dellrifter22ParticipantI’ve wondered about something similar for games like Battlefield/Battlefront, Farcrys, Medal of Honor etc, when vehicle FOV is often lower than on foot. Or when riding a horse in Witcher 3. Being able to toggle a secondary set of values might help to improve this.
It could also help for switching between fullVR and cinema modes, as I’ve found they each need their own changes to 3D strength, depth weighting, and FOV adjustment to look similar.
And it could be useful for simple A B testing while creating new profiles.
Maybe the vorpX menu box could change color to signify “Alternative Config Set Active” to help avoid confusion to witch is currently being used/changed.
Neat ideas razer, thanks. I imagine this will fall into the “nice to have” list, but we’ll see. There’s still more room on that notepad, right Ralf? :)
dellrifter22ParticipantNeat thread. Hope everyone’s enjoying their Christmas. I’ve been busy with family activities, but get to show them some vr and vorpX tomorrow. It’s gonna blow their minds 😁.
Congrats on the seven years. Looking forward to more vorpX play in the coming seven.
dellrifter22ParticipantPretty sure I just used the Flawless Widescreen app for blackops, google that if the fov changer from pcgwiki doesn’t suit.
dellrifter22ParticipantDear Santa… haha
Matt, did you finish Mad Max and all the Medal of Honors already? You’re a machine :)
Ralf said several times already he is trying hard to have Frostbite ready for Christmas. Just yesterday he said he can’t promise though, now that steamVR fixes put him a bit behind schedule. It’s probably too soon to say, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Probably worth it to wait matt, just a little longer.
Prey is CryEngine by the way, but Ralf made mention of possible G3D for that too. Will be cool if that profile can work on other CryEngine 5 games.
dellrifter22ParticipantDid you set it to Exclusive Fullscreen?
I tried just now, and default Fullscreen would not let me go above native 1920×1200, but enabling Exclusive did, 3200×2400 worked.
dellrifter22ParticipantJust last night I was testing profiles on an unsupported game, and the one which finally yielded Geometry didn’t give quite enough at 5.0
It was likely beyond sufficient for the game it was based on, but applying it to another game needed much higher values. If there’s no real danger in increasing the range I could see its uses.
On a similar note for Z-normal, I’d find more incremental half steps for near-far depth weighting useful. I often want it somewhere in between.
Also moving image zoom slider for fullVR to the main page (like the cinema screens do) would save much switching back and forth when trying to set the right fov + strength combo.
@ Stryker: Over the weekend I got 3D working for some Total War games and was able to crank up the strength. It turned into toy soldiers haha, was pretty neat looking. I posted about it here if you’re interested.
dellrifter22ParticipantValley is 90% off at $1.99 this week. Seems a steal! Will check it out soon, thanks again.
dellrifter22ParticipantLooks awesome!
Of the many neat experiences VR brings us, that seems one you can only appreciate “out there” 😁.
And though you probably feel comfortable sharing vorpX with our little niche community, more people need to try this. It’s the best kept secret of VR! The concept to play any game in VR 3D is awesome, and seems like an obvious must-have for all gamers.
As soon as I saw the first video of Skyrim on dk2, I knew vorpX VR would be my thing. Thanks for the thousands of hours enjoyed, and for the work you do to continually improve the vorpX concept. Ralf da man!
dellrifter22ParticipantFor recent Electronic Arts games you must buy from their Origin service. It’s like Uplay or steam, but EA’s own.
dellrifter22Participantyep, Z-normal is working great. FOV for starfighters is quite low, so I have to use zoomed out cinema for that.
Like matteo said, Ralf’s bringing Frostbite G3D for Christmas, so could wait for holiday sale if you’d rather.
dellrifter22ParticipantThis looks kinda neat. Gonna look for it during winter sale. Will let you know if I find a good profile.
dellrifter22ParticipantOh nice! Sounds great.
dellrifter22ParticipantHa, at first I read that as currently-on-the-way-list.
The Mafia 3 demo used to hook into game world when I tried last year, I just could never get any 3D. Trying both demo and retail now crashes after said load menu. Thanks for the heads up though. Now I know I should stop trying.
dellrifter22ParticipantThanks Ralf, I was about to try this.
vorpX is currently the only way I enjoy my games now. Even Z-normal looks great for third person games. I’m currently still playing through Assasin’s Creed Odyssey and the new Tomb Raider as well. I agree, TR is excellent in 3D!
Already planning to revisit Witcher 3, and play Witcher 2 for the first time.
Two more I’ve been trying to hook lately but so far only crash: Metal Gear Solid 5 and Mafia 3. But I’ll keep trying :) .

dellrifter22Participant@ matteo: You got me itching to play some MoH again, so I spent the weekend working profiles for a couple. Check them out here, they worked out better than I expected. Mad Max too. See what you think.
If you’re looking for some straight forward intense shooting, add these Medal of Honor to your list. Guns feel punchy and satisfying 😁
