Another long time, early Vorpx adopter here.

Can we get some details around this?

I’ll gives this a go tonight on my nvidia rig.

So far I’ve never had Vorpx hook, whether I launch it AFTER the launcher, or before.

Can’t wait to give the above a go.

I had it working from time to time.

But the FOV was always off. FOV settings seem to change in Multiplayer, but not singple player.

Can anybody confirm how this is changed for singleplayer?

    Fantastic.

I was kind of hoping Ralf would come to the rescue. It would score some great points in the community with Vorpx.

Let’s hope AI’s dev’s don’t patch this VR support out of the game.

Fantastic. I’m kind of sick of c*ck teasing developers showing off new titles supporting VR….yet have no plans to release to public.

    You show em, Ralf! :)

If trackir works, then the new opentrack should be an option as well.

    Has anybody tried it?

Have you ever played with Vireio before?

Are you sure you don’t have a d3d9.dll file somewhere in your Dirt 3 folder?
Please post the version of your d3d9.dll file in your Windows\System32 folder.

    I’ll post mine too.

I’d reinstall DX9. I think one version comes with Dirt3, in the REDIST folder.

Funny that VorpX is not forcing DX9 mode.

    Let’s do this manually then…

Ok, so now the xml file was recreated.

    Step 1
    C:\Users\Yourname\Documents\My Games\Dirt3\Hardware Settings\Hardware Settings Config.

    Step 2
Press ctrl + f and then type direct. You will find the direct x forced feedback =” false”.() So Change it into directx forcedx9=”true” . Thats it …save it and start your game in direct x 9.

Run Vorpx again, hit apply so you get the driver “active” in the system tray.
Run Dirt 3, start a single race or time trial and check your 3d modes available.

I tried BF4 before I knew to check these settings.

I’ll give it a try this weekend and get back to you.

I know I’ve had some luck in BF3.

    I’ll test both. :)

    I’m using Dirt 3 in DX11 with Geometry…If I’m not mistaken DX11 is a requirement….Please somebody confirm :)

If you use another setting other than Geometry (Z-Normal for example), the image looks flat but performance seems better.

I’ve only tried to get D3 in DX9 for Vireio, but failed (constant crash to desktop just as the intro splash video starts to play).

Let me know how you go with the XML wipe. That and the full re-download helped me.

I can no constantly show off Dirt 3, confident it will work every time.

I prefer it over Dirt 2, the menus make me queasy and I dont remember the game being as good as Dirt 3. :)

Can you give details on the .ini file you edited?

I find that I’m stuck on older resolutions for my graphics.

I’ve had some luck with MW2.

    None with MW3 or COD4/MW1

Just to put it out there. I’ve played other FPS titles with VORPX and MW2 is the biggest “gunface” experience out there.

    FOV is terrible.

WHen I say “SOME” luck. I mean for some reason it will hook. Then I reboot my pc, go through the procedure again and then it wont hook. It seems to work if I run MW2 after I’ve played other games. Haven’t figured out WHAT games exactly.

Be sure to not only have vorpx running, but the system tray should show that the driver is running. I used to launch Vorpx and never hit “Apply” before running the game.

I bit the bullet and downloaded the Steam download of Dirt 3 and reinstalled the game.

I also deleted my hardware config xml files in My Documents\My Games\Dirt 3 (from memory).

Make sure everything works in 2d.

Then grab and launch Opentrack – set it to use Freetrack and hit start.
    Launch Vorpx and hit apply
    launch game.

In game, bring up the menu and switch the 3d mode to Geometry. I was impressed with other modes, but once I hit geometry the 3d popped out at me and was really impressive.

Ralf, I followed your steps and Bioshock looks amazing. While shadows still cause issues the characters look great.

Elizabeth looks like a talking porcelain doll. Eerie when she’s life size and standing in front of you.

I find that opentrack can often crash Vorpx when trying edge peak.
This happens often in Dirt 3.

I try to zoom out instead but the menus are located deep on the edges and corners of the display :(

Arma 3 is still something I really want to get working.

I’ve tried COD, Borderlands. All end up being “Gunface” experiences.
