That is good news. Thanks for the info. I’ll definitely check the game before the next update then.

Thanks for the info! I already have the game working in perfect G3D using the universal unreal engine 4 HelixMod. The only issue I had was that there was no good way to get head tracking. TrackIR support means a simple freepie script and OpenTrack is all I need to basically have this game be a native VR game now.

Will be trying tonight!! Im excited.

By the way, the available Z3D profile ataches with -dx11 in launch settings, but I can’t get past the Unreal Engine logo. I wonder if it was creted for the Scorn Prolouge Demo. What would be the ideal profile to atach to a recent UE4 game with DX11 and a different profile to try with DX12?

Try grounded profile as suggested by Ralf himself. But game stuck on logo doesnt sound like profile issue, try running it windowed or fullscreen, opposite of what you have and see if anything changes.

so, I don’t make you the video, but I do it for you written the tutorial.
first go to this site https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Home and look for the game you want to create the profile, qi you should see the graphics engine with which the game is developed and the api it uses (dx9 dx11 right 12)
once found go to this site
    https://rjkole.com/gamestuff/engines/
here you will find the games divided by graphic engine, select an engine to understand which existing profile you can go to modify.
    open vorpx
click on the vorpx icon at the bottom right of your desktop and go to local profile or cloud profile and look for a game that uses the graphics engine you are interested in, click on the name of the game and then click on the option on the right “create new profile based on this one “, Type the name of the game in the box that appears and then click on create.
once created, select the profile and click on add file, and select the executable of the game you are interested in.
    Done.
Two considerations. Lately the games are mostly made with unreal engine 4 and unity, but beware, if the game only works with dx12 you have to use the cyberpunk 2077 profile regardless of the graphics engine with which the game is developed.
Some games developed with dx12 can be launched in dx11 by adding the command -dx11 in the properties of the link of the executable and in this case you will have to create a specific profile of the game engine, I hope I have explained myself, I am Italian and this post has been translated with google translator.

    Kerbal Space Program

    Any other suggestions?

    Hi folks,
Long time lurker here even longer user.
Ralf, you’re a genius and indeed the cause of me purchasing games I wouldn’t have even humored .. so thanks for that haha =)

    Anywho, ..
I have tried a plethora of profiles with the steam game Indutria and simply can not get any “3d depth” or “FOV” to work at all. There are a few profiles that give the geometry options but the FOV slider doesn’t change the image.

I have read on reddit and YT that either Half-Life 2 or the Bioshock Infinite works but I couldn’t get HL2 to hook at all and Bioshock profile doesn’t exist anymore so no joy there.
I have also tried Control, Medieval Dynasty (or something like that), Get Even, A Hat in Time, Ace Combat, … well lets just say I have tried a few lol.

Has anyone played this game at all and can help a poor guy out, no hair left to pull out.
Or anyone have an Unreal 4 profile I can try with ?

I wouldn’t normally beg like this but I don’t really want to go through every profile (although I will if I have too lmao).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
I’m a sim enthousiast. I use games which are native VR , some are not. I would recommand especially 2 bus games. The first is already old but known in the community as the best bus driving sim. It’s called OMSI. The second is a TML game called Fernbus Simulator, which is the only long ride driving bus sim which exists. TML also developps 2 others games (same Unreal engine as Fernbus Sim). they’r called “Tourist bus Sim” and “the Bus”.

Writing this I’m also thinkong about the wonderfull Sspace game, Star Citizen. But that’s an other story.

Sorry, my english is not verry good.
    Best regards !

I just reinstalled VorpX after not using it for about a year and now I can’t find any profiles for Borderlands 2. I know it had it before, but now I can’t find a single one. I really wanted to try this one again as I’m on a Borderland kick.

I’ve also, tried Unreal Engine 3 as a work around, but It just says, “This game is not supported”

Making your own vorpX profile is usually the better option and fairly easy if you know what engine a game uses, which is Unreal Engine 4 in case of Stray. Caveat: Some UE4 games are DX12 only these days. If there is no 3D with one of the many DX11 UE4 profiles try the Grounded profile as a base.

I second this. Whenever possible it’s best to go the vorpX route – it’s simply faster than the other solutions. For example Witcher 3 (first person mod) pushed to 8K-X at 4K and every slider at max quality give a liquid smooth 60fps and can often maintain 75fps in vorpX Z3D. Virtual Desktop + SuperDepthVR can also be used, but even getting a solid 60fps requires quality concessions and a slightly lower resolution. So there is a substantial performance difference in many titles between vorpX and the alternatives.

That said, I’ve been using SuperDepth3D (and now VR) almost since the initial release and they are a good alternative when vorpX doesn’t yet support a title. I hope Ralf, that you understand that we like to sometimes discuss alternatives for when vorpX doesn’t support a title yet? If you prefer not, then let us know and I expect most of us here will abide by your decision.

Everspace 2 is not working for me with its newest version. Vorpx only seems to be able to halfly hook into it. On the desktop I can see the vorpx Logo on top and even the hint that this game seems to support TrackIR. However, on my oculus nothing is mirrored. And after a minute the hook helper dialog pops up. But when I try to install a hook helper I get the error message, that the required information cannot be extracted. It’s still using the Unreal Engine with DirectX 11. But so far no luck in hooking :-(

All you have to do is creating a copy of the base profile in the config app and then applying the game’s main .exe. Caveat: mke sure to apply the actual game .exe, not some launcher a game may use. For UE4 games thouse are typically named like this: arbitarygamename-win64-shipping.exe.

BTW: The PC Gaming Wiki and Wikipedia are usually a good way to find out the engine a game uses. For older games RJKs game engine page is also a great source.

More detailed information on the matter can be found in the vorpX help under ‘User Profiles’.

For me this would be a risky purchase. Unless I was super keen on this game I would wait for a discount sale to try it. Although you can use the steam refund program, if you can get your testing done before the 2 hour playtime mark.

I knew nothing of this game, but here is what I learned by briefly searching key words among the steam discussions.

    -Unreal Engine 4 game (good)
    -dx12 (bad)
-no mention of FOV increase options (bad)
-cockpit camera video looks like it may have very limited movement, locked to the horizon (bad)

dx12 is the major obstacle here, as we only have a handful of profiles to test with currently. I’ll just say that out of 4 unofficial dx12 games in my library, only 1 has worked with Z3D. And yes, dx12 is Z3D only at this point.

Here are the profiles I would try:

    Grounded
    CyberPunk 2077
    Rdr2
    Resident Evil Village
    Horizon Zero Dawn
    Death Stranding
    Deathloop
    Dying Light 2

And remember that the true exe for UE4 games are hidden inside the Binaries/Win64 folder and always end with the words “shipping.exe”

Well, Unreal Gold worked as well with the official profile, but there was no stereo3D. I’m not sure if it was intended like this, or it worked years ago and now it doesn’t anymore (how old is 227i patch anyway?). IMHO it’s pretty pointless to have a profile without stereo3D. :)

Did you have any stereoscopic depth with Revision?

Deus Ex from year 2000 ? In my opinion you should wait for a Reboot of the Franchise and play a full Remake in the Unreal Engine 5 or something else.

But you can try a PS2 Emu via vorpx, if the vorpx profile is not working !
