May 10, 2020 at 8:34am in reply to: [Feature Request] Switching to Desktop (or SteamVR menu) from in game #194552DemosthenesParticipant
If you are using an Oculus headset you can already see the desktop and interact with it from Vorpx by just pressing the VR menu button on the right controller and choosing desktop view. It floats in front of the game. You can also pin desktop windows like chat, if you enable this. This is Oculus functionality, and works perfectly within Vorpx games.
I’m not sure about it when using other headsets with SteamVR’s desktop view though. I’d try OVRToolkit on Steam.
There are also other similar programs on Steam – search “OVR”.
DemosthenesParticipantI should have realised. But I also hoped most people would give it a miss, especially this year, since it is usually just foolish time-wasting stupidity rather than amusing.
DemosthenesParticipantAn unsecured http link to unknown file that has no information on any search engine and invites you to extract it and run it on your hard disk.
Do not be foolish and download this.
This is the real-life equivalent of not washing your hands.
DemosthenesParticipantAlmost certainly means Imaginator. It changes colour, contrast, saturation, applies tones etc.
It’s useful.
For original Skyrim:

For SSE:
DemosthenesParticipantSince the Deluxe Audio Strap is out of stock probably on a permanent basis, you could try the KOSS ksc75 or the KOSS Porta Pro headphones which I heard somewhere are the ones that are use in the original Oculus Rift. They are also light and cheap on Ebay/Amazon.
You can get a cheap hard plastic Vive strap replacement on ebay and attach those headphones.
DemosthenesParticipantOculus Home works fine with Vorpx and with the ‘launch automatically’ setting enabled, which is the default. I have it set to that myself.
If that is giving you trouble it’s not Vorpx but something else.
DemosthenesParticipantThe problem with such a marketing push is that it all comes with exponential stress. If things are proceeding at a nice pace why put oneself through that?
Clearer promotion of Vorpx and what it does and does not do is good, but I tend to find that most people who buy it know generally what they are getting.
The price puts some people off, but you could argue that it puts the right people off. In other words casual users rather than enthusiasts – those who want a ‘Magic VR Button’, who create more stress. You can see that in some forum posts.
Having said that DirectVR is getting closer to that in a lot of games. If there was a way to create per-game user plugins for vorpx for tracked controllers and cloud source that effort…
I just realised I mentioned stress twice, I’m probably projecting and need to have a lie down :)
DemosthenesParticipantIt hooks with the Firewatch profile, but as I suspected from screenshots, it is not a 3D game.
The backgrounds are flat 2D drawings like a traditional adventure game.On the plus side, I’ve only just sampled it and it seems excellent.
DemosthenesParticipantSpace Hulk Deathwing Enhanced Edition
Would love to see such an atmospheric FPS in VR, and none of the U4 profiles I’ve tried have worked.
Jul 16, 2019 at 4:28am in reply to: Where is official WMR support? I only see Oculus and Vive mentioned. #185845DemosthenesParticipantVorpx supports the Oculus VR Runtime and also the SteamVR system.
WMR supports SteamVR, Vorpx offically supports SteamVR, so it also supports WMR.
Vorpx’s support of SteamVR means it can [probably] support any headset that runs or can run SteamVR. Vive, Pimax, WMR etc.
If you want to know what Vorpx is really capable of look at /search the Forum, the homepage has not been refreshed or redesigned for quite a while.
DemosthenesParticipantI tried the free trial yesterday and G3D was not working – the other Z modes were.
After messing around with it for a while, I decided it was most likely the frequent updates that did it.
For anyone who didn’t get to try it: I found the game to be quite laggy sometimes even without Vorpx, but if you can ignore the shop the environments are nice and should be better later in the year with NPCs.
DemosthenesParticipantIt’s been a long time since I tried it but I’ve previously found that Voyager Elite Force 2 also works with the Elite Force 1 profile.
If I recall correctly it worked just fine with all the same features, if you rename the game executable to match the original Elite Force one.
DemosthenesParticipantYou might want to correct the spelling with a ‘K’, both in your post if still editable and especially the cloud profile, so people don’t miss it searching.
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
A lot of people praise the game so nice profile :)
DemosthenesParticipantI used reshade and superdepth3d to get a 3d sbs version with tridefvr, but as far as I remember Vorpx sbs does not really work with the same technique.
As for the profiles, I don’t remember any of them working in g3d.
DemosthenesParticipantHappy Christmas to everyone :)
May your real world be as magical as the vorpx one!
