In reply to: Problems with official vorpX profiles
mr_spongeworthyParticipantDone and… Done!
Gotta admit, that works brilliantly. The depth is fine in full VR mode, so that’s definitely related to something going on in Lounge mode on my end. It’s extraordinary how many pixels we have to push to get decent image sharpness on these HMDs. I may have a little more performance to spare, so I’m wondering if there is a way to increase the resolution beyond your “2400” setting? I’ve also tried putting FO3 back in full-screen mode and using 3840×2160 (4K 16×9), which also looks great. I don’t mind manually editing .ini files; just don’t want to waste time doing trial and error.
Feb 25, 2020 at 3:41pm #192687In reply to: Any way to “Vorpx” Dolphin emulator?
RalfKeymasterDolphin already has a working VR component.
That’s why I never cared to check it with vorpX. The VR build is fairly outdated now though and way more buggy than current regular versions, so a vorpX profile might still be useful. Also some may prefer the vorpX cinema mode. Wasn’t really a big deal due to the built-in stereo.
Possible to get an XBOX 360 EMU working or ps2? or ps1?
I tried PCSX2 a long time ago, but no dice as far as 3D is concerned. A lot has changed since then though, in vorpX as well as probably in the emulator, so it might make sense to check it again. Will do that before the next release.
Feb 13, 2020 at 11:00pm #192450Topic: Lightgun Simulation? (Time Crisis 2 – PCSX2)
in forum Game Hints and Settings
Chris11115ParticipantHello everyone,
I would love to play some of my old lightgun shooters such as Time Crisis 2/3/Crisis Zone or Vampire Night in my VR headset, using a VR controller as a weapon.
Time Crisis 2 works fine in vorpx using PCSX2 1.5. I downloaded the USB plugin “nuvee” to simulate a lightgun using the mouse. As far as I’ve seen vorpx can simulate a mouse, but in order to move the mouse, you have to use the trackpad, pointing does not work. I tried using a small program called “vive mouse”, which basically can do what I need (Vive controller acts as a mouse pointer) but it stops working when opening a program.
Does anyone of you know of a way to fully simulate a mouse (something like in Virtual Desktop, unfortonuately the VR controllers also do not work inside PCSX2) using Vive controllers? Does VorpX have this functionality and I just did not set it up right?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

This fix requires ENBs d3d8to9 wrapper.
If present, delete Knighshift.exe (65Kb) , rename KnightShift.ex2 to Knighshift.exe of if not working Rename KnighShift.ex1 to KnightShift.exe
Game has Z3D also, but quite poorIf the game crashes, add “KnightShift.exe” to your Windows Data Execution Prevention.
– Requires ENB d3d8to9 wrapper
– Delete or rename KN.exe and rename KN.ex2 to Knighshift.exe
– Start game with this executable

zeveralParticipantI’ve been wondering about the plausability of getting vorpx to work with some emulators. I’m not sure there are enough 3d ps1/n64 games to make looking into those worthwhile, plus there are way too many of them to try and support all of them. But…
PCSX2 is in it’s “final” 1.6.0 prep stages, would be nice to see an update of the profile once that’s released.
RPCS3, I know it’s main renderer is vulkan, but it’d be pretty neat.
CEMU, the opengl renderer seems pretty stable now that he’s working on a vulkan option. Not sure that makes any difference, though.
I know they all still have work being done on their video backends, which makes writing profiles for them a whack-a-mole game at best, but hey, this is a wishlist (also why I suggested waiting for the “stable” release of PCSX2). I didn’t mention Dolphin since it’s got its own built in 3d option with some of the devs working on openvr support.

Zombie DriverJan 29, 2020 at 4:16am #192153In reply to: HP Reverb and Star Citizen – What resolution to use?
rich0550ParticipantOk Sorry edit is off so will have add to thread.
So 2560×1440 is lower than the resolution of the HP Reverb. Then you zoom in another 65% clipping the sides you get 1772×1440. Is that right?
So in order to achieve the maximum resolution of the Reverb you would need to divide the horizontal resolution suggested of 1440 by .65 = 2216
and the horizontal 2560 by .65 = 3938so would need to set at 3938×2216, if zoom in by 65% in order to achieve the maximum resolution of the HP Reverb in such case?
Thanks!
Jan 28, 2020 at 4:39pm #192130In reply to: HP Reverb and Star Citizen – What resolution to use?
rich0550ParticipantThank you. Here is the thing that is really confusing. If is set a very wide and narrow resolution on my PC monitor would get black space top and bottom or it would be stretched.
How does this work in VR headsets or in Vorpex? So if I have a square screen with HP Reverb 2160×2160 and pick a landscape aspect of some type to use laymen terms.. What then happens. Streching or black boarders?
I guess don’t understand how it is possible to use panoramic wide resolutions on a square screen.
Thanks sorry to continue thread its just confusing as hell.
Jan 26, 2020 at 4:12pm #192088In reply to: HP Reverb and Star Citizen – What resolution to use?
rich0550Participantsorry reason I ask this is the 2160×2160 is the correct native resolution but it looks like a square box in the middle of the screen, and its impossible to zoom correctly into it with Vorpex setting.
confused about resolutions to use in VR, in the past its always been native resolution with projectors and so forth but now what is the best practice?

jtrobe67ParticipantMuskoka1847, first off , GREAT write up. I will be checking my settings later today. I just joined the Star Citizen PTU a week ago in hopes that Vorpx would play nicely in it and it does for the most part with the default profile. I am currently using an Oculus Rift S and uses a default resolution setting 2560×1440 with a RTX2060. I can get a constant 43-45 FPS but you have some higher settings like crystal Image set to aggressive, and Z-Adaptive, what FPS are you getting with any consistency. this will help me understand if I have mine set up optimally.
I don’t have a HOTAS yet, but this game is really making me rethink that. I am working on getting the controllers set up properly since current profile does not have a Mobi-Glass button, nor can I lower my landing gear, I have to use the keypad for that.

rombodawgParticipantJust upadated to 20.1 after having 19.3. 19.3 worked great with monster hunter world. Although my fps would be anywhere from 25-40, which isnt very great. I would get no stutter and it would be visually smooth. Now that i updated to 20.1 there is a clear stutter making the game very difficult to play and view. Even when switching to Z3D and getting about 50 fps, the game still has the same aweful stutter. Im assuming the issue is with the update since my game was working fine before updating. A solution or at least a way to go back to 19.3 would be nice. I have a Intel Core™ i7 9750H CPU and a NVIDIA® GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. running on the Oculus rift S

in forum General vorpX Discussion
OlDirtyParticipantI know there’s a small VR version for FX2 pinball, but what about FX3 and the newly released Williams pinball tables. Would it be possible to release a VorpX profile for that game? To stand in front of a “real” pinball machine is an awesome feeling. There’s a thread on steam ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/442120/discussions/0/2592234299550848605/?ctp=11 ) where people beg for a VR DLC but nothing happens. I guess the developers are not interested in that. So the last hope would be VorpX. Let’s see and pray…

chtiblueParticipantHi,
I’m new to Vorpx.
Does anyone play rdr2 with vive pro?
because whatever I made following OP’s instructions, I can’t see the edge of the screen (map on the left and action options on the right). So I need to put the desktop to 3200×2880? What for ingame resolution?
Nov 22, 2019 at 12:16am #190380
dellrifter22ParticipantBecause RDR2 (and most games for that matter) can’t handle that shape. They are made for widescreen, not tall screen. You wont be able to use your exact native resolution/ratio of hmd, just get as close as you can to prevent wasted performance.
In the case of RDR2, it seems 10:9 (10 wide and 9 high) is about as close as we can get. I tried 1:1 (1600×1600) and RDR2 did not accept that. But it accepts 1600×1440 (10:9) or multiples of that.
But in most cases you’ll need to settle for 4:3, like 1600×1200, 3200×2400, etc.
Don’t worry so much about matching your hmd’s pixel count, just try to get a res as high as your computer can handle. vorpX will smartly translate and supersample it to your hmd.
Nov 21, 2019 at 10:21am #190355In reply to: should I sell Vive Pro for HP Reverb for Vorpx?
zig11727ParticipantSeeing HP Reverbs on ebay pretty dam cheap it might be worth the test. I was thinking of getting the 2.0 base stations for the pro but those would be even more than the Reverb almost. or maybe 2020-2021 brings in 4k VR? Also the 3080 series cards might take us over the top ?
Make sure your if you purchase from Ebay the Reverb is revision 2 the first one have problems also the reverb is true 4K VR (4320×2160) and if you purchase used I don’t think the warranty transfers to the new owner.

KnightShift (G3D/Z3D)
This fix requires ENBs d3d8to9 wrapper.
If present, delete Knighshift.exe (65Kb) , rename KnightShift.ex2 to Knighshift.exe of if not working Rename KnighShift.ex1 to KnightShift.exe
Game has Z3D also, but quite poorIf the game crashes, add “KnightShift.exe” to your Windows Data Execution Prevention.
– Requires ENB d3d8to9 wrapper
– Delete or rename KN.exe and rename KN.ex2 to Knighshift.exe
– Start game with this executable
– Profile available at the cloudJust upadated to 20.1 after having 19.3. 19.3 worked great with monster hunter world.
Topic: pinball FX3 anytime?
I know there’s a small VR version for FX2 pinball, but what about FX3 and the newly released Williams pinball tables.
