MinabeParticipant
I would recommend to mod the originals, way better graphics and actual care for in-game models, not to mention vorpX compatibility as well as pc performance. The trilogy is quite a shitshow
MinabeParticipantFrom what i remember i only did normal stuff. Try the cloud profiles from old vorpX versions and at least one should work (from latest to oldest), there are quite a few from versions 16.x.x all the way to current one (21.2.1), just make sure you are using DX9, which you can choose in the graphics settings (if i remember correctly) in some WoW versions.
You’ll also need a macro for the mouse/camera and FOV if you wanna play it in FullVR mode, i have already posted’em in one of the WoW threads in here.
MinabeParticipantAccording to Vsauce, 7 Megapixels for the center of focus plus 1 megapixel for the rest, while it is a simplification the data provided is solid, with resolutions of ~300 ppi (pixels per inch) making each pixel unresolved for normal vision.
MinabeParticipantI don’t get why it works like that by default, should be backwards imo
MinabeParticipantI remember an official support thread saying only mods that affect gameplay are tracked in an answer about enbs. AFAIK it doesn’t detect hooks (which is why it’s full of cheaters) but i could be wrong, i can tell you i did play about half a year (or longer) ago bc of that answer and i haven’t been banned since.
The problem is that vorpX now uses scripthookv for mods (when i used it vorpX didn’t have mods) so you will probably be banned bc of that as you’re not supposed to use scripthookv online.
MinabeParticipant@anDime It is 360° but it’s still flat with no 3D which is op’s point if i understood correctly. About the 3D SBS without 180/360, how do you plan such a thing with a video? The only way it could work would be with a fixed camera POV but then you wouldn’t be able to move your head around.
It’s just not possible to use a video for 360° with 3D, at least not in the way vorpX looks with games. You can record your gameplay and it will look just like with vorpX but like i said, it’s just gonna be a fixed camera.
MinabeParticipantWouldn’t matter whether it’s unplayable as long as you can record the video, however i don’t see how it would work as a video given that no 360° video is sbs and while you could do it, it would reduce a lot the resolution which is why 180° is used over 360°.
Imo you’re not looking for a 360° video but something else, i read a while ago that some ppl were working on a “video” system for vr where you could move while watching, kind of like a vr game, but again that’s just not video anymore and i haven’t been checking the project so i wouldn’t know if something has already been done…
TL;DR: Makes no sense to make 360° videos over 180°, which is why the standard are 180° in the vr movie industry.
MinabeParticipantAFAIK it’s already implemmented for the cinema mode, i was gonna ask for a vertical screen rotation, both might be good for Full VR on weird cases and if possible please add them Ralf
MinabeParticipantSeems like a good Rust clone, even the name is similar as well as some of the in game items icons. Only bad thing is it has no online but other than that it’s great for a free game.
MinabeParticipantThat’s the thing, it’s like all reflection effects were disabled with G3D which made playing the game like that quite dull, with Z3D it was like actually being in there (i just can’t used to the halo effect it brings). Gonna replay it to see if something’s changed as i haven’t tested it after the OpenXR update, if the same thing happen’s i’ll record a video of it.
MinabeParticipantIt’s been a while so i don’t remember exactly but at the start area it’s supposed to be raining and i noticed only untill i got to the top of the lighthouse bc i had no idea what to do, it was only when i changed to Z3D that i could see the rain and the reflections in the lighthouse that i noticed the bells, I remember it clearly bc it was night and day, gave the game a whole other depth.
MinabeParticipantAFR is great for more options, i personally can’t stand it but as it can help other ppl with less powerful pcs (or new, more demanding games) it’s a great feature.
MinabeParticipantNot such a good idea to use vorpX for online games, most use some form of anti-cheat which will probably flag vorpX as a cheat and get you banned…
MinabeParticipantThe question now is why would you even use an alternative to Windows’ included solution..
MinabeParticipantA rule of thumb for VR, if something works better for you, use it. For starters not every healthy person can actually use an HMD, we technically are the lucky ones…
