jjenssonParticipantCorrection: Not Luke Ross said that about RDR2, but the possibility remains. :)
jjenssonParticipantCounting the days for it myself. Apart from perhaps the new Jedi game, this is the only game I’m looking forward to anymore this holiday. Almost as excited as I was for Witcher 3.
Haha, we seem to have the same taste in games. I can’t wait to play Jedi: Fallen Order, and Red Dead Redemption 2 is also on my list of the best games of 2019.
It would be a tragedy if those two games don’t work in VorpX, because there is almost nothing new worthwhile to play these days.
That said, there is guy (i think his name is Luke Ross) on Reddit who just published a VR mod for GTA5 that works without VorpX. He also said that it should be theoretically possible to do the same thing for RDR2. Don’t nail me on the details, but those infos are quite fresh and can be found on the Oculus and VirtualReality reddits.
jjenssonParticipantThe backgrounds are flat, OK. But the characters are surely in front of the background, aren’t they? No 3D at all?
jjenssonParticipantWatching this thread. :)
jjenssonParticipantMaybe the usual starting profile for Unity games (for example Firewatch)?
I’d like to make sure it works, *before* i buy the game. :)
jjenssonParticipanthow do I prevent the game from going to third person?
Haha… You can’t. That’s why i stopped playing that game.
But who knows, maybe there’s a mod for this issue, although i’m skeptical. Fans of the game don’t see it as issue at all, it’s quite maddening.
jjenssonParticipantCool, i’ll try that out. Worst case i’ll just use nVidia driver level ambient occlusion to give the bland geometry a bit more realism and depth.
Didn’t know that FO:NV runs that well with VorpX. It certainly makes me wanna play it even more now. :)
Thanks for the infos.
PS: Gotta be careful with the alternative hooking. Recently discovered that i forgot it “on” and the VorpDesktop didn’t work anymore. (Not that i use it much anyway – turns out the Oculus one works well enough for my needs and is easier to access…)
jjenssonParticipantI have higher CPU usage with idle VorpX in the background as well. But with my i7 6700k it’s only 6-7%. I always wondered if this is intended…
It’s probably a bad idea anyway to let VorpX always running. I always close it when i’m done.
Let’s wait and see if Ralf has some infos on this.
jjenssonParticipantCan’t remember specifics about Dishonored 2 anymore. But, you could try to find a setting to disable head-bobbing.
jjenssonParticipantAlso note that we’ve yet to hear a success story from playing any game through the Windows Store.
Isn’t Gears 5 available on Steam as well?
jjenssonParticipantWow, that’s amazing! It’s greatly appreciated, and a real gold mine for any VorpX user.
jjenssonParticipantAre the shadows glitchy in G3D mode? Does it work in Z3D mode?
Usually i’m skeptical with new games, but after the review by Laymen Gaming, this got my interest.
jjenssonParticipantThanks Ralf! Focal Offset worked like a charm. I had to lower it until i reached -12 and the dialogue + quest messages + names/descriptions became readable outside of menus.
Didn’t notice anything breaking (yet) after one hour of playing, and even had the feeling of enhanced 3D effect (but don’t quote me on that :-D ).
jjenssonParticipantFantastic! I hope there are enough people out there that have the knowledge to dive into this.
jjenssonParticipantThe problem is that in the Image Settings page i have only 4 enties, like brightness, sharpening etc, but no HUD related settings.
Did you mean some other page? I looked in every page of the vorpX ingame menu, but couldn’t find anything.
