I discovered the cause of the disconnection, even though I have controllers set to off in the VorpX menu, if the Vive Wand trigger is accidentally pressed, then Sonic Transformed reports my Xbox controller has been disconnected. Please see if you can reproduce this error. Thanks.

I can’t seem to reproduce the error now…strange things happen in the PC world. If it happens again I will report back here.

I also retested the SWAP B and Y OFF with Bionic Commando and it works! Maybe I needed to do that manual reinstall after the last automatic update? Whatever the reason I’m glad all is working properly again, and thanks for the prompt support!

Ralph, I ran the Vorpx Web Setup manually and installed and I can’t thank you enough for your quick fix…now both grip buttons engage at about 95% but not requiring the exact 100% (or felt like 100-101% before) which is absolutely perfect! You are definitely one of my personal saviors and for many of us VR enthusiasts allowing us to play many favorite games in 3D cinema like Sonic Racing and Trine and Inside and Unravel, you are doing God’s work making us happier than we would have otherwise been without you! As a token of my gratitude for *your* talents, I share with you some of mine tinyurl.com/Victories-for-Jacob like everything else take what you find beneficial, ignore whatever isn’t. Looking forward to the eventual Swap B and Y OFF working after your restful weekend.

Ralph : Is it equally difficult for you to trigger the right grip action or is it just the left one?

Yes it is equally difficult/inconsistent to engage. I hate to say it, but maybe you can provide a percentage threshold to engage the grip buttons? Also don’t forget the swap B and Y buttons OFF option is not working verified with bionic commando rearmed, B shoots grapple only when swap B and Y is ON.

After doing some more testing I finally got the map-shift to work but I had to press it extremely hard and extremely quick. It seems as though Vorpx needs to treat the grip button as depressed at about 50% instead of 100% because even when I get it to work and keep pressing, it will revert back to the normal map! The sensitivity for the map-shift-grip-button on Oculus Rift CV1 needs to be adjusted for much easier engagement than it currently is now with latest 19.2.2.1

I’ve also tested Oculus First Contact and my grip buttons work perfectly for picking up stuff and dropping them. The Vorpx Gamepad swap B and Y option is still not working when OFF.

i already backed Pimax 8k. i hope it works with Vorpx

So did I, I backed the headset only version for $539 shipped. Later I will add steam tracking 2.0 and knuckle controllers. Will use with Vorpx and games needing gamepad only and watch 3D movies for now.

I tried Ori definitive edition…but I prefer Trine 2 much more…both gameplay needs more skill and graphics are much, much better and more colorful. If you like Ori, you’re bound to love Trine 2. It does give an error initially with Vorpx, but you just alt-tab to the error window (on your real monitor), press enter, then use mouse to select the T2 icon on your taskbar to continue.

Same thoughts I had when running Trine 2 in Immersive mode for the first time. I will give Ori a try also. Inside also works but that is a minimalist graphical game, still better in 3D mode though. I would also like Rochard and Bionic Commando Rearmed to work they are also 3D backgrounds but sideways-movements platformers.

Yes there is Cinema mode and then another larger 3D screen called Immersive mode

Update 2 : I have a i5-2500K overclocked to 4.3Ghz so for thoroughness sake I decided to go into the BIOS and turn off overclocking…it didn’t help but I also noticed another setting EXECUTE DISABLE BIT (EDB) which was set to ON, so I turned that setting OFF and now VORPX can hook VLC properly. The EDB was crashing VLC when used with VorpX this is with ASUS P8P67LE motherboard so another thing to add to troubleshooting VorpX hook crasing is turn EXECUTE DISABLE BIT to OFF because VorpX memory hooking *sometimes* triggers that feature and will prevent the program from running — even though in my case all my games worked fine only VLC crashed with EDB ON

The game completely transforms into a new Vision for the Artform, I am jaw-droppingly impressed!

Update : I tried VLC 32-bit still not working exact symptoms…also I’m using VLC 3.0.1 the latest as of this writing and in OpenGL all settings default.

I did notice an error when it starts but I just click ok on my monitor and it continues fine in the rift…maybe you should also turn off the Oculus Beta in your oculus settings, and I also use an Nvidia card if that helps.
