When I start Skyrim, I cannot get rid of the vorpX positional tracking hint menu. I hit [shift][space] like it tells me to. Nothing happens (except my character jumps). The hint menu stays up forever. Also, the in-game configuration menu is not working. Pressing the [delete] button does nothing. I have never seen this menu. Positional tracking isn’t working either. –although I must say the 3d looks nice and I am able to look all around (just not able to lean in for a closer look).
-this is a clean Skyrim install -no mods
-I have restarted the game, and vorpx several times.
-I rebooted my PC.
-I am using a keyboard and mouse (the 360 controller was too glitchy).
-Running windows 7 with an nVidia card -gtx 680
— thank you vorpX for doing this. This looks like an amazing experience… once the bugs get worked out.Topic: Skyrim Crash on new game…
So, just got my DK2 setup and working fine along with vorpx, fired up skyrim and got it on the proper screen and such, but after starting a new game, it crashes after a few seconds. From my multiple times of trying at it, it seems to happen most frequently when tilting my head. This is with no mods at all by the way, a brand new fresh install.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?
So I tried running Skyrim with the DK2 and the new version of vorpX yesterday, and I had mixed success. For the record, without the Rift I can run the game at a constant 60 fps with all graphics settings at max and vsync enabled, and no stuttering. When I use vorpX, the game becomes a stuttering mess even at the lowest graphics settings possible.
This seems related to the head tracking, which jumps all over the place. If I look down, the view will jerk around a little and then jump as far down as your view can go. It’s the same thing if I look up, only I’m suddenly looking at the sky. Turning in any direction or moving at all makes the view skip and jump, sometimes a lot, sometimes a little. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Even trying to stay still, the camera will make small jumps and stutters.
Apart from the typical DK2 judder that appears in some Rift demos, head tracking works perfectly for me in everything but Skyrim right now.
What’s going on here? What can I do to fix this problem? My specs are below:
Intel i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60 GHz (8 CPUs)
32 GB RAM
Geforce GTX 780 w/ 3 GB RAM
Windows 8.1Topic: Skyrim messed up
Everything is zoomed in – 3D / Scale messed up. FOV zooms it out a bit but its not very 3D. Also head tracking is reversed. Up is down and down is up.
Windows 8.1 here… the usual Portrait is working for me. The sticky suggesting landscape flipped just doesn’t work at all.
Maybe you shouldn’t be charging £30 until its in a better state.
Topic: Skyrim
No one praising this one yet?? What the hell?? Looks fantastic!! The scale and 3D could not be better. One fix had to be made …shadows flickering. The fix… in the skyrimprefs.ini change bDeferredShadows=1 to bDeferredShadows=0 …for some reason it has fixed the shadow problem either way if its zero make it 1 …if its 1 make it zero. People complaining about Vorpx costing 40 dollars are insane. Skyrim alone is worth the forty dollars. Excellent job Ralf! You can just hang by the river looking up at the immense mountains in awe that you are in Skyrim!!!
I am using some focal offset in Skyrim on the DK2 and it looks fantastic. However when I tilt my head it seems like the offset is not being applied correctly – I think it should tilt with your eyes, not remain level with the world. As a result I get double vision whenever I tilt my head.
Other than this issue I am really enjoying the new VorpX, you have done an amazing job.
