DiverToughParticipant
I’m having a similar issue. It launches and starts on my desktop with the vorpX watermark at the bottom but doesn’t display on my screen. Battlefield 4 and Titanfall 2 both work as expected through origin and I’ve disable origin overlay inside of all origin games. Not sure what’s different about BF3.
DiverToughParticipantNot sure why this works, but whenever I start the game from the launcher a window pops up in my task bar for the game (thought it isn’t titled and is only really a program outline). If I don’t click on it, the game will stop and leave me at my desktop (which I think is what you’re experiencing). If I click on that window when it pops up, VorpX attaches and it launches. This works EVERY TIME for me. IDK. Give it a shot I guess.

DiverToughParticipantHi. Did you revert to the old build of HL2? I’ve read that you need to. I’m using the old build (I think that’s actually what it’s called under Beta list). I was having issues with split screen showing in HMD until I did this. Good luck!
DiverToughParticipantHas anyone tested this on Vive yet?
Mar 26, 2017 at 10:17pm in reply to: Star Citizen alpha 2.3.1 / Oculus SDK v1.3.0 / VorpX 16.1.2 working #127355DiverToughParticipantAnyone have success getting this working for an HTC Vive? I followed the instructions word for word. When badboy says the Oculus software should launch, my SteamVR launches, but it just takes me to my VR “home” and the game continues to run on my monitor only.
DiverToughParticipantIssue resolved. I got it working. I just uninstalled/reinstalled the mod. I hope we get tracked motion controls directly through Vorpx soon…
DiverToughParticipantGrand Theft VR mod hand controls not working since 17.0 release.
Ever since Vorpx tracked controls were integrated in version 17.0 the GTVR tracked controls don’t appear. Am I missing something? What am I doing wrong?
DiverToughParticipantRalf’s response when I asked the same question:
“@ DiverTough: vorpX can’t alter the basic control scheme that a game uses unfortunately. Unless a game supports separated aim/look either by itself (which almost no game does) or through a mod, aim and look/walk direction will stay linked to each other. Changing that would require either access to the source code or – in a handful of games with exceptional modding capabilities – a mod.
TLDR: Aim and look/walk direction will stay linked to each other in almost all games since vorpX can’t change how a game’s basic control scheme is working.”
So I take this to mean that for gaming it will be for button emulation only. No aiming or swinging a battle axe with our vive-motes.
DiverToughParticipantI figured. Thanks for the hard work, Ralf. Looking forward to the update regardless.
DiverToughParticipantGreat news, Ralf. Really looking forward to the vive controller support. Am I too hopeful to think that I will actually be able to aim by moving the vive controller, or will it be straight button emulation with no tracking capability?
DiverToughParticipantAwesome, Ralf! Will this update also include the vive-mote controls? Will I be able to finally play Skyrim the way it was meant to be played?! Even if you have to lie to me, just say yes.
DiverToughParticipantReally looking forward to giving it a go, Ralf! You have my money the day it’s released, and I know many fellow redditers feel the same way. Keep up the hard work.
