Played bit more of it, actually it seems there are only few shadows that don’t work properly, most seem ok and haven’t seen other issues with geometry mode. Shadow fix doesn’t seem to be there and if it doesn’t take too much time, maybe include it in the next update?

Z3D works good too but if there are only minor issues with geometry mode I’ll continue with it…… that is if I can. This game seriously scares the shit out of you. :D

Bought this from steamsale and I have the same problem, some shadows render differently on left/right eye, also I noticed when I ran the optimizer it missed one of the “bsmoothframerate” settings and had to change it manually.

So any way to fix the shadow issue, otherwise it seems to run good with vorpX.

Cant get out of cinema mode? Always worked for me changing from the vorpx menu and zooming in/out with middle mouse.

Actual specs of the Computer and the game being used? check the fps also.

If I understand your question correctly it is just the way normal fps games works. Look isn’t decoupled from the walking direction, you would have to have native rift game to achieve this or allready implemented in the game.

I guess the current vorpX version isn’t 0.6sdk compatible so any idea how long for the next version, short or long wait until it is supported by vorpX? :)

I just remembered that Im also using the non steam version and the optimizer applied the settings correctly.

Non default locations are problem in some games for me too, maybe it could be possible in future versions to navigate to the config files manually to apply the changes or add information in the optimizer what values need to be changed so someone can do them manually.

I think the optimizer changes the DirectX mode to 9 and fov settings. Teso online in vr is very demanding, if you are running on high graphic settings, try lowering them and observe the fps ingame. AA kills performance in many vr games, I can’t test this myself anymore since I don’t have the game at the moment.

When I have problems I double check that everything has right settings. Sometimes even games adjust their config files themselves so making the config file read only after changing the settings might help in some cases. Apply the optimizer patch, if that works, make the config file read only and remember to check that resolution is at 1920×1080.

Thanks, previously I had expert options enabled but had to reinstall so they weren’t availabe, have to check those “old” features now.

Im using geometry mode, ofc with zbuffer you could get bit more performance but the geometry mode is obviously more immersive. I can run high preset in game and disabled antialiasing and dropped shadows down one notch and then its pretty much at 75fps. Using the same gpu here as immersive gamer so 290x.

If I had more time I might pick up the full game, really immersive experience with vorpx and nice 3D soundfield aswell with my Sound Blaster Z.

I tested it because of the free weekend, 3D in in it looks good, but the only problem is performance, you will need a really nice computer to run in smoothly.

Ok so I was trying to use the Crysis64.exe instead of Crysis.exe, after changing to 32bit version it hooked up correctly.

The funny thing is that as I suspected the fps isn’t great but for some reason it still runs much smoother than most games I played. Others usually require that 75fps to get smooth headtracking but this one is still playable with much less.

Anyway thanks for the help, Crysis looks really nice with geometry 3d and I recommend anyone who has this game and vorpx to try it out. No major glitches found during brief testing, only some black bars(?) during cut scene but while player controlled looked really nice. :)

Tried launching it in dx9 mode but vorpx still says, “this game is not currently supported etc etc”

Well not really a big deal since this game is still very demanding and propably couldn’t play it with geometry 3d anyway. :)
