Ralf, for the last few versions of the standalone mod, when you activate the in-game VorpX settings menu it has not been possible to move the cursor and make selections using the motion controllers. Instead it’s necessary to use the mouse. In future versions it would be great if we could have the ability to use the motion controllers again

2023/11/02

An updated version of alpha 9c for CP2077 2.02 is available. Fixes the broken HUD scaling in the last release.

Users of the most recent vorpX beta receive an incremental auto-update, standalone users have to redownload and reinstall the mod.

Unfortunately 9c re-introduces the free-floating markets glitch. I’ve chosen to go back to 9b as I prioritise having correctly positioned markers vs ability to resize HUD. For those who need 9c, the mod ActuallyNoMoreMarkersOnScreen might help to hide the rogue markers

If you try to run it without steam vr all you get is a super wide angle screen in front of you and no vr immersion… This isnt correct. In steam vr it is near perfect usng stand alone mod but aliasing and a bit steppy. Can anyone suggest how to get it working well?

Have you tried running the mod’s config to set it to Oculus with Airlink? Presumably you need to connect your Quest to your PC’s Oculus app using Airlink, and then you launch CP2077 which the mod will set to VR via Airlink? I dont have Steam CP2077 but my Steam Starfield launches in a way similar to this

After one successful launch the app will appear in your Oculus Airlink home page as a frequently used app so that after, you can launch from there each time you make an Airlink connection

All seems to be working pretty well. Just getting latency issues/stuttering and aliasing textures. Any ideas to get it more smooth and limit the fizzing on the textures? Thanks again guys

You will need to adjust your Airlink and headset settings to reduce latency. The 4k textures from Nexus Mods I recommended in my previous post help improve how things look.

Im not using the Steam VR version so dont know for sure how your setup should be. To get basic functioning VR for CP2077, my guess would be you use the Virtual Desktop program and a dedicated router. That should be enough for basic use.

For the rest of the stuff, the terms seem confusing at first but just google them and you will progressively absorb them and understand what they mean. It’s only really needed to fine tune the performance.

Hi Ralf, as well as the on-screen markers glitch, one more thing I have noticed is that after I have activated the VorpX menu (by pressing the left and right grip buttons) I can no longer navigate the VorpX menus using the motion controllers as I could before. Now I seem to have to use the mouse (unless I have inadvertently messed up some setting?)

One further final point is to ensure that ray tracing is turned off as this will tank FPS severely

Also make sure to read the post by Ralf about setting up the resolutions for VR. Within the game I set to max video res. Turn down all the chromatic aberration, etc (see one of the stickied posts). After the game has started, click in succession the left and right grip buttons to enter the VorpX menu. You can set the quality to Phenomenal and then adjust up/down depending on performance you get

Also what headset are you using?

I am trying to get it to work on an oculus quest 2
-boot steam vr
-launch game in vr

If you could give any details of the process that would be awesome!

I use Q2 as well and connect via Airlink. Below are just my settings which may or may not work for your setup. Using Oculus Debug Tool I set Encode Res Width to 3664, Encode Dynamic Bitrate to Enabled, Dynamic Bitrate Max (& Encode Bitrate) to 480, and Offset to 256. My PC is connected directly to a wireless router which is not connected to internet and is used exclusively for VR. Q2 is set to 80 Mhz (I find it gives me better FPS in areas where CPU/GPU use is intense; you might find you are good with 90 MHz). I use Afterburner to OC the 4090. I have CP2077 GOG version so my process is to connect Q2 to the dedicated wifi router, activate Airlink, and double-click on game executable to launch

Further I go to Nexus Mods for further mods. I have updated to latest CET and use 4k textures by XilaMonstrr and the HD Reworked Project Ultra Quality by Halk Hogan. Aforementioned should get you going.

I also have HUDitor, Vanilla Plus Visual Enhancement, Simple FPS Monitor and No More Quest Markers On Screen (latter mod is a temp fix for a slight glitch VorpX currently has with the on screen markers). These shouldnt help/hinder performance and are more ‘quality-of-life’ choices

Is the Standalone VR mod working again with 2.0? Is so where can I download everything needed to play in VR? Only getting to the menu and triggers work but no buttons to get through menus to the game. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

Working for me on CP2077 2.01, using standalone VpX mod from its DL page

You might still encounter that one shader glitch you reported earlier. Haven’t looked into that yet, but it’s not forgotten.

I can confirm the glitch is still there. Thanks!

BTW in case this might help with identifying the issue, the mod ‘No More Quest Markers On Screen’ by Manual Enhancer from Nexus Mods goes some way to helping to hide the markers during play although they flash in/out when in close range of loot (eg a dead NPC with loot etc).

My Quest 2 controllers dont work if CP2077 is not the main focus on my flatscreen (ie need to maximize CP2077 on flatscreen) – just in case this applies for you

I have the GOG version and it boots fast whether pancake or the VorpX standalone mod
