You’re right. I’ve been trying different resolutions in the GONE HOME game menu, and the image looks better. I must have disabled something without knowing. I’d be much obliged if you could direct me to where I can reenable it.

As for BLACK MESA, I’m still stuck. Reinstalled via Steam. Disabled Windows Defender. Reset VorpX to factory default. The game works outside VR, but refuses to boot if VorpX is running. Here are my steps…

    1. I hit “Play”.
    2. Steam warns it’s not VR compatible, and I click “Okay”.
    3. The “Play” button turns into “Launching”.
    4. A few seconds later, “Launching” turns back into “Play”.

    Thanks for your patience, Ralf!

Oh wait… Is Gone Home suppose to have DirectVR? Because there’s no DirectVR option in the VorpX menu. If that’s the case, then I’m having the same issue as a year ago. Where some DirectVR games don’t have the DirectVR option.

    Thanks for the reply.

Can you recommend a screen resolution and ratio for Gone Home and Slender? Maybe that’s my problem.

As for Black Mesa, it’s crashing at startup. I’ll try disabling Windows defender and see if that does it.

Oh, and is there an updated list of DirectVR games? Or is list in the link Nelson up to date?

Yes, FOV all the way up no mods. Let vorpx take care of the rest. Unless you’ve changed a lot, in that case import the four packs game profile from cloud section in VorpX Control panel.

how does re7 work and what do you do to change anything or what is needed? Re7 vr much needed. ps4 only.

Resident Evil 7 should already work. Like all games with DirectVR support, you boot the game, open the in-game VorpX setttings, and click on the DirectVR option. It should automatically fix the FOV. If the FOV isn’t perfect, that means the developers put a lock on it, and you need a small mod/hack. I’m not home right now, so if activating DirectVR at game startup doesn’t resolve it, let me know.

Okay. Removed the mod, could t find anything that said command line.txt, but it still boots in 800×600, and crashes when I try changing it. So can you tell me where I can find the data you need?

    Thanks!

Let vorpX handle the resolution, which is the default way of doing this in newer vorpX versions. If you do, it sets an even narrower resolution than 4:3/5:4. Helps with performance.

Unfortunately, the game keeps booting in 800×600. And if I try to change it, the game crashes. Just to be sure, I imported the VorpX cloud settings, and have the same issue.

This guy has. But he may be using the other VR mod. The one that doesn’t have 3D.

    Hi Ralf,

Is a 5:4 or 4:3 ratio with an H1280 W1024 or H1600 W1200 resolution still the recommended settings?

Hi Im using the gtavr mod http://grandtheftvr.com/ with vorpx and it’s ALMOST working great. The fov is just way too wide and the fov settings in vorpx have not effect when you change them. Is there something special i need to do get these fov controls to work?

    Hey importon,

I had the same issue with the GTA VR mod warping the FOV. I fixed it by changing the Image zoom option in the in-game VorpX settings to 1.20.

I’ve been complaining about this for months, but no one seems to know what I’m taking about. It’s like the far edges of view are just a little bit warped when you look around, right?

Sorry if it’s been covered, but is anyone successfully running the grandtheftvr.com mod? Whenever I add the mod, the screen is warped around the edges. I’ve tried multiple resolutions, but nothing seems to correct it except for deleting the mod.
