ParticipantYea, I’ve never played the top view classic ones. The shooter from 2012 though is criminally under-rated.

ParticipantThanks, appreciate the fix. Ouch about RDR2
Jarilo
ParticipantI don’t wanna Necro this but Syndicate would be incredible with G3D in VR. Anyone have any luck?
Jarilo
ParticipantI would like to just confirm that the F.E.A.R Dynamic Shadows fix also fixes the same shadow issue in Condemned:Criminal Origins. It’s amazing now with the shadows on. Ralf, thank you, you beautiful human being.

Thanks, I tried other games and they hooked fine like before. I only use Windows Defender. RE2 recently had an update to the game to remove some anti piracy stuff and add things. I think that’s what did it and it just hangs at the intro screen. I’ll mess with it some more and see. Thanks.Jarilo
ParticipantThe game uses “insert” key to open the menu and for you to see it you have to use edge peek. I played it for about 35 hours, but I don’t know if the recent RE2 update or if the VorpX update has broken the game for me and it just locks up at the Capcom screen. Using alternate hook method works but then the keyboard and the mouse do not work. Only the down arrow key and space/enter work.

ParticipantLooks good but I’m having issues hooking into some games I was able to before, like RE2 Remake.

Go figure lol
Thanks for the updates Ralf!Nov 3, 2019 at 6:01pm in reply to: Resident Evil 2+G3D+FPS mod+VorpX=incredible but can’t BARTER for fps #189629Jarilo
ParticipantJust one more note: I know G3D is expensive and to the point it can cut the FPS in half, however RE2 remake can run in 4k max settings at 60+ fps on the flat screen with ease, people do that even with a 1060 in some cases at 1440p.
Jarilo
ParticipantGoing to have to give this a try soon then. RE2 with the FPS works well too but the performance is bad, how is the frame rate in G3D?

ParticipantDon’t mean to bump the thread if it’s old but I recently got the game. It runs and works with the first person mod, ( however the zoom-in FOV change during aiming is terrible). It looks good in Full VR first person and G3D , but it’s incredibly hard to barter for performance, in-fact you can’t. The game supposedly is well optimized, running it on flat screen I can get over 60 fps at 4k on max settings on the 1080 ti! so what gives in VorpX? I set everything to off, res is 1920×1080, under-sampled to .70 in-game settings, it looks like a mess and still it dips to frames as low as 40 to 50. I know G3D is expensive, but with how well it runs on the flat monitor one would think I could barter with the settings to attain 90 or 80 fps.

ParticipantF.E.A.R profile guys, it’s the lithtech engine. Dynamic shadows are off, just like F.E.A.R they only display in one eye but the game has great static shadows and you won’t notice the loss.

ParticipantNothing ever looks good in Z3D to me when it’s first person. Things look strange up close and not 3d in the distance. Blair Witch is a demanding game? that’s strange.
Jarilo
ParticipantDoes Blair Witch Hook ?
Jarilo
ParticipantLooks as if the game now has some SteamVR detection built in. Fails to load even with only SteamVR running but not vorpX.
There is an easy workaround though: closing SteamVR before lauching the game should do the trick. It will auto start when vorpX initialises the headset.
I’ll try to find an automated solution. If that that should prove unfeasible, I’ll add an according start hint to the next vorpX version.
Thanks Ralf for checking it out. Thanks for the work around and if anyone is really having trouble running it still, “the previous public build” under beta options in Steam also run the old version that works, as long as it’s there at least.
