Thanks for clarifying. vorpX doesn’t do anything unless you play a game with it and if you do, it doesn’t draw a logo over the image in your headset.

I would suggest to open a support ticket with Oculus, maybe it’s a display defect if you always see this glitch regardless of content. Neither does your picture show a vorpX logo nor is this a vorpX issue at all.

It’s a bit hard to see, but that certainly is not a vorpX logo. Provided it’s not a display defect, it’s probably a lens reflection.

Most importantly check with other games, might be some bright screen element in this particular game. Also change the cinema background to “None” in the vorpX menu or switch the “Play Style” to “Immersive Screen Mode”. Maybe it’s one of lights in the vorpX cinema environment that reflects in the lens. If that does not help try in a completely dark room to make 100% sure it’s not some lightsource from outside the headset. Assuming it’s a reflection, there has to be a source somewhere.

To make this clear again: vorpX does not draw anything over the image in the headset.

@ haints: just a heads-up that the FOV calculated by vorpX is 100% perfect for your headset. In “Full VR” mode FOV is not a matter of taste, there is only one correct FOV. That’s also the reason why you don’t see FOV sliders in native VR games.

Even if you prefer a different one it’s important to understand that only the FOV calculated by vorpX is technically correct. Everything else causes “fish bowl” image distortion.

Short addition to Eincrou’s post: the game has to run windowed for the mirror window option to work. Most games allow you to run them windowed in their graphics/video options.

If you are using an nVidia card, please also try to set the ‘Shadercache’ option to ‘Off’ in the nVidia control panel under ‘Manage 3D Settings’. Everything else there should be set to default values. Just in case there is some odd problem with your nVidia 3D settings.

In addition to a vorpX factory reset and a PC restart please also check whether you maybe have some other software running that also hooks into games. Might be some GPU/CPU tuning utility, video recording/streaming software or a messenger, generally anything that can show notifications in games.

vorpX itself does not display a logo in the headset under any circumstances normally.

The only remotely imaginable option is some weird issue that messes up texture memory e.g. due to another program also hooking into a game’s rendering pipeline.

The name field in your screenshot is not correct. Please make sure that it looks exactly like in the key e-mail. It has to contain your name followed by the e-mail address in parantheses, just like in the e-mail.

Use COPY AND PASTE to avoid typos.

The example image that is attached to the key e-mail shows how it is supposed to look.

You can change the thumbstick configuration in the vorpX menu (input page).

If you can’t find the according options, try with expert settings enabled. I’m not entirely sure currently whether that is necessary for the thumbstick options to become available.

I would have to implement some kind of remote control interface for that. Adding a simple command line switch would not help, switches are only evaluated on start. I’ll check what can be done on occasion, but since the Starforce protection doesn’t even work on Windows 10 anymore, that’s not high priority.

IIRC from the good old days of CD gaming, Starforce splits the game executble into two files, the .exe and a .dat file, the latter is the actual executable. I have no clue how both work together, but it’s worth a shot to try using the .dat file in your profiles instead of the .exe. Or maybe that was some other copy protection, can’t really remember.

Caveat: Even if that works, it would break your profiles for everyone who uses Steam/GOG/Whatever versions of the game in question

You could also look into things like AutoHotkey to automate the required mouse clicks.

Hold your horses, guys. As said above definitely not before the end of the week and of course it’s always possible that some bug is found during testing that causes further delays.

If you don’t want vorpX to hook into a game launcher but the game it launches, you can simply add the launcher to the exclude list in the vorpX config app. Handling such cases with a time delay would be extremely error prone since vorpX has to hook an .exe as fast as possible after it launches.

You may have only the 64bit version installed, vorpX also requires the 32bit version. Normally the vorpX installer should have taken care of that. If that failed for some reason, you can install the 32bit VC 2015 runtime manually.

Can’t replicate this here, still hooks fine. Please check whether you maybe added the game’s main .exe file (ffxv_s.exe) to the exclude list in the config app or try a factory set.

Sounds like a virus scanner issue. Try to exclude the vorpX program folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX) from your scanner.

If you are on Windows 10, I would suggest to switch to Windows Defender, which makes such issues less likely. Windows Defender provides excellent protection without being as invasive as some other scanners. It kicks in automatically when you uninstall a third party AV program.

The maximum is 1.3. As said above vorpX is designed for VR headsets. Most of its functionality is geared specifically towards VR. There are currently no plans to change this VR focus.

Games on the supported games list are games with a stereo 3D profile, about 90% of those have Geometry 3D these days.

For games that do not support DirectVR please check the ‘Essential Hints’ guide and the ‘1-2-3 Game Setup’ guide in the vorpX help. They help you understand how to best play first person games without (or with partial) DirectVR. By following the steps in the ‘1-2-3 Game Setup’ guide you can get basically every first person game working in ‘Full VR’ mode.

Alternatively you can play in ‘Immersive Screen Mode’ in case you don’t want to spend any time for configuring non-DirectVR games at all. Immersive Screen Mode doesn’t require any setup regardless whether a game has DirectVR or not.
