    Hi guys (Ralf),

Am I being stupid or is there no way yet to move the virtual screen? I have huge black space under the screen. The top of the screen almost touches the top of the vertical FOV.

I guess it relates to a wearer’s head shape, and everyone is different in that regard.

It would be cool to have an accessible menu function to be able to move the virtual (VR/Cinema/Immersive) screens up and down. Maybe one already exists that I am not aware of?

    Cheers.

I manually remapped the touch controllers in the vorpx menu, but they do still work for me as far as aiming to shoot and most basic functions after remapping when using the old mod from crayfishery(non alpha).

My major troubles come from the heavy frame stutter/FPS issues, and(minor) not being able to actually spin the character, so I have to spin my body physically to look around. I remember it not being as laggy when trying it about a year ago before on a system with much lower spec, so I’m really wondering if its an update that did this or if I’m just doing something wrong when launching.

I might pick this back up again, someone in a different thread mentioned using fullscreen mode and I haven’t tried that yet, but trying so many things with the same results is taxing on my patience unfortunately.

Imagine i would keep all my 450+ profiles up to date. 10 people werent enough to hire.

Perhaps a cloud button, something like “inform author” would make sense, where the author receives an email directly from the cloud, otherwise you will probably not be able, or at least have trouble to get in touch if they dont read the forum regularily.

I find your idea not too bad, but that Flag should be stored locally because some profiles may work for one or another user.

    Hi James,

You need touch or Vive, or knuckles

    Vrocker overrides these controllers,

    Which in turn overrides vorpx

Allowing you to walk, jog and run ingame

For playing vorpx games with Vrocker can we use simple xbox like joystics or do we need touch for oculus cv1 and wands for htc vive??please answer…..

Ugh, I was trying so hard to get this working last uea3r but the mod crayfishery put together no longer worked with the CV1’s as the controller support broke for oculus touch. Did it finally get fixed or did you have to put a ton of work intogetting it to work?

Last i remember someone was saying to like start the game before putting on the headset until after it loads or something…

As I noob here, I finally able to get ACE 7 going like the one shown on youtubes. (Just played the 2nd mission. this is about 70% of PSVR version in terms of VR)
There maybe better way, but it took me 2 days to get it going. I am using Quest Link to PC.

1)Play the game on 2D monitor and get thru 1st mission so you get the free 1st mission, which you can use to test your setting while setting things up.
2)I had to keep the keyboard, gamepad, and touch controller handy nearby to navigate when one controller cant control certain aspect of the menu.

3)Setup FOV using Hex: (Vorpx does not have this function for this game)

PSA! How to change FOV in Ace Combat 7.
    byu/ChoPT inacecombat

Note: If you set it the first time and close the program, your hex will change but you can search again using “D8F57F” then highlight the hex before it, the value will show up again and you can change it. Just read thru it, the poster done a great job there. My is set to 0.013 and save it.

    4)Set up your Vorpx Menu

Simple setup (My slight variation to poster)
    1. Download cloud game profile “ACE COMBAT (REDDIT)” VorpX
    2. Apply game profile and run VorpX
    3. Run Ace combat.
    5. Set ingame setting, “Mouse aircraft/camera control” to “On” under “Option>>>Mouse”.
    6. Open in-game VorpX menu: “DEL” key.
    7. Adjust Head tracking to around “.30”
    8. Adjust Image zoom to around “.75”
    9. Set Control to “Gamepad” not “KB”(Default)
    10. Save and Close
    NOTE:
    a. You will need to familiarize (trial and error) how to navigate using gamepad, touch controller, keyboard to get thru the steps.
    b. I did not have to PERMANENTLY KEEP “LAlt” pressed, the head tracking works using gamepad. If you are using touch controller you may need to. I have other problem with touch controller (I can’t pitch up and down), so I use gamepad.
Note: I found both gamepad and touch controller can’t navigate thru all the menus whether it is vorpx menu or in game menu so you may need the keyboard from time to time.

    5)
You should able to game with gamepad, but I need to use touch controller to EDGE PEEK.

You maybe need to restart few times as navigation can be a bitaach, just close the vorpx and the game, yah take off your headset included and restart etc.

    Good Luck!

I hope Computer Savy guys here should write Simple Guide for Noobs here more often.

Can you explain what you mean? the OP of this thread obviously didn’t do things right originally. In Bioshock vorpX can not only adjust the FOV (‘zoomed in’) automatically, like in about 150 other games, but also provides perfect 1:1 head tracking at the touch of the button. With the original Bioshock you even get basic room scale capabilities if you want.

Bioshock (original preferred over remastered) is pretty much plug and play, the only thing you might want to adjust manually is possibly the resolution for better image quality.

In general: You can run games at any resolution, the higher the resolution, the better the image quality. You can even add resolutions to your PC that it does not support otherwise, which can help to improve things a lot. More detailed information including a step-by-step guide in the ‘Custom Resolutions’ section of the vorpX help.

For Resident Evil 7 it’s even simpler since the game has an option to raise the internal render resolution in its options menu. Can’t remember what it was called, but should be easy enough to spot in the graphics/video options. vorpX automatically sets it to 1.3x the game resolution, but you can go higher if that doesn’t hurt performance too much.

Touch controllers normally aren’t used by vorpX unless you pick them up and press a button. Before the first button press they are ignored by vorpX, so I’m not sure whether I understand your issue correctly. If you want to disable them completely for some reason, removing the batteries is probably your best bet.

Hi i bought a VorpX license last week, i decided to get into it today, i tried Alien Isolation and Resident Evil 7, both seem pretty good in VR (but blurry compared to native vr games) but the problem i’m having is my oculus touch controllers keep alerting me to pick them up when in game, and my xbox controller keeps flicking back and forth to the keyboard.

Basically i just want to control the game with my controller, i found the games unplayable so far because of the constant switching, i looked in the VorpX in-game keybindings and it just shows keyboard bindings so no option to disable anything.

Also is there a way to make Resident Evil 7 run a bit better and less blurry? i’m running it on a 2080ti, ryzen 3800x and 16gb of ddr 4 3200, and when i’m outside it drops to 40 fps, inside it bounces around 60-70 and i’d like to have consistent frames

    Edit: i’m using a Oculus Rift S

I forgot to add I did find the oculus touch controls work better for me in vorpx than the index controllers, if only because they’ve got actual buttons to use as shift-modifers and for edge-peek/vorpx menu calling whereas with the index controllers ‘grip/squeeze’ equivelant is just not as functional/tactile. Obviously less of an issue if you use a keyboard/mouse/gamepad or are in a game that doesn’t need a lot of edge-peak usage or varied button mapping.

I’ve been looking for some way to enable the 6dof tracking but I don’t see it anywhere in the vorpx settings. Can you point me to where I should be looking? I’m using Geometry 3D.

Also I got the touch controllers going for it. I prefer to play standing (partially for immersion, partially cause it’s healthier for me), and the touch controllers are easy to use (DS4 can be a bit finicky with more setup), made a custom mapping that I think will work nicely and let me do everything! One annoyance, maybe it’s not fixable, the left Touch controller analog stick feels kinda like a d-pad, or just weirdly sensitive or something? Like when I push it left or right I find the movement feels very sudden and rapid in an unnatural way. Anything I can do about that?

Overall, I have mixed feelings about how it all looks and feels, but I expected that, and it is quite beautiful and enjoyable as well! I’ve only played a small amount so far but I think I will end up playing the rest of my game in VR with vorpx! :) As the reddit user mentioned to me, it’s necessary to pop into immersive theatre every time you get into dialog or a menu, but I think I will be okay with that, seems alright so far and I’ll only get more used to it as I play more.

Oh and another thing – when I open the game I get an error message saying there might be a conflict between vorpx and a file in the pathologic 2 folders called “d3d11.dl”, and it suggests I may want to delete that. But the game seems to be working to me… so should I just ignore that? Or will it be improved if I delete that file? Any ideas?

Now I just have to convince myself to let go of my fear of complete failure and press forward in the game…

Check back for the next vorpX update in a month or so. If you see the game mentioned in the release notes, there will be an official profile. If you buy vorpX for the game in the end, I’d at least have its purchase price back. ;)

So, potential good news for you, I think this person has sold me on it ;p https://www.reddit.com/r/vorpx/comments/gq30sa/interested_in_trying_one_game_pathologic_2_anyone/fs2w7f2/

Wondering a couple things about the potential official profile.

(written by the reddit user) “What you won’t have is an unlocked head. In other words, you can’t do this and expect your view to change. afaik at least. I’ll check if you can; it’s a setting that usually is in only a few games.”

Is 6dof unlocked head something you could achieve with this game? Any idea if it’s feasible?

And it sounds like VorpX tends to work best with keyboard and mouse. Is it possible/realistic to make a profile that would work well with gamepad (DS4) or Touch controllers, although I think there probably aren’t enough buttons on touch. Pathologic 2 non-VR has gamepad support though.

Happy Memorial Day all, a few games for ya I have been working on lately…

    Close to the Sun (G3D)

Another fun environment to explore with nice Unreal 4 G3D. It runs heavy, but looks quite nice. The full body animation is also a nice touch.

For best FOV results, add the following line at the bottom of Engine.ini found in C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\ctts\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

    [/Script/Engine.LocalPlayer]
    AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV

    – use a 16:9 resolution (2560×1440) to hide edge culling
    – set Shadow Quality to Normal
    – set Effects Quality to High, with AA On

    *Adjustable HUD
*After completing Prologue, restart game to continue Chapter 1, this will restore the correct FOV that gets lost after the Prologue
*Tested on HP Reverb with mouse and keyboard

Using Virtual Desktop (gamepad mapping option) and Vorpx to Quest, will the aiming be like Laser Pointer on the Touch Controller in Full VR?

I prefer not to use thumb sticks for aiming like xbox controller.
