    everything at maximum

Probably a good idea to dial back a few things considering that the mod already pushes the limits of the engine. vorpX on top of that (requires a considerable amount of both CPU/GPU RAM on its own and doubles the D3D draw count for stereo rendering) might be too much in the long run.

I would recommend to start with medium graphics settings.

With gamepad override vorpX emulates mouse and keyboard through your gamepad instead of letting the game use its native gamepad handling. That is crucial for games that don’t allow mouse/kb and gamepad to be used at the same time since vorpX might require mouse input for head tracking.

If this setting is set to anything else than “Off” per default for a game, there usually is a reason for that and you better should not touch it.

“Partial” gives you control over which parts of the gamepad are handled natively and which are not.

Checked this briefly by playing through the first minutes until the character creation starts. Works fine here until that point.

Only thing I did was disabling the optimization tools in the mod launcher. All other settings were left at default. ‘OSAllocators’ might or might not work (didn’t test it), the other two will likely cause issues with vorpX.

Still possible that there are memory related issues later in the game when the full world gets loaded as the mod team is known for pushing the limits of the engine. vorpX on top of that might just be too much. If someone wants to provide a savegame later in the game for testing, please send it to support |at| vorpx com.

One observation: the mod doesn’t seem to like the auto resolution set by vorpX. The main menu was invisible for me with the automatic 8:9 resolution, so you might want to disable auto resolution in the DirectVR menu and set a 4:3 res manually instead.

Still works fine here with the latest HL2 update from a few days ago in both Oculus and SteamVR mode. Surprisingly even the pre-cached DirectVR values still work after the update.

There is no need to download a cloud profile for any of the games you mentioned in your post. vorpX comes with fully working DirectVR profiles for all of them. To make sure the right profiles are used please either revert them to default or do a factory reset on the trouble shooting page of the config app.

If you suspect any changes you made to your PC affect the performance/functionality of vorpX, the best action is reverting those changes to see whether that makes a difference. If you happen to have the Windows system restore functionality enabled (unfortunately it’s disabled per default on Windows 10), simply go back to a restore point from before the issue started to occur.

Please also check whether the games you refer to actually have DirectVR FOV support. If so, you can adjust it on the DirectVR page of the vorpX menu should you feel it doesn’t meet your expectations.

Direct VR FOV however is precisely matched to the FOV of your headset, so the likelihood of an FOV set by DirectVR being wrong is rather slim.

If a game does not have DirectVR FOV support, you can either adjust it manually like in the old days or play in immersive screen mode. The options you have in regard to adjusting FOV manually for games without DirectVR FOV are listed in the “Essential Hints Guide” in the vorpX help.

I might take a look at it, but don’t expect anything. Officially supporting mods is not possible unfortunately due to time constraints.

As far as I am aware this mod comes with a custom d3d9.dll that hooks the exact same D3D functions that vorpX hooks. Two competing hooks usually don’t work at all or are at best the reason for all sorts of unpredictable behavior.

Please make sure that the name and key field look EXACTLY AS SHOWN IN THE E-MAIL.

The name field has to contain your name followed by the mail address in parantheses like in the e-mail.

Use COPY AND PASTE to avoid typos.

The EXAMPLE IMAGE attached to the mail shows how it should look.

If that does not solve your issue, please send a screenshot of the dialog after you pasted in the data to support |at| vorpx com.

Maybe it’s some additional software on your PC that causes your machine to behave different than others. Check for the usual suspects in that regard. AV programs, GPU/CPU utilities, chat programs, game streaming/recording apps, messengers etc.

Starting a new game might also be worth a shot if you did not try that before.

I can’t really suggest anything specific since this obviously is not a general issue but something related to your setup. if you can’t solve your SKSE problem, all I can suggest is playing without mods that require SKSE.

BTW: You can never rely on vorpX working with things like SKSE (although it should normally).

The only thing I can recommend in addition to everything above is trying with a completely fresh install. Skyrim is still is being played quite regularly and was the most used vorpX game for a long time before the VR version was released. Since others have no problems with SKSE, it’s safe to assume that something about your specific setup causes your issue. A completely fresh install (also without any tools like ModOrganizer) might help you to identify the issue.

In general you should be aware that everything that also hooks into games in addition to vorpX is a potential source of problems. So always try games completely unmodded if you encounter issues with mods.

The gamepad stick sensitivity should be adjustable in the game options, so having this option in vorpX would be redundant for gamepad mode.

You might want to check whether this also happens with an actual gamepad. Might be that it’s not a sensitivity issue. Maybe the game dislikes gamepad and mouse (for head tracking) being used together. In that case I would recommend to play with mouse and keyboard.

The key prompts aren’t avoidable since a mouse is still emulated for head tracking and the game decides what prompts to show on its own. A handful of games allow to choose which prmpts are shown, but I don’t think Prey is among them.

Odd, maybe the mapping is messed up for some reason. Try to reset the profile to default in the config app (trouble shooting page).

You could also try switch the Vive controllers from mous/kb to gamepad mode (or vice versa) in the vorpX menu.

If you experience this with just SKSE and no mods installed, please also try without SKSE.

Sounds like it could be a memory issue. 32bit programs can only address so much RAM on both your CPU and GPU. With RAM consuming mods (e.g. HD texture packs) or even just certain .ini tweaks (e.g. uGridsToLoad) you may push the game over the edge with vorpX in the mix since it requires a considerable amount of CPU and GPU RAM on its own.

First try to remove obvious candidates like huge texture/model packs. Many texture packs have a less resource heavy version, so with some luck you don’t even have to remove one you are particularly fond of completely but can instead switch to a lower res version. If that does not help, the best way is to start from scratch in regard to mods and then just add the ones that you consider absolutely indispensable.

Also try to delete/rename your SkyrimPrefs.ini in case you made changes to it before. The game will create a new one when you start it next time.

If you experience this with just SKSE and no mods installed, please also try without SKSE.

For watching movies you could try MPC-HC or VLC. vorpX has a profile for both and hooks directly into them like it hooks into games. With some luck your laptop switches to the dedicated GPU with these since they use 3D APIs for rendering. That’s not guarenteed, but worth a shot.

If that doesn’t work, check Steam for dedicated VR video players. Never tried one myself, but there is a variety to choose from, some free, some cost a few bucks.
