As others said, the first Dihosnored might be the best showcase for vorpX, it’s sad to see the second one can’t be played in G3D. I just tried it in Z3D and the result is quite underwhelming compared to the first one that runs in G3D.
Ralf a few years back you said you might do something, can we expect to be able to play able Dishonored 2 in G3D one day ?Mar 1, 2021 at 8:42pm in reply to: PrimeHack (METROID PRIME Trilogy with mouse & KB), full VR mode compatible ? #200836neodraigParticipantIt kinda worked, used DX11 and activated SBS stereo 3D in the settings of Dolphin, but the result is notat all what I was I expecting.
I can “play” (it’s really slow and buggy” but it is in theater mode, no head tracking (it is a mess when I use the full VR mode).
Guess I’m stuck to play with the discontinued Dolphin VR :-/Feb 28, 2021 at 9:28am in reply to: PrimeHack (METROID PRIME Trilogy with mouse & KB), full VR mode compatible ? #200801neodraigParticipantOh I missed those steps, I’ll try again.
Thankx ;)neodraigParticipantThanks Ralf for the clarification.
neodraigParticipantNo that’s not it. The game is hooked and don’t use cinema mode.
Usually when I play games with vorpX (HL2, Portal, Bioshock…) I need to hit the DirectVR button so that vorpX adjust rotation, fov, tracking.
With Titanfall 2, the DirectVR button is not available (I can’t find it anywhere).neodraigParticipantSorry I’m late to the party but using a nVidia card might be better with vorpX.
If your card is powerful enough and you want to use higher resolutions with vorpX, with a AMD card you will be limited to the native resolution of your monitor and won’t be able to go higher. If you’re using a 4K monitor it’s not a problem, but if it is a 1080p display then it will be.
You can partially address this problem by using VSR, but if you’re aiming for for the highest resolution, then games like Half-Life 2 or Portal will keep flickering as vorpX prefers square resolutions.
With nVidia cards you don’t have that problem as you can create any virtual resolutions you want (not limited by the resolution of your monitor).I used to have an AMD card (I’m rather an
ATIAMD guy), but now that I have a nVidia card, it’s easier tu use vorpX.On the other hand I now have Samsung Qled TV set that has VRR but nVidia cards don’t support VRR over HDMI, AMD cards do.
neodraigParticipantThanks for sharing your tests, it might be useful when I’ll play RE7.
I was hoping that Capcom would finally release the game officially on Oculus, but I don’t think it will ever happen now.
If only Ralf could find a way to get the direct VR scan working…
neodraigParticipantI was wondering the same thing, what SW Battlefront are supported ?
Is it SW Battlefront II 2007 or 2017 ?
neodraigParticipantSorry for the late answer, it takes ages to donwload and install games with my ultra crappy internet connection.
I was trying to play Bioshock 2 but it wouldn’t hook.
As you said that the non remastered version of Bioshock was working better (I figured it would be the same with Bioshock 2), I installed the regular version but though vorpX would work, the game kept crashing (then I found the post were you said you struggled for 2 weeks to make it work without success).
So I downloaded and installed back the remasterd version and now it works just fine :oAlso I manage to make work the second game that wouldn’t attach using the altarnate method.
As usual, thanks again for your help Ralf.
neodraigParticipantJust an update and a WARNING to all of you guys and gals:
BE EXTRA CAREFUL WITH YOUR HMD AND DON’T LEAVE IT EXPOSED TO THE SUN EVEN FOR A MINUTE.
Apparently that’s what happened to mine (light damage).
I must have left my headset a couple of minutes on the couch while changing some settings on my PC, and the lens must have been exposed to the sun which permanently burnt the screen.neodraigParticipant@dellrifter22
I didn’t know there was a Valve HDM planned, will they stop their partnership with HTC and compete against them then?
Anyway a new portal, especialy in VR would be awesome. I just hope they won’t ditch some features like the paint puzzles that requires jumping and sliding because some people can’t stand them in VR.
@LiFeSII
I used my Xbox One controller to play the game.
As a matter of fact, my only complaint playing Portal 2 with vorpX is that the native controller support of the game didn’t work I could so there was no vibrations. But it’s just a small complaint compared to how AWESOME the game is with vorpX :)
neodraigParticipantYou are right, as I always play in Geometry 3D when I have the chance.
But I played Bioshock Remastered in Z3D on my AMD card and though I had cranked up the sharpnees, there were no such artifacts.
So I made some more tests and I found that is is depended on the 3D engine.
Some games will have the problem and some other not.I also tried to compare with Bioshock Remastered, but vorpX won’t attach anymore with my new Nvidia graphics card (I already finished the game with the AMD one without problem, I also formated my PC since then).
neodraigParticipantThis is an old post but it’s still revelant as I have the same problem.
The problem appeared since I changed my AMD card for a Nvidia one, didn’t have that problem before.
The problem seems to be link to the sharpness setting as it gets worse when you increase it.
Jan 30, 2019 at 9:47am in reply to: Borderlands – looking at a weapon deactivates geometry 3D (vorpX 19.1.0) #179087neodraigParticipantSorry to post another message, that was just to say that I played yesterday evening and problem with the weapons wasn’t there.
I might have removed my headset and when I put it back that had offsetted the weapons.
Jan 29, 2019 at 8:09pm in reply to: Borderlands – looking at a weapon deactivates geometry 3D (vorpX 19.1.0) #179069neodraigParticipantA side effect of changing the resolution after the direct VR scan, that I didn’t notice during my tests, is that the icons of the items are completly offset in the menus.
Also if you try to aim with a weapon that doesn’t have a zoom, it gets right in the middle of the screen and you can’t see anything. This can be fixed by changing the camera height (+1.0) in the vorpX settings. -
