Hi! I am not able to get 3D with any cloud profiles for Unreal Engine 4 games. Any one else struggling with this?

    Updated Profile Jul.11.2022

Nice little update on this awesome Unreal 3 engine Game.

    – Several small fixes
    – Improved readability on HUD Elements
    – Game seems to run more stable now

Hint: The game is currently 85% OFF Here

For me this would be a risky purchase. Unless I was super keen on this game I would wait for a discount sale to try it. Although you can use the steam refund program, if you can get your testing done before the 2 hour playtime mark.

I knew nothing of this game, but here is what I learned by briefly searching key words among the steam discussions.

    -Unreal Engine 4 game (good)
    -dx12 (bad)
-no mention of FOV increase options (bad)
-cockpit camera video looks like it may have very limited movement, locked to the horizon (bad)

dx12 is the major obstacle here, as we only have a handful of profiles to test with currently. I’ll just say that out of 4 unofficial dx12 games in my library, only 1 has worked with Z3D. And yes, dx12 is Z3D only at this point.

Here are the profiles I would try:

    Grounded
    CyberPunk 2077
    Rdr2
    Resident Evil Village
    Horizon Zero Dawn
    Death Stranding
    Deathloop
    Dying Light 2

And remember that the true exe for UE4 games are hidden inside the Binaries/Win64 folder and always end with the words “shipping.exe”

Well, Unreal Gold worked as well with the official profile, but there was no stereo3D. I’m not sure if it was intended like this, or it worked years ago and now it doesn’t anymore (how old is 227i patch anyway?). IMHO it’s pretty pointless to have a profile without stereo3D. :)

Did you have any stereoscopic depth with Revision?

Yeah, ever since my experience with Unreal Gold i suspected something like that.

I’m pretty sure i can get it running with ReShade and SuperDepth3D, but it’s not a comfortable experience.

Oh well, it’s back to flat gaming again, i guess.

Deus Ex from year 2000 ? In my opinion you should wait for a Reboot of the Franchise and play a full Remake in the Unreal Engine 5 or something else.

But you can try a PS2 Emu via vorpx, if the vorpx profile is not working !

Good to hear about the other two games, but i asked first and foremost about the first Deus Ex game (the original). Because i couldn’t find any info about it, and it’s UE1 (i could never get Unreal Gold working properly with VorpX, for example).

I spent a few hours (both in and out of the headset) trying to get it to work, and all I succeeded in doing was making myself sick.

This is my first time attempting to use vorpX, so I don’t know whether I’m being really stupid and using vorpX completely incorrectly, or if I’m just struggling to get the settings right for this specific game.

    My hardware:
    RTX 2080 TI graphics card
    HTC Vive Pro headset
    Vive controllers
    Index controllers

The first thing I did was turn on my headset, start SteamVR, and then start vorpX and set the profile to Unreal 3, and then finally start up Naissancee. (A youtube tutorial informed me this was the correct order to do things- please let me know if that’s wrong!)

At first I was trying to use the Index controllers, but I couldn’t get edgepeek or the in-game settings menu to work with them. So eventually I gave up and switched to mouse and keyboard. I would prefer to eventually be able to play the game standing up using controllers, but I’ll certainly settle for mouse and keyboard if that’s the only option that can work for Naissancee.

Once I was able to get past the main menu, I encountered several problems. The first problem was that everything was extremely grainy and pixelated. This is how I would expect things to look if my resolution was too low, but the game wouldn’t allow me to change the resolution from 800×600. Every time I set the resolution to something else and clicked ‘apply,’ nothing would visually change, and when I went back to the settings menu, the resolution was back to 800×600!

The second problem was that looking around with the headset was not smooth at all. It wouldn’t pick up on very subtle head movements, and slow head movements would jitter and stutter.

The third problem was that there was something very wrong with the field of view, and possibly the depth as well, for lack of a better word. (By depth, I mean distances directly in front of me appearing too long or too short- sort of like a fish-eye effect, I guess.)

Since Naissancee doesn’t seem to have DirectVR support, I expected I would have to spend a lot of time adjusting the FOV before it would look right. However, I assumed it would be pretty intuitive whether it was currently too high or too low. But once I got into the game, I found I couldn’t actually tell what was wrong with it- it just looked really wrong somehow, and it was making me nauseous. My first thought was to try raising/lowering the FOV manually and seeing which one made it better, but I couldn’t find any way of changing the FOV, whether in the Naissancee settings or in the vorpX in-game settings.

Since it was so unintuitive to me whether the FOV was too high or too low, it occurs to me that perhaps I misdiagnosed the problem, and it actually had nothing to do with FOV. Maybe this was another side effect of the resolution being set wrong, or maybe it was caused by some other issue that never occurred to me. My assumption is that it’s the FOV, but if anyone with more vorpX experience has a more likely answer, please let me know.

It also seemed like the mouse/head turn sensitivity was too high, but I tried to solve the other issues first, and I wound up making myself too sick to continue before I could get to the sensitivity issues. I normally have pretty good VR legs, but the messed up perspective and jittery head movement proved to be too much for me.

I don’t want to admit defeat after only one attempt, so any help would be very much appreciated.
Sorry if there’s some really obvious solution that I’m missing. I did attempt to read all the official instructions and watch a few youtube tutorials before getting started, but I still found myself stumped.

does dnf the release version work in vorpx ?
i think if you transfer another game profile that is unreal 1 engine , it may work , no expert but thats the route to try to test it out , so i have read

The Nativ VR Scene will love that, and Vorpx will get many new user.

The next step to beat up “the new miracle vr mod devs”, is a feature to support Alternate Frame Geometry 3D in user profiles in the shader authoring tool.

After that we need the last step, which could be the “First Person” or “nearly First Person” Mods option in all Third Person games. (like cheatengine does it !)

After that all competing vr mods are obsolete !!!

    I’m Team Vorpx !

But in the future we need DX12 G3D too, and a first step could be to develop it for the unreal engine 4+5 only !

    New Profiles ???

I see. No, i don’t want to disable the coronas. It’s the distinguishing visual feature of Unreal, what made it special at the time. The coronas *are* Unreal, as stupid as it sounds. :)

It seems that this is another one of the games that don’t run with VorpX. Sad.

Still, i appreciate you trying to help.

I uploaded a quick and dirty profile to the cloud, it’s named ‘Unreal 5’. Immersive screen with a bit of head tracking, which is nice for flying around.

The Ironman demo wasn’t downloadable (limit reached), the profile was made with this Superman demo. Not 100% sure whether it will work with the Ironman version, but that’s quite likely.

Hint: Works reasonably well at 2560×1440 with an RTX3080. At least the Superman version doesn’t seem to have an official way of switching resolution though. If necessary set the desktop res to the res you want to play the demo with before launching it for better performance with mid tier GFX cards.

Anyone had any luck getting any of the Unreal 5 engine demo’s to work?
I tried the Ironman Unreal 5 demo with Ghostwire profile, it hooks but no 3D.

    ?

Hey guys! After 2 days of messing around, i finally found a way to play Unreal Gold in Stereo3D.

Nothing worked at first, not the RJK profiles, nor the slydk1982 ones (no stereo3D). But what did work was a cloud profile by dimensionaldude (for OpenGL). Very clean, great 3D, quite natural scale, almost no distortions. But the downside is that some things render very very close: the HUD, the coronas, the mountain backgrounds (those low res textures with the alpha channel).

I guess that those elements are rendered by the same shader (?), so i want to try and position them farther away. But how? I already tried setting HUD Depth in VorpX to max, but it didn’t do anything.

    Any ideas?

i successfully performed the procedure to install the first person mod, but the game crashes after launching it

I wasn’t able to follow the tutorial either, my game kept on crashing as well. Instead of using Unreal Mod Loader and Fallen Order Mod handler, I used Fallen Order Mod Loader instead from https://github.com/RussellJerome/FallenOrderModLoader/releases and it worked!

Give it a try! Haven’t tried VorpX with this yet, but will in a short while.
