ParticipantI also got frustrated with that game. Tried everything with no success. So it is still in my list of unplayed games. But recently I tried immersive screen. That works really well and you have still the 3D view. I guess I will play the game in that mode and it will be fun.

ParticipantThe graphics are of course outdated, but still pretty good. The world is detailed, nice and you can use a lot of stuff there. For example with telekinese fetch a barrel, throw it on some structure and this breaks apart.
3D/VR effect is almost perfect, feels like native support.
Controls are the main thing, I play with keyboard and mouse now, never did that in a VR game.
Its really great.

ParticipantThe game uses the Void engine, it is the same engine as D2 uses. I copied that and made a new profile for DOTO. The games starts well, looks okay, but the FOV is messed up. I tried the usual setting changes but without success.
Finally I play this now with immersive screen and there the FOV is no problem. Its just using the controller’s right stick as your head movement, so it is playable.

ParticipantI do not like the native scene. Most of the games are experimental and last 2-3 hours. Just now I play Dishonored 2 and Jedi Fallen Order with VorPx, those are top games and I want to play good games.
Also many games are designed for the Quest, and there are many casual gamers.
Concerning PS5: since this is a closed system, does anybody know whether Sony delivers some suppoert for developers who want to make their games hybrid? If they dont do we will simply not see many hybrid games.
Also I hope for some remakes on the PS5 for VR. They do all kind of remakes for the last of us or GTA 5, a version for PSVR 2 would be appreciated.
As I said I think hybrid gaming is the future, native games will never be really successful.
JochenH
ParticipantThat hybrid support is exactly what I hope for. To develop VR only games is risky because of the smaller market, but when a game only gets an extension for VR than we will see AAA games going hybrid. The Last of Us, Assassins Creed etc. could be just great with VR support. Maybe even FIFA soccer can work with it, but of course still with normal controller.

ParticipantI admit that I considered vorpX a bit too “chatty”. At least I will consider now the advices when a game does not do what I want.
By the way: I am especially happy about the look of Dishonored 2 now. Dishonored 1 was my favorite vorpX game and I really wanted the second part look an play well. The game is pretty long and also has a big addon, you also can play as Corvo or Emily, so 100+ hours of gameplay are here.

ParticipantSo Ralf I am sorry to make you upset! In fact I am a long time user of Vorpx and I read all stuff carefully. I added custom resolutions long time ago, I remember I did that when I had problems with Bioshock Infinite a year ago.
But I added much more custom resolutions yesterday. At least that shouldnt hurt, right?
I restarted Deus Ex HR then and could really change the quality from decent to ultra. Before it did not work! The game also looks now much better.
I later tried Dishonored 2, which also seems to take profit from the new resolutions. It now looks as good as it gets for a game not having geometry 3D.
Also Mass Effect Legendary works now much better with the new resolutions.
I guess that I did not add the very high resolution options before, also I added some fancy 5:4 or 8:9 resolutions now.
JochenH
ParticipantI managed now to optimize everything. Graphics is still bad because of lacking Geometry mode, but gameplay is same good as the first part.
It is still very immersive and fun to play.
JochenH
ParticipantI know there were a lot of threads about Dishonored 2 and 3D Geometry. So my purpose was to deal with the other 3D options. Thank you for the launch options, I will try them.
Concerning gameplay it is just great with Vorpx! To move around in those environments is so much better with VR than on a flat screen. I managed to tweak the options a bit more so I have an “okay” experience concerning graphics.
JochenH
ParticipantSince Greedfall is 3rd person: is it still good to play after you tried longer?
Are menus, controls, headtracking okay? I only want to play full 3D, not Cinema mode.
JochenH
ParticipantSo did anyone let it successful run with VorPx?
JochenH
ParticipantI dont like to play this with mouse and keyboard. It takes away immersiveness!
Is there no chance to get head tracking activated? In fact it already works with the mouse to look around. The other thing es the graphics. It looks kind of poor and I cannot change. Since I have a Nvidia 3070 GPU seems should be better. What can I do here?
JochenH
ParticipantRalf thank you so much. I started the game without VorPX and changed the FOV to max. When I started the game with VorPx the warping effect was gone. Then I changed the graphic quality on the VorPx ingame menu. That makes the game look really good now.
So my problems are solved, it just looks and plays great.
JochenH
ParticipantThank you for this “superfast” reply! To make sure I do the right thing: FOV is a slider in the graphic options of the game, it is not maxed. When I start the game I always need to max it by hand. So I change this in the games menu and not in the VorPx menu.
Same holds for resolution. It always starts with 4:3 in window and 640×480, I change that immediately after starting the game.
Do I need to start the game one time without VorPx, change those parameters and then it will be fixed? Or do I need to change anything in the VorPx menu?
JochenH
ParticipantIs there some update? Does someone work on a profile for Mafia remake?
