    Another fix to make AIM a toggle and not a “hold down”…

    My Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config\WillowInput.ini

    Only under the section [WillowGame.WillowPlayerInput]

    Search for the line containing “RightMouseButton” and REPLACE it with these three lines:

    Bindings=(Name=”RightMouseButton”,Command=”ToggleAimOn”,Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
    Bindings=(Name=”ToggleAimOn”,Command=”StartAltFire | setbind RightMouseButton ToggleAimOff”,Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
    Bindings=(Name=”ToggleAimOff”,Command=”StopAltFire | setbind RightMouseButton ToggleAimOn”,Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)

    Now your right mouse button aiming works as a toggle instead of having to keep it held down.

    By the way, even though it seems those three lines are cut short on the forum interface they are not…if you use mouse to highlight and then do cut and paste it gets everything needed.

    Ok I got a way to show fps stats in borderlands 1 and for some reason it still tops out at only 60fps when UseVsync=True even though I have rift set to 75hz in windows and using as primary display…not a big deal..

    Now when I set UseVsync=False I get between 160 and over 300fps. After reading some older messages when the game first came out they used to get 40fps and below lol…we’ve come a long way.

    Also in

    My Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config\WillowEngine.ini

    To overcome 62fps limit, search for smooth and change these lines to

    bSmoothFrameRate=FALSE
    MinSmoothedFrameRate=0
    MaxSmoothedFrameRate=0

    To enable Vsync, search for Vsync and change that line to

    UseVsync=True

    If you are using your rift as the primary display that should give you 75fps with vsync on.

    Ok after much testing and rebooting and using rift as primary display there is no drastic slowdown on the outdoor scenes. So something was finicky the very first time I tried it out. There is certainly a perceivable difference still with the outdoor scenes but now it more like going from 90fps to 45fps instead of from 60fps to like 15 or less the first time I tried it.

    So to make a long story short…Call of Duty Black Ops 1 is as perfect an experience as Bioshock Infinite. Problem is I still prefer the scenarios in COD MW3. But more and more I see Ralph and vorpx being the current savior of the DK2, These polished triple A games are much better than the sparse tech demos we’ve had to live with before.

    Now if onlu I can get COD: Ghosts to work! That introductory scene with the space station in 3D? I can’t wait to try it out.

    Ok something very wierd happened…I decided to lower some settings to see if I could get it to run faster with outdoor scenes…the only in game option I could change was texture quality which I set to lowest and when the game continued it was buttery smooth at the same outdoor scene that lagged terribly before. So then I tried normal, again no problem and for stupidity sakes I said let me try highest or “extra” again…and this time it was also smooth! Then I quit the game and reloaded it again so it would restart in highest texture quality and for some strange reason none of the framerate drop whcih occured before, it was smooth. I wonder what the heck had happened the first time I ran it through and it was so terribly slow with the outdoor scene of far distances? Maybe I had some other issue or some other process running in the background when I had first tried it out? I will reboot my machine and give it another go and let you guys know.

    It *may* also be a mouse focus issue when using the DK2 a secondary display. If this is the configuration you use, try to set the DK2 as primary display and set vorpX to “Use system settings” display wise instead. This is just a guess, but worth a try.

    I also tried Risen 2 with Rift as primary display and still no mouse…wierd that vorpx only disables mouse input for some games.

    The only thing I can share is that vorpx with the game Risen 2 also locks out all mouse input. Without vorpx it works with mouse no problem. I tried unplugging my xbox controller still no luck. So I switched to using gamepad.

    Even though I used to run Bioshock Infinite and others using the rift as extended display I recently tried making the rift the primary display in windows settigns and configured vorpx to output using “system settings”. I also disabled AERO and I with this config I was able to activate VSYNC properly and go to 75Hz in game settings like COD MW3, so now I always run vorpx games using primary display..the experience is much cleaner imo, not to mention could be less problematic with getting some games to work.

    Thank you for everything Ralf. I am loving playing with my DK2 with vorpx. I went through the entirety of Bioshock Infinite with vorpx on my DK1 and it was my best vr experience and I am reinstalling it for uses on the DK2 now.

    I spent some time playing bioshock infinite myself…I ended up disabling the dynamic shadows because apparently the game produced different shadows on the left than the right eye making some people and objects look a little wierd. There are still static shadows in the game so it wasn’t too bad.

    I thought BIOSHINF was the shit until I tried Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, there are underwater sequences where you take over a sub and then turbulence aboard an airplane…you really need to give it a go. I actually liked it better than BIOSHINF. However it does have some minor display issues like for some reason while looking around you might see a ghost halo effect on the left or right of some objects…the same happens in Mirror’s Edge but the 3D effects are so good they are easily ignorable. Ralf, if you are reading this…will you be customizing COD MW3 and Mirrors Edge at some point so that they will be as good as Bioshock Infinite without those ghost halo outlines appearing around some objects, or is that a problem with the particular game engine?

    It doesn’t seem to be in stereoscopic 3D or his video would have two displays.

    if i set dk2 as primary monitor. new error your s\display doesnt support the selected resolution

    Ok make your vorpxd settings exactly like this:

    home.comcast.net/~sonofman2/vorpx1.jpg

    You can change the type of lens cups and IPD if you need.

    Make sure you have rift setup in extended display mode and is NOT the primary display in windows settings.

    Now reboot your computer. Run vorpX. Run the oculus DESK DEMO scene and then close it. Now run skyrim see if that works.

    Did you set vorpx checkbox to “Run as administrator” ?

    This is what forks for me in Risen 2, allowing simultaneous gamepad emulated headtracking and right analog stick for looking around on x360 gamepad.

    home.comcast.net/~sonofman2/vorpx1.jpg

    home.comcast.net/~sonofman2/vorpx2.jpg

    Within the game Risen 2, there is only the option to enable gamepad or use mouse and keyboard and all I did was enable gamepad (it does not allow use of keyboard/mouse simultaneously with gamepad.) I did not have to mess with any mappings of gamepad in Risen 2 and the x360 gamepad controls everything. Good luck!
