Can vorpx work if I launch titanfall 2 from withing the origin launcher? Having trouble linking vopx and titanfall2. Using the latest vorpx 19.1
I cant seem to get vorpx to link to titanfall2. I have a rift and many other programs work just great. When I run titanfall2 it closes after a few seconds and takes me back to oculus home. Any ideas?
@haints: Installed Titanfall 2 tonight and it’s working great! Being Source engine based, the G3D is as clean as it gets and runs smooth.
I don’t know if the profile’s been updated or not, but I didn’t encounter any depth issues with oculus rift. I did image zoom out about 0.62 and use 0.40 FOV Enhancement to distance the guns away from my face a bit. But 3D was spot on. I can upload my settings if you have further trouble.
The first Titan mission was pretty badass in vr. This is gonna be a fun one. For anyone here who hasn’t picked it up yet, go grab it for $5 while you can. Well worth it.
A couple of these games are deep discount on Origin now through Jan29th. Mass Effect Andromeda and Star Wars Battlefront 2 are each under $5.
Same goes for Dragon Age Inquisition, Titanfall 2, and most of the Battlefield games
Is there a new profile for Titanfall 2? The original was pretty bad–no depth at all between your gun and the background, for instance–if this got fixed I’d be psyched to play it.

Good timing for profile updates, thanks Ralf. Finally off work, time to play 😁
So I tried different things out and none worked. The binding of the fov didnt work and the zooming fix in 1-2-3 game setup works, but the scaling of the world is really off. Still seems very zoomed in.
Sorry to say it, but how can Black ops be on the supported list?? Yes, vorpx hooks, but nothing more seems to work.
Every cutscene is gone and you can´t see the menus.
I think Black Ops needs a little work :)
Are there any other Call Of Duty game that supports DirectVR?
Or any of the Titanfall games that supports DirectVR?
If you are new to vorpX, you probably want to hop right into the action instead of learning how to configure vorpX. The list below contains first person games that work with litlle to no configuration in ‘Full VR’ due to vorpX’s DirectVR functionality, which can configure important things like field of view, head tracking or resolution automatically.
For third person games that are usually played best in immersive screen or cinema mode not much configuration is required in general, so this list focuses on first person ‘Full VR’ games that can be a little harder to configure without DirectVR.
If you are stuck, make sure to check the ‘Essential Hints Guide’ and the ‘Quick Reference’ in the help. They help you understand a few basic concepts.

It’s one of the games that render the gun model with an FOV a lot lower than the FOV used to render the world. FPS games often do this to make the gun look good on the monitor, for VR however it’s less than ideal. In some games this “viewmodel fov” can be adjusted separately, but as far as I’m aware no such option exists for Titanfall 2.
Apart from this glitch I found the game working outstandingly well with unusually good performance for a game that new.
It’s true, it runs very well for such an effects heavy game. Unfortunately the gun being at the same plane as the background kind of ruins it for me.
Tridef 3D has a profile where the gun is at the right depth, but performance is not as good as Vorpx.

It has an official G3D profile, but there’s something wrong with it–no depth separation between your gun and the environment. Look down at the ground and the depth of your gun and the depth of the ground beneath it are exactly the same. It’s a squashed 2D image.
This would be a perfect game for 3D/VR if not for this flaw. Anyone know a fix?
I’ve played this game on my Rift with Tridef 3D on a virtual screen, so was really looking forward to trying it in FullVR mode with VorpX.
Unfortunately while the VorpX profile runs much better than the Tridef profile and lets you see more of the game’s graphical effects … Depth separation between your gun and any nearby objects/landscape is borked–which is to say there is no depth separation between your gun and the ground whatsoever. It’s a shame because in other respects the game, as I said, looks great with VorpX. Has anyone else run into this issue and is there a way to change it? I seem to remember encountering it with some other games as well–ARMA II had the same thing.
If there’s no fix I’m still happy playing Hellblade, GTA V, Kingdom Come, etc …
Any news on when this will be possible? I was ecstatic when Ralf announced Titanfall 2 was in full 3d – but online the game is nearly dead. What about overwatch and battlefield? Surely if he can get those games working then when the new battlefield comes out it will be easy… Anyway thanks!
If action packed FPS games are what you’re looking for, Titanfall 1/2 are perfect for you this time around. Very cool sci-fi themed FPS with unusual things like wall running etc. True AAA games with very high budgets/production value, made by Respawn – the new studio of the original Call of Duty creators.
Get Even is another FPS game, slower paced, but very nice graphics made with photogrammetry, not unsimilar to the graphics of Ethan Carter.
And as per IIRC your personal request there is also Direct VR head tracking for Ethan Carter now.
Kingdom Come Deliverance might also be interesting for you. It’s a hardcore RPG, but if you are mostly looking for walking/running through nice scenery it might still be worth a look.
And Tron 2.0, of course, if you don’t mind playing something a little bit older.
Took a closer look at this update and I’m not just psyched for KCD but also the Thief remake in G3D, Nier, etc.
Any chance we could eventually get a Titanfall 2 profile? Very playable with unofficial Tridef profile but I miss that Vorpx magic …
Regardless, I really hope the VR community will come to realize the huge strides Vorpx has made/is making with these last few updates. There was a time where I couldn’t unreservedly recommend the software to someone–especially if they weren’t into tinkering. Now not only would I recommend it–I think EVERYONE who is into 3D/VR gaming should buy it. Great work, Ralf.
Titanfall 2 was one of the if-time-permits-profiles I had in mind in the original post. Good news: it will be included and works just as well as Titanfall 1. Geometry 3D, auto resolution/FOV, scalable HUD etc.
