I suggest don’t go into the game menu when you start the game. If you do need to change the settings in the in game menu, change it once and then restart the game from Windows. I’m having the same issue as others where the fps will drop and only fixes after I exit and restart the game.

Try turning Overylay off and also disable Motion Smoothing in the VR settings in SteamVR. If you haven’t disabled Asynchrounous Spacewrap in Oculusdebugtool.exe, please disable it to keep a higher Framerate. My game runs smooth on the Rift S and getting stable 70-80 fps. Only when the place is crowded will it dip.

    Ralf,

Thanks for the advices, the games runs super smooth with the Touch controllers now as well as the Dualshock 4. However, I prefer the touch as it kinda gives a better right analog aiming accuracy/sensitivity.

To other players wanting a similar setup, please use my Profile Frenchiebong. it’s optimal for 1080p gameplay. I’m sure it’ll also work with 1440p resolutions for the stronger PC users. I’m getting almost consistent 75-80fps (80 is max on Rift S) only when there are tons of monsters or when the Daughters attack you will it dip below that. It’s still very smooth and playable. I haven’t tried other profiles yet but I’ll see what other users have uploaded as well and keep improving on the settings. Kudos to Ralf once again for this wonderful Software.

Highly recommend letting your friends know about VorpX if they are eager to play all future and past games in VR!

I would suggest turning off motion smoothing in steamVR as well because that on top pf ASW in Oculus were giving me trouble.

Also Ralf when using gamepad, do I have to change the input settings to gamepad and not keyboard and mouse? Doesn’t seem to make a difference as I still have to map according to keyboard and mouse keys.

Is it possible to default back to steam when using the gamepad? Steam already has native support for dualshock and xbox controllers and the aim sensitivity is miles better than the mapping in VorpX.

Thanks! I tried and the shortcuts and healing works.
However, I can’t access the map, the start menu and also the crafting menu. Do I have to map new keys for those?

    Hi Ralf,

Just wondering what’s that message showing in red when i open a game in VorpX? Can’t read it because it’s too fast and it begins like this “Low performance blah blah blah…”

Also, my touch controller image keep showing in my headset. Is there any way to hide it? It’s right in the middle of my HMD.

    Hi Ralf,

I tried the Touch controllers with the game. Eventhough it works great, however, the touch controllers does not have enough buttons to add every commands for the game. (The d-pad for quick shortcuts of weapons). I still think it maybe easier to play this on mouse and keyboard or on the Xbox controller. (I tried on the dualshock 4 but it has some mapping issues that cannot be fixed or configured, also the right analog aiming is kinda off and moves to fast and not so precise) I am thinking about dishing for a xbox one wired controller for future games.

I think you can turn of ASW in the Oculusdebugtool.exe and the frames will remain same and not tank to half the amount.

You don’t have to fix anything in the VorpX menu. It’s already on Device(off).

The steam overlay isn’t giving me any issues and still get a 70-80fps on my Rift S (80 is the max on this headset).

The game is running super smooth. Make sure you guys disable the ASW option in Oculus.

I’m also loving the Profile that ParadiseDecay has made. Check out his Youtube video with Res8 and you’ll greatly appreciate it with anything less than a RTX 2070 Super. (you’ll still see a slight background top and bottom but the resolution and clarity makes it the best settings) I tried playing around but this is the most clear I can get from my spec and Rift S.

I believe it’s automatically injected. Or go to local profiles and search resident evil village.

And I’d tested the Scope thing, seems like after I disabled the 2nd monitor, it doesn’t mess the game up! Omg, VorpX and Ralf is amazing! Also thanks to ParadiseDecay for the new Profile. It really work wonders for people who owns a RTX 2070 or lesser GPU. Love the look of the 3D as well as the smoothness of the game. (Gets around 68-80fps on 1080p) Game still looks sharp and beautiful.

    Hi Ralf,

Do I need to change the DirectVR resolution in the VorpX in game menu to match the Monitor resolution settings in Nvidia Panel?

Also, do I set the game in Full Screen, Windowed or Borderless window? I can run the game smoothly with native monitor resolution and refresh rate. Of course at 1080p it’s not as clear and good looking. I’m trying to OC my rtx 2060 to see if I can handle 2560 x 1440p. Is there a difference between 2560 x 1440p vs 1920 x 1440p? I know one is 4:3 ratio and the other is 16:9..
I would also try disabling my 2nd monitor as I heard it may interfere with the refresh rate when setting the resolution higher than the monitor’s native. (1080p is 144hz maxed, 1440p and it caps at 60hz, even in game)

    Hey,

I’m using Nvidia RTX 2060. I tried the method in the VorpX instruction to create a 2560 x 1440p resolution (My monitor is a 25 inch 1080p) For some reason, the textures in the game will have a silouette (especially the guns) It also run unstable and will mess up my previous displayed resolution settings in game (i have to adjust it everytime i quit and play the game) I also notice it throws my game performance down, but this could be the fact my rtx 2060 is a lower end card in 2021. I’m still glad i can play this on 1080p with around 50-60 ish fps on Z3D.

I’ll try again with the resolution but I don’t know why it kinda messed up with the texture in the game and causes crashes sometimes. But at 1080p, my monitor can run on 144hz (eventhough i only get around 50-60fps) I really wish i can run on higher resolution, at least 1920 x 1440. When the resolution is set at 1440p (1920 and 2560) the game 3D looks like it’s flickering and gives me nausea.

I think when I’m inside the menu in game and I move the cursor out, it’ll be back out to Windows on my other monitor. (Not 100% positive, but i’ll test it out and let you know)
One in game issue, when I use the Scope Aim with the sniper rifle, the game will act very weird. It’ll kick me out of the aim sequence and then kinda mess up the aiming movement. Just wondering if other people are experiencing it? I tried using flat mode and it doesn’t act this way.

    Hi Ralf,

Thank you so much for the help!
Also, sometimes my in game cursor and controls will be stopped and I’ll be moving the cursor in my other Monitor instead (I’m using 2 monitors) It’ll suddenly dropped back out and I can’t move the in game controls (cursor, mouse, etc) Is there a way to fix this? other than that this is working flawlessly!

    Hi Ralf,

Thanks for clearing the issue for me. It’s fixed now!
However, I’m having difficulty deciding between pixel 1:1 or letterbox 1. Letterbox seems more clear, is this the way to go?
Also, I’m using the dualshock 4 but the button mappings are a mess. Is it possible to have a mod for it or fix it using a profile? I’d tried to find the settings to change the mappings but with no luck.
Or is it better to use mouse and keyboard? I found it hard to navigate menus with the mouse because the Headset will move around the cursor. Is it possible to turn off head tracking during menus?

    Thanks

    Hi Ralf,

I’m new to VorpX, i tried the resident evil 8 profile and still I can see the Grey Background using that profile. I’m using Full Vr Screen settings. Is this normal? Is it possible to get rid of the Grey Background? Thanks
