RalfKeymastervorpX should do that automatically normally, maybe it failed for some reason.
Just in case: If you happen to have disabled automatic game settings, please re-enable that in the config app.
RalfKeymasterI understand that you already did go through the guide, but your issue almost certainly is caused by a conflict with another program. Judging from the description (not even the attach dialog showing) an interfering antivirus program sounds like the most likely option. If you use anything else than Windows Defender, please try to remove it for testing purposes. Windows Defender will kick in instead automatically, so there is no risk involved in removing third party AV.
RalfKeymaster@ markus: You shouldn’t have to do any of the above. Far Cry 3 should hook right away without any problems, FC4 has the good old occasional black screen issue when switching to the first menu screen, which can be circumvented by running the game windowed and if necessary trying a few times. Unfortunately I was never able to reliably reproduce that here.
If you use any other AV program than Windows Defender, please first and foremost try to remove it entirely for testing purposes. Adding an exception to the actual scanner portion may not be enough. Some more invasive AV programs can’t really be fully disabled unless you remove them. Since your issue started to occur recently seemingly out of the blue, it’s quite likely that it is caused by an AV program. There is no risk involved in removing invasive third party AV on Windows 10, which has a built in AV solution that is more than good enough for several years now.
RalfKeymasterWMR is supported via SteamVR, there is no way to use a WMR headset without SteamVR. *Maybe* direct WMR support will be added at some point, but there is no timeline for that currently.
You can change the video content type on the ‘Image’ page of the vorpX, SBS stereo as well as most common surround video formats are available.
RalfKeymasterIn general: never use an exact 1:1 resolution, that will confuse the depth buffer heuristics, use something slightly below (e.g. 9:10) or above (e.g. 10:9), but never exactly 1:1. There is a warning hint supposed to be shown when vorpX detects a 1:1 res, I’ll check whether maybe that isn’t displayed anymore.
In case of Cyberpunk however you will want something wider anyway due to the reduced zoom. If you select a resolution quality on the DirectVR page of the vorpX menu instead of setting the res manually, vorpX will pick 4:3 or 16:10 (depending on your headset) resolutions from the list of available ones, which is the right choice here.
RalfKeymasterI think I understand what you mean, but I don’t think trying to account for that in software is the right way to deal with it. If the headset sits firmly on your face that shouldn’t happen in the first place. Maybe try to tighten the headset straps a bit (without overdoing it), that way the headset won’t move anymore when you rotate your head.
RalfKeymasterWhile playing the game with vorpX the Mod Organizer .ini redirection doesn’t cause any problem since inside the game vorpX’s .ini changes are also redirected, so everything that needs to be changed is changed in the right (redirected) files.
Reverting changes in the vorpX config app however doesn’t work right with Mod Organizer .ini files since the config app isn’t aware of the redirected paths and thus tries to restore the actual .ini files. Not exactly great design to redirect paths in memory without even considering that there may be other tools that also edit the same files.
RalfKeymasterGoing back to an older save file should take care of that. Bethesda games for some reason store the FOV in save files.
Alternatively you can set the FOV from the game console via ‘fov XX’ (DX9 Skyrim) or ‘fov XX XX’ (DX11 Skyrim). XX being the FOV you want to set.
RalfKeymasterWorks fine for me here using the Uplay (Ubisoft Connect) version and vorpX in SteamVR mode. There also haven’t really been any changes to DX11 hooking, so chances that an issue in that regard have been introduced with the last update are fairly slim.
Just in case: if you (unnecessarily) happen to use any other antivirus program than Windows Defender, consider getting rid of it. Windows Defender is more than good enough for several years now.
RalfKeymasterYou can revert any changes vorpX made to game settings in the config app under ‘Restore Game Settings’. Not sure though whether that works right with Mod Organizer. That tool does some seriously weird things, e.g. .ini file path redirection.
RalfKeymasterPlease reset the profile to default in the config app. If you see distortion, you may have made changes in the vorpX menu that made the FOV calculation or depth buffer extraction fail.
RalfKeymasterGreat. Have fun! Probably you just missed the second restart originally. May sound a bit unelegant, but since in many games the right FOV value depends on the aspect ratio (resolution), the FOV sometimes can only be set right after vorpX adjusted the resolution.

RalfKeymasterProbably the game you are experiencing this with doesn’t allow mouse and gamepad input at the same time. In such games vorpX turns on its built in gamepad to mouse/kb tool whenever it has to emulate a mouse for head tracking. The alternative to doing that would be no gamepad at all together with mouse based head tracking in games that can’t handle gamepad and mouse simultaneously.
RalfKeymasterAssuming by ‘no longer works’ you mean that vorpX doesn’t hook into the game anymore:
First please try installing a hook helper and switching to alternative hooking. The ‘Attaching to…’ dialog should offer these options after about a minute or so of waiting. Both options can help without getting to the bottom of the matter.
If neither using a hook helper nor the alternative hooking method helps, check for conflicting background programs on your PC that also hook into games. That’s almost always the reason for hooking problems. The trouble shooting guide on top of this sub forum has more detail.
RalfKeymasterI’m afraid I don’t understand the issue you have. Can you provide more information? E.g. which game you have this issue with and what you mean by ‘lock headtracking’.
