right troubleshooting direction.

    Yes, this is the mod everyone should use. It gives it first person and can also change the FOV…

    I just need to find the right vorpx settings to activate head tracking and fix the keyboard movement controls. If I figure it out, I’ll upload a first person profile.

    I just bought Witcher 3 on sale for 12 bucks in the hopes of playing in full VR with the first person mod. But it seems the super complicated control scheme for the game makes it almost impossible to control in full VR. If it were a simple WASD layout, it would work great. But third person games always have over complicated controls.

    It just occurred to me that the vorpx profile for Witcher 3 is to play in immersive mode, which is why headtracking and movement don’t work out of the box. Does anyone have a profile for this game in Fukl VR mode? Or some tips in how to change the in ga,e vorpx settings to make it so?

    I have a feeling I’ll be using this quite bit in the future. I’ll give it a whirl with the Witcher 3 when I get time. Even with the Pimax 5K + HMD I now have, my old 1080p Sony Playstation 3D display in Above/Below mode is still much sharper, and hopefully I’ll be building another 3D home-theater soon using a 3D 1080p projector (historically I did my stereoscopic gaming on a 720p 3D projector using frame-packing mode, so very sharp and I only needed to drive games at 720p to be able to play them without at native resolution without any scaling – I put a lot of thought into that setup and it worked very well). Considering that so many games I enjoy really won’t translate well anyway to VR, it will be nice to continue to have the option to use my traditional displays.

    Yes, it builds the 3D scene using the in-game depth-maps, similar to TriDef “Power 3D” etc. So it does create the same types of halos/distortion as all other similar 3D methods. But, it’s really pretty darn good overall, with a lot of settings and can provide pretty darn good results in many cases. The lack of a performance hit is also great (running FO4 (even with uGrids set to 7), the Witcher 3, MEA, etc. at 2560×1440 on any reasonably modern card is easy, for example.)

    If HUD interface objects have been assigned to the G3D HUD layer by the profile creator (usually always the case with official profiles), you should be able to control both size and depth of the interface.

    Open vorpX delete menu and arrow over to the image settings page. You should see 3 HUD related sliders below. Adjust depth as desired.

    I haven’t tried Witcher 1 myself, but see if this works for you.

    I’m currently playing The Witcher (and it works practically perfectly, i’m very happy).

    Though, there are some little things that can be annoying. The worst offender is the subtitles and quest related messages, which seem to have the wrong depth and are practically unreadable (with one eye closed i can read, but slower, and it’s tiring :)

    Is it possible to fix this interface element without breaking something else (text messages inside the interface/menus are readable, strangely). And which setting would control this?

    I’m currently playing The Witcher in VorpX in Immersive Screen mode (and the immersion is breathtaking!).

    As i’m playing standing, i’m getting a bit tired sometimes, and would like to sit down. I don’t think i see a setting in the VorpX menu for adjusting the screen height. Have i missed it, or is there none? Do i need to restart the game/vorpX every time i want to change from sitting to standing and vice versa?

    Man, i hope that these issues get fixed soon. I’d love to play AC: Origins in Z3D.
    (Currently playing The Witcher EE, and loving the experience.)
