In reply to: List of G3D games?
RalfKeymasterThe spreadsheet gives a pretty good overview. A few G3D games are missing (e.g. Bioshock 2, Fallout 4 from briefly skimming over it), but other than that it’s pretty much the current state.
A little hint for advanced users: not all G3D games have positional tracking enabled per default, either because it wasn’t tested or found to be too glitchy. You can enable it in all G3D games yourself though at your own risk if the expert options checkbox is ticked in the config app. The according options then can be found on the head tracking page of the ingame menu.

TiggerdyretParticipantIs there a list of G3D compatible games somewhere? Or is it only Fallout 4 and SKyrim that support it?

AnonymousInactiveThat sounds great. I always thought pos tracking wasn’t possible for Z3D. If it works for Fallout 4 can we assume that it will also work for Skyrim SE?
Nov 3, 2016 at 11:52pm #122445In reply to: More games Ralf! :-)
RalfKeymasterThe next update introduces a new feature that requires additional profiles in itself, which currently are done for about 30 games. Although not its main purpose that will allow Z3D pos tracking for *some* (emphasis on *some*) games.
One of these is Fallout 4 and I can’t help but say that in a game like FO4, that needs every bit of performance, this is a huge win. In practice that means that using Z3D outside where it usually works really well and G3D in interiors is now the best of both worlds without really missing anything anywhere. I dare say maybe even for some of you who really don’t like it until now.
Once all that is done, focus will shift to new 3D profiles.

BluePhoenixParticipantWow, even at the “preliminary” stage this profile is pretty amazing. Much better than what I concocted off of the Fallout 4 one.
Is there any way to get the left analog stick on the controller to still act as a joystick instead of a binary move? Maybe I need to play around with the Partial controller override.
Fantastic work Ralf! Thank you!

sucajParticipantThanks Ralf!
I’ll know for myself in a few hours, but how are the new shaders working in 3D?
Fallout 4 is such a disaster in the shader department in G3D that I find it completely unplayable. I’m really worried some of that will carry over to Skyrim SE.
Opinions on lighting aside, what are the referred-to downsides of using VorpX with SE vs the original?

ceoyangParticipantI see. I wonder if there is a mod for fallout 4 that supports the remote like GTA5

AerowynXParticipantVorpX doesn’t add in motion controller functionality in any game. Best bet is wait for Bethesda to release the official Fallout 4 VR game which will have full motion controller support

ceoyangParticipantHey guys, I just got my Vive to work with Fallout 4. The game works just fine, but I can only play the game with my mouse and keyboard. If I cannot use the Vive remote to point and shoot, I think it defeats the whole purpose of playing in VR. Is there a way to play Fallout 4 with the Vive remote?

orion41usParticipantYes, also – I could not get the ENB stuff working with vorpx, which left the original graphics which are a bit dated :( Figured I just wait for the SE to work.
The SE semi-works with a fallout 4 profile – no 3d, I can not tell any difference between any of the 3d settings. Also note: could not get FOV changed in game or using vorpx – but if I used the Skyrim console (~) I could type fov 100 and it would work fine, between game loads and restarts as well. So thats a start.

FredthehoundParticipantI find this confusing as I saw a MASSIVE performance boost going to SSE on monitor. Even with the hacked Fallout 4 profile in ZBuffer SSE was far smoother and thats with full Godrays and shadows on Ultra. In OG it was rougher even with settings on High and shadow/draw distances backed off.
I have read some people with 1070s and 1080s are experiencing framerate issues in normal play (non VorpX), but not everyone so I dunno whats going on there. Probably driver optimization. There’s posts around various forums about it. But most people are saying it’s a huge perf boost.

StreetPreacherParticipantIt’s NOT woking ! I’m trying now for hours and hours to change the FOV setting and it still not working at all, game is ultra zoomed.
” Set the game FOV directly in the game if it provides to dial in an FOV of 120°. ”
=> Impossible on fallout 4, metro 2033 redux, metro last light redux
Set the game FOV directly with the vorpX Game Settings Optimizer (vorpX config app) for games that support it.
=> the same ! ” optimize setting ” for FOV = 120, then ” setting applied ” then ” apply ” then…. NO CHANGE in game !
All my games are original, on steam, and not modified. I paid 35 euros for something that is not working, you have no video of tutorial on your website… great !!
Has this question been addressed? I’m having the same issue. The Optimization settings in in VorPX for FAllout 4 are set to resolution fo 1280×1024 and FOV of 110 and the boxes are checked, however when I launch fallout I still get the Vorpx warning that my resoltion is set to the monitor default of 1680×1050…
Any tips? I tried using a third party config tool but when that was running fallout wouldn’t launch on the headset…
Oct 31, 2016 at 5:42pm #122230In reply to: Everything looks flat in Fallout 4
RalfKeymasterUnless you are using some kind of of mod manager which enforces its own .ini file, the ini is:
[Documents]\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini
Make sure that no file in this folder is write protected. Some tweak tool authors feel they are important enough to write protect the .ini files, which would prevent the Game Optimizer from working and you from saving the files.
Resolution is changed with the below values:
iSize H (height)
iSize W (width)If you have a *REALLY* beefy rig you can also try 1600×1200 or 1920×1440 for better quality (at the cost of performance)
FOV can be adjusted by opening the ingame console and typing:
fov 120 120 (followed by pressing enter)
Or any other value you want to apply, the first is the world FOV, the second the player/weapon FOV.
Oct 31, 2016 at 5:12pm #122229In reply to: Everything looks flat in Fallout 4
StreetPreacherParticipantIf you have a mouse wheel you can try to adjust the zoom for 1st/3rd person with it. The default is set so you can.
Thanks! I managed to figure that out, but was worried that I was somehow getting a ‘zoomed in first person view’ as my melee weapon was barely visible on the side of the screen when zoomed all the way in.
Next question, what is the best way to force a 1280×1024 resolution, and force the recommended FOV? I looked at the ‘optimization settings’ and the resolution and FOV settings are correct and checked, however when I launch fallout it gives me the Vorpx warning that the resolution is still set to my montior default (1680×1050)…
I tried using a third party graphic configurator to override the fallout in game settings, but when I had that running the game wouldn’t launch on the headset with Vorpx..
