lipplogParticipantI’ve also turned off shadow cache, Dynamic shadows, and set shadows to very low. Now the shadows just flicker like crazy. And the studdering is still there.

lipplogParticipantHere is all you need to know. Make sure to watch the original video first. There are time codes in the description: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L42LPbcnS64&list=PL7wZ82bhoGB6UOA-1_aUc3QHwMVeEjNv4&index=10
The FOV hack app posted in this video is nowhere to be found. Does anyone have a copy they can post for download?

lipplogParticipanthi im new in vorpx. Its possible to download game setting of other user?
Yes. Go to the cloud profiles in your VorpX configuration app, and type in resident evil 7. There are a lot to choose from.
lipplogParticipantThanks Ralf! You rock!
lipplogParticipantIs this list current? Does VorpX still work with the Stanley Parable?

lipplogParticipantDid you ever figure this out?
lipplogParticipantOr does the VRgin patch require using the Vive controller to distinguish body positioning, as described in this thread…?

lipplogParticipantI suggest you try the VRGIN unity plugin for the Landmark edition. Brings “native” support to Dear Esther.

And here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/72jfik/dear_esther_landmark_edition_working_natively_in/
I played Dear Esther on the DK2 with vorpx and it was great. This unity plugin with the Landmark Edition is excellent.
I actually tried this. And there was something very wrong with it. Whenever I turned my head, my body stayed stuck in the initial direction. So when I walked forward, I would walk sideways or backwards, until I turned my head back to the original position. That and the Vive controllers are useless. Unless there’s something I’m not doing after applying the patch.
lipplogParticipantI was just assuming it would be included. Bought the game before the landmark edition and got it for free when it was released, so I assumed you would also get both when you buy the LE now.
Okay. So I bought the landmark edition from steam again. And there is no source version included. Oddly enough, the game can boot in stereoscopic mode without VorpX, but the controls are not that great. No decoupled. When I try running it in VorpX, it doesn’t even recognize VorpX is there. Strange.
I would love to play it in VorpX. Please let me know if you get around to it. Thanks in advance!
lipplogParticipantIsn’t the Source engine version included when you purchase the landmark edition? That definitely was the case the other way around.
Let me know if not. In that case I’ll take a look at the landmark edition. The game is quite nice in VR.
I can’t find anything on the game page about the original source being included. Can you confirm this, Ralf? If it’s there I’m definitely buying it back.
lipplogParticipantThe Unity Engine is always good for (unpleasent) surprises, so I can’t really predict what may be possible, but it’s worth looking into. Dear Esther is a great title for VR.
What I can say for sure is that there will be full Direct VR (rotation/position/fov) for the regular Source engine version with the next vorpX update, so even basic roomscale gameplay will be possible.
The steam store doesn’t seem to sell the original source version anymore. Or is it included in the Landmark Version? If not, any idea where I can find a copy of the original?
lipplogParticipantOh crap. I just bought the wrong version. Looks like I’m gonna test out steams return policy.
EDIT: Damn! I returned it only to discover the original version is no longer available. What am I missing?
lipplogParticipantMake sure to use either the Steam or the GOG version of the game. Direct VR is partially version dependent for Q3 engine games. Old CD versions may not work.
I’m playing the steam version. I downloaded the latest profile, but directVR fails in the rotation stage. Any idea what the issue might be?
lipplogParticipantOh yes, of course you can’t purchase it with the subject matter.
Anyway it works now, much thanks.
DirectVR is a real accomplishment and improves VorpX no end.
How did you get DirectVR to work? It fails during Rotation every time for me.
Did you download and apply the latest profile for Wolfenstein?
lipplogParticipantWelcome to VorpX! Have you run the game through all the steps in the setup? Downloaded the game profile? Optimized the settings? Applied any suggested manual tweaks? If the game is Direct VR compatible, you have to run that before the game resolution will look right.
And don’t be discouraged about the tweaking. Once you get the right settings for a game, it’s totally worth it.
