Which Doom are you referring to? Doom 2016 or Doom from the 90s?

Minecraft is a good example of a game that a modern studio wouldn’t touch but has had the longevity and engagement that surpasses your Fallouts and your GTAs.

Indeed. Minecraft is amazing in VR with the Vivecraft mod too.

I also disagree. I had some incredible VR gaming experiences in Star Trek: Bridge Crew, Ironwolf VR, Bullets and More, Pavlov, Onward, Vivecraft, Raw Data, Climbey, The Art of Fight, Quell 4D, Warpaint, Elite, and Battlezone.

On the other hand I’ve also been having a blast playing New Vegas for 95 hours and counting using VorpX. I love both VorpX and native VR games.

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is a Unreal Engine 4 game you could try.

I too need to chime in to say that I’ve been having an absolute blast with VorpX since March 2017 and I’ve been playing New Vegas in it non stop 100% in VR. It’s absolutely fantastic. We love the work you’re doing Ralf. I am pumped about the next VorpX update!

You can still make it 3D in cinema mode and may be recommended for third person games. Are 3D options available to you in that game when you press the delete key?

I agree with OP. I’d love to see VorpX updated more frequently.

Is there anyway for you to develop some sort of SDK that’ll allow other developers to add Direct VR support without compromising the rest of your app’s source code? I know you are protective of your software, and I respect that completely and am wondering if there’s still some sort of outsourcing opportunity that could occur that still protects your IP.

Has anyone tried VorpX with the original Neverwinter Nights?

The game is still very buggy in non vr mode even with my 1080ti 32gb ram & i76800k… i doubt it’ll play any time soon in vr lol.

What do you mean by buggy?

Direct VR scanning for New Vegas, Skyrim, etc gives a very near native VR feeling experience. I’m having a blast playing New Vegas at the moment.

Is Rocket League really capped at 45 frames per second? Can it be uncapped to 90 if we have the hardware to do that?

Is it theoretically possible to do Z3D/G3D on games that normally work with fine Tridef even if they’re not officially supported by VorpX by copying profiles like suggested by Ralf?

In other words: Would I be wasting my money buying Tridef and using it with virtual desktop? Would using VorpX on anything that works with Tridef essentially accomplish the same thing if I am looking for a virtual screen with at least Z3D support?

Has anyone managed to get any sort of 3D working with Unreal Engine 4 games? I’m mainly interested in seeing if it’s possible to get playerunknown’s battlegrounds working on a virtual screen with Z3D or even G3D. Unreal engine 3 games work great with VorpX.

I’m basically addicted to using my headset and I can’t imagine playing games on a flat monitor.

I have been playing Fallout New Vegas for 40 hours now using VorpX with a Direct VR scan and I personally would never go back to playing it on a flat computer monitor.

I disagree that it’s like looking at a 3D screen with head tracking. I feel the same sort of presence that I do with native VR games sans motion controls.

Although I am using mouse and keyword with New Vegas, New Vegas is a very immersive game in its own right which more than makes up for the lack of motion controls by having some very deep gameplay. The extra layer of immersion by adding position, rotational, and geometric stereoscopy makes this an experience that I enjoy just as much as my standing and room scale native VR games.

Highly recommended. Hell I’d even be willing to pay Ralf a monthly fee through patreon or even paypal if it helps him add Direct VR support, or at the very least Z buffer 3D support, to more games.

I almost feel like the $40 is too little for the great experience I’ve been having. I certainly feel like I am having more bang for my buck than paying $30 to play Rick and Morty for 90 minutes.

The crashing was a fluke. The games runs stable for several hours each time. I just need to do a Direct VR scan on an earlier save game and then load my latest save game.

I have an almost identical configuration to the OP (GTX 1080, monitor in DVI port, Vive in HDMI port, etc) except that I do keep steam running and VorpX works far better than I had expected.

OP you should click “Start VorpX” and then in your system tray make sure your watcher is enabled. Then start a supported game. Personally I suggest a Direct VR supported game like Fallout New Vegas since it’s the easiest to test and configure. Start a Direct VR scan once you enter the game level and NOT during the menu or anything like that.

As soon as you start the game, VorpX should show you an overlay in your VR headset as well as the game itself.

Yeah disabling Crystal Imaging will fix this problem.
