ParticipantStrange I’m not able to edit my previous post despite being logged in. Full disclosure regarding Diablo II: Resurrected- its having some launch issues right now.

ParticipantHey Ralf :D Today is a very important day to me and a lot of other people, today is the day they finally release the remaster of Diablo II after 21 years. And here I am thinking to myself, “I’ve had so much fun playing other non FPP games using the immersive screen mode, I bet ‘Diablo II: Resurrected’ would look sweet in 3D!” So here I am, hoping maybe you could make us a kickass profile to play this game with. I’m afraid I don’t have much insight into what engine they might be using other then VicariousVisions has used Unreal engines for their previous remasters ie the recent Tony Hawk remaster. I also heard from another source that they used their own custom engine for the remaster. Anyways, thanks in advance! I know for sure this game would be EPIC in 3D!!

ParticipantThis was also helpful. I guess you just don’t realize all the things these softwares are trying to do that may be conflicting
I think you can turn of ASW in the Oculusdebugtool.exe and the frames will remain same and not tank to half the amount.
You don’t have to fix anything in the VorpX menu. It’s already on Device(off).
The steam overlay isn’t giving me any issues and still get a 70-80fps on my Rift S (80 is the max on this headset).
The game is running super smooth. Make sure you guys disable the ASW option in Oculus.
I’m also loving the Profile that ParadiseDecay has made. Check out his Youtube video with Res8 and you’ll greatly appreciate it with anything less than a RTX 2070 Super. (you’ll still see a slight background top and bottom but the resolution and clarity makes it the best settings) I tried playing around but this is the most clear I can get from my spec and Rift S.

ParticipantI was halfway enjoying my VR playthrough due to some serious hours in troubleshooting to try and get decent performance. Anyways decided to check back and saw this. Now my game runs much better. Like a charm. I had a feeling SteamVR was causing some issues just wasn’t sure how to get it to where it doesn’t want to launch with the game. Anyways I’m getting 60+ frames on average now on my 2080ti (pretty high settings). So grateful for that extra performance boost and even more grateful to have a hard-working dev to deliver us this experience. Thanks again to Ralph and everyone else helping to get everyone where they want to be, playing this game how it ought to be played. Cheers!
Try to get both Virtual Desktop and SteamVR out of the way. Two extra layers between vorpX and the headset always bear the risk of creating weird issues.
vorpX’s native Oculus runtime mode doesn’t work with DX12 for Steam games due to an incompatibility with the DX12 Steam overlay, but OpenXR, which has been added to vorpX recently, does.
- Close both Virtual Desktop and SteamVR.
- Make Oculus your system’s OpenXR runtime by double clicking the .reg file in the linked zip archive: OculusOpenXR.zip. Oculus doesn’t enable OpenXR per default yet, but ist’s already working quite well from my experience. Caveat: The .reg file assumes that the Oculus software is installed in its default folder.
- Select OpenXR as your headset type in the vorpX config app on the ‘General’ page.
- Use Link/Air Link. DO NOT start SteamVR, it’s not required with OpenXR.

ParticipantRalf is the man. Thanks for double timing this for all of us horror loving nerds XD

ParticipantThoughts on any potential workarounds for what might be causing the program to drag like this after hooking?

ParticipantGotta love how difficult these game devs make it for us to try and make their games even better. Pretty sad that it seems like they’ve not only trashed the thought of making any future RE games in VR but also made it so we can’t enjoy it our way

ParticipantRalph is the man. Hopefully we get to the bottom of this soon. This would be such a great game for VorpX. Keep plugging away guys! I’m sure we’ll be VRing in village before long

ParticipantI was really hoping my problem was more user error DX kind of disappointing really after people documenting demo working so well

ParticipantI’ll follow up in a bit. Going to try tinkering with anything running in the background that might be interfering with VorpX although I keep it pretty light

ParticipantYes I just saw the posts about the cyberpunk profile. I’ve got it to hook a few times by messing with the hook method. When I do get it to launch its got really low FPS even on lowest settings. I’m sure it’s something silly I’m overlooking. I’m still relatively new to using VorpX so my apologies if I seem like a bit of a potato. Any help is greatly appreciated as I was really looking forward to trying this one with VorpX

ParticipantTried quite a few different ways to get it to hook with full game. Any insight would be appreciated. This would be incredible I’m sure if I could get it working. I couldn’t have imagined it would be this difficult. Ralph if you hear my wishes I beg of you to give this a looksies :D I get pulling the d3 d12 error telling me to switch my device to a steam device, even though I’m on occulus. Then on the off chance I can get it to hook into the game I’m getting awful performance on all different settings :(
