Hi Ralph, yes, it crashes with that workaround. For some reason Desktop Viewer crashes. Same in Witcher 3.

I am using 1080, but I haven’t been able to run many games on vorpx. Witcher 3 and Star Citizen both crash for me. Performance in steam VR games and Oculus Home games though is solid 90 fps all the time. I am gonna try some more games tonight through VorpX, play with resolutions etc.

Anyone here tried Witcher 3 on CV1? How well were you able to get it to work? Did you use any specific mods, can you share your vorpx settings? I am finding very little information about Witcher 3 and vorpx, for some reason. If I try to run it with vorpx it just crashes, won’t even work. If I pause vorpx, run the game, then enable vorpx and run desktop viewer, desktop viewer crashes similarly to “star citizen”. Any recommendations, ideas, working profiles would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advance!

Please check whether there are any remnants of 0.8 on your system. Make sure to uninstall it completely and do not use a runtime switcher.

The call to initialize the Oculus runtime fails with error -3001 (Couldn’t load LibOVRRT), which means that something is not as it should in regard to your runtime install.

They need to update Vorpx to support latest Witcher 3. I think the latest expansion (Blood and Wine) changed something and Vorpx won’t hook any longer. It simply crashes in my case. I use Oculus CV1 though.

I can’t get this game to hook. I get audio and a black screen. I’ve read everything on the other forum for games not working on htc vive. I’ve had other games hook just fine. I’ve tried with steamvr both on and off. Antivirus and firewall turned off and no other ingame stuff or chat.

u got gta 5 to work with the latest oculus runtime and vorpx update it seems if u use the runtime switcher to go back to runtime 8 is the only way but vorpx only will use runtime 1.3 currently praise Jesus

Cinema mode for Witcher 3 is pretty bad. Everything seems to be very close to your eyes… 3D mode is even worse. Since its not a first person game the aspect of camera rotates from the point of Garrett, even worse than Cinema mode.

Star Citizen crashes, so it won’t work with VorpX and CV1 for a while prolly. The Witcher 3, for me at least, just runs in 2D on a big screen, instead of 3D, even though it is on supported games list.

    Hello,
i tried GTA V and The Witcher 3 – Both have sound (via Vive output), but the Vive keeps showing grey and the window on the computer keeps black.

I’ve Windows 10 with SteamVR and the latest Nvidia drivers.

I hope anyone can help me out.

    Good day & thanks.

Does anyone have step by step instructions for some games? I tried searching the forum and only come up with some old stuff for DK2, and I have the CV1.
Alien Isolation, and Left 4 Dead 2, both give me super zoomed-in menus where I can’t see anything properly.
Then, once I got into A:I the motion was reversed. I move my head left, screen goes right. Then, the height is all weird.
I thought this $40 purchase was touted as the “plug and play” version of this kind of software…. what happened?
I would think that each game would already have a sticky, where people can go and just follow the steps. Or a wiki or something.
Anyway, please share some got simple, step-by-step instructions for Left 4 Dead 2, Alien Isolation, Witcher 3, Star Citizen, Assetto Corsa, Dirt Rally, Project Cars, Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Dear Esther.

    Thank you!

Witcher 3 probably defaults to cinema mode because it is 3rd person game.

Push Delete key in game to open the vorpX menu. Turn Cinema mode to off if you want to play fullVR. There is also the option to change/disable 3D also. You’ll probably want to keep in on Z-Normal for best results.

    handy hotkeys:

Delete to open and close menu
    Mousewheel click to edgepeek/zoom out
    Alt+Spacebar to recenter screen
    Alt+F to display frame rate
