How do you report it as a false positive with Windows defender? Or does excluding it already do that?

“I stopped playing because of many crashes, too. I will try i again when patch 1.05 is released for PC. I will try to solve the Problem by trial and error in the game settings, Nvidia drivers and Mainboard Bios settings. With my Hardware Specs (Ryzen 7 + RTX 3080) the most important things are to clean all CP77 related files on the SSD and do a clean boot of Windows and do a fresh install of the game without any manual changes in the settings and let Geforce Experience choose the settings of the game. Mods and extra FOV settings are crashing every 10 Minutes. In 4:3 or 16:10 i have the best results in exclusive Fullscreen and 2880×2160 and 3456×2160 until today. I wish that the patch 1.05 will prevent my crashes. All of my numerous other games working decent !”

Any chance Geforce Experience is causing the problem? I’ve had issues with that in the past and ended up uninstalling it. Also for me personally, all of my crashing issues with Cyberpunk stopped when I started using a borderless window in Cyberpunk. It’s been running smooth like butter ever since.

“Without g3d its got paper mario levels of 3D. Looks terrible and obviously causes even more bugs. I have yet to find a game thats even slightly more enjoyable with vorpx after 30 mins.”

Personally I love the 3D effect. Works great for this type of graphically intense AAA game and looks good enough for me even though I do agree that G3D has better 3D reconstruction albeit with a major performance hit. But honestly the Z3D effect looks fantastic on Cyberpunk. Feels like an extremely well 3D done conversion of a movie shot in 2D (Edge of Tomorrow or Dr Strange for example) and with minimal performance impact.

Also I already have 22 hours with VorpX in Cyberpunk (Z3D). 110 hours in Rocket League (G3D) And 250 hours in New Vegas (G3D; Direct VR, stood room scale using a wireless Xbox).

With Cyberpunk I am playing this on my Vive with VorpX instead of playing on my 70 inch 4k TV that the PC is hooked up to.

@ Kaaliba I had problems like what you described when I ran Cyberpunk full screen. It would constantly lose focus and FPS would drop. But I set it to run in a borderless window and it seems to run much better now. Try that and see if it helps. I’m on Vive though.

When a profile is updated, do I need to do anything if it’s updated without a new VorpX build being pushed?

    @Ralf

I decided to do a factory default reset just to play it safe. However I noticed that after the factory reset, the Z3D settings are still set to 2.0 (though it did reset back to VR view from my immersive screen mode). Didn’t you mention that you reduced the Z3D settings slightly under 2.0 for the latest Cyberpunk profile or did I misunderstand something?

“I was referring to being able to tolerate lower FPS on those modes, where in full VR, you need to have higher FPS to not puke.”

Fluidsync which is VorpX’s built in reprojection system helps address that pretty effectively.

Also I just got the new VorpX update about the old version corrupting VorpX configs if you used a gamepad. I did briefly use a gamepad with Cyberpunk and even used it to access VorpX overlay menu but I don’t believe I saved any settings though I can’t remember for sure. What are the symptoms of a corrupt VorpX config?

I ending up finding mouse and keyboard more comfortable for Cyberpunk in VorpX and it’s been running fine, so I don’t think my VorpX settings are corrupt. I had Cyberpunk randomly crash on me before, but I fixed that by using a borderless window. Now it’s super stable, performs great, and even looks great.

I still don’t understand why some people say headset resolution is too low on the Vive for virtual screens. 1080p output into the headset (which is in theory more like 480p due to optical magnification) still looks better than 1080p when output to my 70 inch 4k Sharp tv using the TV’s built in scaler such as when I use the Nintendo Switch on my TV with a 1080p supported game like Mario Odyssey.

In comparison 1080p content looks super nice in my Vive without any annoying aliasing. Text is probably the only part that feels like 480p content due to how blurry it looks, but everything else looks fantastic and the perceived resolution looks better than 480p. And headset resolution is only getting better with models like the HP Reverb2.

“Your profile database should update automatically, I don’t think you need to do anything, you are always using the current profile.
Yeah, I prefer cinema/immersive modes too for the same reasons. Plus performance.”

But my Z3D settings are still 2.0 (which I personally like) and my custom settings of using immersive screen is still there (which I also like).

Also like Ralf said, in my experience the performance is exactly the same in VR mode vs immersion screen. I only prefer immersive screen because it’s way better for the GUI since you no longer need edgepeek and there is no harm in immersion. It may even be more immersive since it doesn’t require perfect FOV that matches your headset.

I still like full VR mode in other games especially in games where Direct VR scans allow for true positional 6 dof headtracking.

And I am still blown away how well Cyberpunk looks and runs inside the Vive especially compared to how it looks like on base consoles. Ralf is really doing an awesome job with these VorpX updates.

I ended up using the first cloud profile released for Cyberpunk which works pretty well, but how do I update to the latest profile? I’m still using the original profile.

One thing though is I actually like the 2.0 Z3D (the artifacts are far too subtle to bother me) and will probably keep that, however I did change from full VR to immersive screen which I think is the superior way to go since it gives easy access to the GUI without edgepeek.

“Anyone else feelin’ how fitting having the ‘V’ in the sys tray is for this game? Vorpx is the only way to fly. Only way. This is an unreal experience…”

Yes. Also I am amazed that the game looks and performs better on my GTX 1080 + 6700k PC inside the Vive than it does on base game consoles. And the stereoscopic 3D is absolutely unreal. I love it.

Someone here earlier reported GUI glitches when trying the game in VR using VorpX. Personally I prefer using the immersive screen mode with Cyberpunk. It makes the GUI more readable. I haven’t experienced any VorpX caused GUI glitches though. Everything looks fantastic, and I don’t notice any Z3D artifacts during normal play.

@ Mossfoot With a 3070 you should get better performance than that especially with that CPU. I’m rocking on an OG Vive and a GTX 1080 with a i7-6700 and cyberpunk runs buttery smooth with VorpX at around 60fps though my detail setting is custom but on the lowish end with a couple of bells and whistles turned on. But a 3070 should be able to run this on medium. Maybe try running it on the lowest details and the work your way up in enabling details one by one like I did.

I’m in the open world right now and god damn the 3D effect is amazing and really sucks you into this game world. G3D enthusiasts shouldn’t be put off and give it a chance, it looks fantastic.

I would rather play it like this on my Vive than on my 4k 70 inch tv.

Edit: Also I think I solved my problems by switching from fullscreen to borderless window

G3D might not work at the moment, but Z3D is looking fantastic (and I normally prefer G3D if available and my system can handle it) and performance is great.

How is everyone playing Cyberpunk? Right now I’m playing it sitting, but eventually I’d like to play it standing with a wireless controller or Vive wands like I did Fallout New Vegas.

“Also, just in case, a little reminder that routinely belongs into every answer to ‘my games crashes’ posts in this universe: overclocking is evil.”

Yeah I don’t overclock personally due to stability concerns

“No double posts please. Thanks. I have removed your other post. I don’t have an answer for every question within an hour, sorry for that. I also experienced two seemingly random crashes yesterday during approx. three hours of play time. Not good, of course, but nothing game breaking. I’ll keep an eye on the matter. For the time being please simply continue from the last auto save, which luckily are created quite often.”

Sorry about that. I’ve been messing around with settings in Cyberpunk to try to get it more stable. If I run it in low with auto resolution scaling disabled it seems to run more stable, though I can still occasionally crash but it is less common at least. If it looks stable, I might flip on another detail to see if stability continues.

Performance is great though and the 3D depth is fantastic which really enhances the atmospheric graphics. Z3D is an unsung hero that people are way too dismissive of.

Have you tried the alternative hooking method? I don’t use BM so haven’t tested it. The multiplayer servers are down for everyone now. Now that RL is part of Epic it really sucks.
