In reply to: Bioshock Profile weg

nieda113ParticipantAs of now if one reads my post the comments on it dont answer my question. So here again: Will a new update prevent backuped updates for FC5 RDR2 Bioshock? Since vorpx updates are mandatory. ( i know i can make my own profiles based on others , i use vorpx for like at the very beginning of release) Just a plain answer like “yes” or “no” is sufficiant.

jossm97ParticipantIt is a very frustrating situation.
I bought Vorpx mainly to play certain games like GTA4, GTA5, Red dead 2, bioshock or The Outer Worlds and it just so happens that the company that owns it is a b#####hit.
Luckily I discovered great experiences with vorpx with fallout/Elder scroll saga, but there is no guarantee that in a few months I will be able to play them due to similar circumstances…Sep 21, 2022 at 10:07am #213090Topic: Industria

CyberJParticipantHi folks,
Long time lurker here even longer user.
Ralf, you’re a genius and indeed the cause of me purchasing games I wouldn’t have even humored .. so thanks for that haha =)Anywho, ..
I have tried a plethora of profiles with the steam game Indutria and simply can not get any “3d depth” or “FOV” to work at all. There are a few profiles that give the geometry options but the FOV slider doesn’t change the image.I have read on reddit and YT that either Half-Life 2 or the Bioshock Infinite works but I couldn’t get HL2 to hook at all and Bioshock profile doesn’t exist anymore so no joy there.
I have also tried Control, Medieval Dynasty (or something like that), Get Even, A Hat in Time, Ace Combat, … well lets just say I have tried a few lol.Has anyone played this game at all and can help a poor guy out, no hair left to pull out.
Or anyone have an Unreal 4 profile I can try with ?I wouldn’t normally beg like this but I don’t really want to go through every profile (although I will if I have too lmao).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

a_giilingParticipantNot sure why Ralph keeps deleting messages about this. I saw someone post up the other day about Bioshock profiles being missing and the post got removed. If he has removed them why not let people know instead of hiding it.
Take 2 will only send a cease and desist to him if they ever do and as long as he removes support which he already has they wont take any further legal action.

Ghost75757ParticipantI had same problem. I made a new profile (bypassing 2K Launcher), apply it and see if it works for you. works now. It needs to attach to your shipping PC Xgame.exe (you will find it on your PC in Epic Games, Bioshock, Binaries, Win32. If my profile does not work, make your own on Local Profiles and add your .exe file. then it will attach.

JonnyTenebrousParticipantHmm, same issue here. Only picked up VorpX in the last week. Original Bioshock was on a lot of top VorpX experiences lists, so had to try it. Loaded into the game (just after plane crash), run DirectVR scan… crashes every time (regardless of windowed or fullscreen mode). Reverb G2 v2, Win10 Pro, GTX 3070Ti, no 3rd party AV, screen overlays disabled.

Jan 4, 2022 at 4:54pm #208770In reply to: Can’t get Bioshock infinite working
RalfKeymasterSounds as if the profile for the game hasn’t been loaded correctly. Two possible reasons: either the profile database is corrupt or maybe vorpX can’t detect the game because its .exe is named differently than normally.
You can check whether vorpX was able to detect the game correctly in the config app. Since it is supposed to adjust some settings in case of Bioshock Infinite, there should be an entry for the game on the ‘Restore Game Settings’ page.
If not:
First please try a factory reset in the config app (trouble shooting). That would fix a potentially broken database.
In regard to the second option, please browse to the game’s install folder and check wehether the .exe is named BioShockInfinite.exe, it’s located in [Bioshock Infinite]\Binaries\Win32. Sometimes games use different .exe names for different editions. If that happens to be the case, it would great if you let me know so that I could update the profile.
Jan 2, 2022 at 10:35am #208684In reply to: Image stretching when turning head (all games)
RalfKeymasterHexen 2 is not supported, so in that case you would indeed have to do it yourself. The help that comes with vorpX as some hints in that respect in the ‘Essential Hints’ and the ‘1-2-3 Game Setup’ guides.
For Bioshock 1 and Infinite however vorpX does it automatically, at least unless you have disabled automatic settings. If you tweaked a lot of settings in these games, please reset the profiles to default and make sure that you didn’t accidentally disable automated settings in the config app.

drowhunterParticipantTheres simething off when trying to play with a mouse and keyboard. The following was observed using a Quest 2 on airlink via Ocukus runtime.
Moving the mouse vertically seems to kind of rotate and skew the view, leading to incredible discomfort.
Is there a way to lock the mouse so that moving it only moves mouseX or even better doesnt rotate the view incorrectly.
Also is there a setting for snap turn or to speed up the rate of rotation on the right stick?
Turning with the stick also seems off.. less smooth than you would want.
Other weird things include. At the beginning of the game you take a ride in soneones car. No matter how much I recenter (Alt-Shift my view ends up being misaligned with my vidy. Its as if rhe cars rotation is affecting it for some reason.
I dont remember having the above issues with any vorpx game before bioshock for example.
Nov 27, 2021 at 1:31pm #207531In reply to: What are your TOP VorpX experiences?
CrazyDolphinParticipantI recently completed Bioshock 2 Remastered, and overall had a great time. Observations are as follows:
– Played on a i7-8700, 16GB RAM. GTX1070Ti with a Valve Index (90Hz, Motion Smoothing On) while standing. I know my rig is old, but three words spell it out (kid in college).
– Played in Full VR with the only adjustments being the HUD display to see things like Health and Plasmid Levels, and deciding how much of the helmet was in my Feld of View.
– I played Remastered over the vanilla version because vanilla was causing so many game crashes I stopped playing the game. Remastered was much more stable for myself, but the visuals were not as clean as what the vanilla version provided. Remastered had its crashes as well, but far less than vanilla.
– Playing while being inside the helmet was great fun. I could actually lean forward with my head, and it felt like I was able to see more of the environment. This was fun because it made me feel like I was inside of the helmet, and greatly enhanced the immersive aspects of the experience.
– My biggest issues were that: (i) my hands/weapons felt too big, (ii) my default height felt too short (but was adjustable if memory serves), and (iii) the weapons had no collision detection, so they often went ‘into’ objects.
– Direct VR usage was essential, and really helped to stabilize the image, and made looking around in the Bioshock universe so enjoyable.
– There were often graphical issues, like where shadows did quite match with objects, or where background items had a different blackness level compared to nearby objects, but ultimately were non-issues before vorpX was able to put me in the Bioshock universe in a way that I enjoyed.I played Bioshock 1 on a flatscreen about three years ago, and had a great time. I’ve played the Bioshock-themed workshop level on Half-Life Alyx, and also had a great time. Bioshock 2 Remastered was better because I got to live in the world while experiencing a full campaign with an engaging storyline.

JochenHParticipantSo Ralf I am sorry to make you upset! In fact I am a long time user of Vorpx and I read all stuff carefully. I added custom resolutions long time ago, I remember I did that when I had problems with Bioshock Infinite a year ago.
But I added much more custom resolutions yesterday. At least that shouldnt hurt, right?
I restarted Deus Ex HR then and could really change the quality from decent to ultra. Before it did not work! The game also looks now much better.
I later tried Dishonored 2, which also seems to take profit from the new resolutions. It now looks as good as it gets for a game not having geometry 3D.
Also Mass Effect Legendary works now much better with the new resolutions.
I guess that I did not add the very high resolution options before, also I added some fancy 5:4 or 8:9 resolutions now.
