I closed Riva Tuner Statistics and VorpX worked fine, thanks for the solution Ralf.
rift_unParticipant@Ralf thankyou, I closed Riva Tuner Statistics and VorpX worked fine.
rift_unParticipant^ have disabled fpsVR and afterburner.
it seems strange to me as it used to work, and i still get the “attach” message when starting a game. have tried another game in addition to CP, same result.rift_unParticipant^ reinstall of game and vorpx didn’t work. have tried ticking run as admin and alternative hook in vorpx config, have read the troubleshooting.
rift_unParticipantI’m having a problem with Cyberpunk and the mod/VorpX. I have 2 hmd’s, 8KX and Quest 2. If i try to run the game and the mod in my 8KX i get as far as steamvr starting and the game starting in 2D, but nothing else appears in my 8KX. It’s the same with VorpX client, but it states VorpX is attaching but nothing else happens.
Similar happens with my Quest 2. With the mod and VorpX I get a splash screen saying the game is starting in my hmd but the actual game only starts in 2D.
I am careful to choose the right runtime in VorpX config/mod settings. I make sure I alter with regedit my VR runtime config for Oculus or SteamVR. All other games work ok.
I’m currently re-installing the game and will try again. Any ideas appreciated.
rift_unParticipant@matteo39 in the game directory there’s an exe file called unins001.exe, i think if u run that it will uninstall the vr mod.
rift_unParticipantAbout my Aero/Vorpx frame rate drops, I just solved it in Bioshock by toggling Windows 10 Game Mode to on and in Bioshock settings having post processing effects to off.
In Alien Colonial Marines I turned on the “Fluid” something or other setting from Vorpx in-game menu which gives me a steady 90 fps on the fps counter (it said something about capping fps to 1/3 so dunno if its actually 90) but the game is smooth now.
With beamng just toggling Game Mode on has given steady 90 fps with no low spikes.
rift_unParticipantDo the Vorpx hints show in the games loading screens when you first start the game? You know, the messaages about fov change needing a restart and headtracking is available? If they don’t, then it might not have hooked properly (unless you have disabled hints). If they do show then its hooked, are you pressing the Del key to bring up the Vorpx interface? Check in key bindings it is Del key (I think key bindings are in Vorpx Config app).
Also, do other games work with Vorpx and your Aero?
If they do, what is your fps like? I’ve found I get some dramatic fps low spikes…the games runs at 90 fps, all seems well, but after a short time it suddenly drops as low as 50 or 60 fps. This never happened with my other hmd’s (Quest, G2, 8KX). Wonder if it’s Aero specific?rift_unParticipant@brown66
About seeing in the distance, i still cant make out detail in the far far distance. I’m not sure if its a limitation of the game or aero. A good 4k monitor is still better, but not by a huge margin.Yeh we all need 6090TI’s today! Congrats on your 8kx purchase, i still have mine and i’m keeping it for certain games and to trade in for the 12K when available.
rift_unParticipantThat’s good news!
By “ok” do you mean everything works fine, as expected? Or have you noticed any minor problems when using it with vorpX?
I’m jealous :) … I want to try one of these. I think the unique FOV shape would be ideal for most vorpX fullVR games.
Yeh everything works as expected. No problems. Lol at being jealous :) no doubt in the not too distant future the Aeros display will be equalled or even bettered in new upcoming hmd’s which won’t be $2k so most people will get to experience it.
Thank you for the update! Can you give any examples of games that you’ve played in Vorpx with the Aero that look way better than the Reverb G2? Are you able to use the foveated rendering with Vorpx? Do you notice you get higher frame rates? Any general positive reactions to the Aero that you can share so we can vicariously enjoy this experience with you?
The games i’ve been playing recently with Vorpx are the Fallout series, Alien Colonial Marines, the Metro series, Dying Light 2, the Stalker series of games. I wouldn’t say they look “way” better than a G2, the Aero is 4x the price of a G2 but its not 4x times better. But it is a definite and noticeable improvement in display quality.
My fave games in the Aero are the Fallout games, everything maxxed out like draw distance and Vorpx quality on Phenomenal, it looks great. You can see details, like npc’s, in the distance. You can make out details in things and u don’t need to be close up to do this.
rift_unParticipantReceived my varjo yesterday and can confirm it works ok with vorpx.
It would be also good to know your opinion about how it compares with the Pimax 8KX. The increased clarity justify the lower FOV? It works better with the Vorpx than the Pimax?
By the way, have you tried it with Skyrim LE + Vorpx?
Even with a decreased fov the Aero’s display overall is more pleasing than the 8kx’s. It’s more clear its like your sight has been corrected. The Aero’s fov seems bigger than it is because the sweetspot is huge. But the 8kx, when u can run games on the Large fov setting with supersampling (which is not often unfortunately due to parallel projections), does remain impressive. For example I think I prefer Assetto Corsa on the 8kx with Large fov and supersampling enabled.
The Aero works ok in all the handful of games i play in vorpx. It probably gets a few fps more as no need for pp.
I’ve not tried Skyrim LE with Vorpx, do u recommend it? I own Skyrim VR so haven’t tried Skyrim games with Vorpx.

rift_unParticipantI bought Metro 2033 Redux on Steam for a few pounds, it works fine, so it looks like GOG version was the problem.
rift_unParticipantYeh for Metro 2033 (non redux version) Vorpx changes the FOV correctly so it works ok. That google spreadsheet I linked above is wrong I think.
rift_unParticipantI’ve restarted it 3 times, no luck. I don’t recall seeing the FOV tweak & restart message when I first started it. I’m using GOG version. I’ve checked vorpx local and cloud profiles for this game and I don’t think they exist – they exist for “Metro 2033” but my game is the enhanced version, “Metro 2033 Redux”.
There’s profiles for “Metro Redux” but I think they are for Metro Last Light Redux (there were 6 base games in the series; Metro 2033, Metro 2033 Redux, Metro Last Light, Metro Last Light Redux, Metro Exodus, Metro Exodus Enhanced).
EDIT: When i go into vorpx restore game settings, Metro 2033 Redux is not there. I’m downloading Metro 2033 (non redux version) to see if it works, i think it will.
