Thief 2014, GTA 5 and Fallout 4 wont launch.

windows 10 version 1709 16299.248Hi,
I’ve never gotten the old-school Thief games to work with proper headtracking. The headtracking sensitivity is always too low, even when set to maximum. Increasing the game mouse sensitivity works somewhat, but makes the headtracking very jittery (since I assume it’s skipping more pixels with every head track). Also, whenever I open the VorpX in-game configurator, the head tracking starts to work perfectly (in the background), expect I now have the VorpX menu blocking my view. Hiding the menu makes the head tracking slow again.
Any advice for this? This has not changed between VorpX versions, and I don’t have this problem with any other VorpX game.
Topic: Tron 2.0/Thief 2014
Just tried Tron 2.0 and no problem with hooking Vorpx. This game has a massive potential due to the style of graphics and nature of the game. The graphics look extremely clean in my rift. Also using a resolution of 3840 x 2880 4:3 ratio and looks great! But it is too bad that there is a serious issue with the hand and disc model. They are so dam large and a custom FOV or an increase of 3D strength cannot help on this one….this seems to be a inherent issue with games made using the Lithtech engine….does anyone know of a console command or mod that can remove the hand/weapon model? I would love to play this game without those obnoxiously large hand/weapon models. I would be happy with just a basic cross hair or dot. This game just screams potential for an immersive experience. Unfortunately, the hand/disc is so dam large which also make it appear that hand/disc is at my feet. Ruins the experience :-(
This is not a Vorpx issue but perhaps a mod or console command can help, thought I check if anyone has an ideas…..
P.S. Set up Thief 2014 with custom FOV and some ini tweaks to clean up the graphics. I prefer the 16:9 ratio on this one. Using a resolution of 3840×2160 and have to say that although the game is not that good, the immersion with this set up is quite good. I’ve had a pretty good play through of the first couple of levels. Very good in VR with the first person animations, lock picking, stealing, knocking out guards etc….pretty good Vorpx experience on this one.
Hello everyone, i’m a college student from Italy and since 1 year i’m partecipating to a medical research about treatments through virtual reality. The virtual enviroments we use are developed a lot time ago by a San Diego studio using Unreal Engine 2. We have new enviroments in developing by UE4, finally with native VR supporting, but in meantime wanna start a new trial using the old UE2 enviroments with an Oculus Rift DK2.
So we bought vorpX and tried it successfully with Fallout 4, but the UE2 didn’t work; the enviroment start normally, but vorpX didn’t hook it. I tried to optimize settings for Thief Gold, which use the same engine, but vorpX didn’t recognize the path of the folder of the UE2. And that’s all.
There’s hope to make it run? I’ll attach a screen of the installation folder of enviroments if @Ralf or someone of you could find some useful hints. Thanks all guys!
Topic: The Dark Mod Setup guide
For anyone interested, I wrote a setup guide on The Dark Mod forums for getting the game running with Vorpx: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/17501-oculus-rift-the-dark-mod-vorpx/
If you’re not aware, TDM is an extension of the Thief modding community. Specifically, it’s a Doom 3 total conversion mod that has gone standalone and is completely free. It’s a 1st person stealth game heavily inspired by Looking Glass Studios original Thief games. The game consists of fan-made missions, of which I believe there are over 100.

all in the title.
Topic: Thief Gold, no 3D
I tried Thief Gold Steam with the latest TFix patch. Only Z3D is available and only the HUD has some depth. How to get depth in the scene? Is it possible?
Topic: Background Bug
This may be a bug with the new update: there appears to be no difference between “Ambiance” & “None” when setting the edge peek background. The “none” option works well when using one of the letterbox settings in a dark game like Thief & while I can change the setting in the vorpx menu, the change does not take effect.
