RalfKeymasterThe first thing you should do whenever a Direvt VR scan does not work as expected is restarting the game. As said before, Unreal engine games have the habit of changing the memory locations for rotation/position/fov, which also may vary from PC to PC. Restarting the game ensures that the memory layout is as close as possible to what the Direct VR profile for the game in question expects.
Apart from that:
If you use anything else than Windows Defender as your antivirus, get rid of it. Some AV programs may prevent Direct VR from working correctly.
The same may be true for recording software that hooks into games. So if you do your recoding via software, check whether maybe starting the game with/without recording software makes a difference.
Same for anything else that can hook into games (CPU/GPU utilities of any kind, messengers etc.).
In general: the most important aspect of Direct VR is the 1:1 head tracking. If the FOV scan fails for you, you can almost always compensate that with one of the other methods that vorpX provides to address FOV. For all three Bioshock games for example it can be done quite easily with the Game Settings Optimizer in the config app.

RalfKeymasterThere probably isn’t much that can be enhanced in regard to the Dishonored scan profile, sorry – it’s pretty much optimized to death.
Like the message during the scan says the scan process is not 100% reliable by nature, there always is a chance of failure and it may even be the case that Direct VR doesn’t work at all for a specific configuration.
Unreal Engine games (like Dishonored) are a prime example of that since the memory locations used for FOV/rotation/position change on various occasions, making the whole thing even more difficult than for other games. I will check whether it is maybe possible to reproduce your issue here, but can’t promise anything. The warning message during each scan is there for a reason. :)
RalfKeymasterConfirmed. I don’t have an immediate solution unfortunately, but it will be looked into.

RalfKeymasterScanning the game memory lile vorpX does for Direct VR is not an entirely reliable process by nature. There are many variables involved that can make a particular scan fail while another one succeeds.
Hence the message in this regard that is displayed during each scan.
For Dishonored you can also adjust the FOV with the vorpX Game Optimizer in the config app, so a failing FOV scan isn’t too much of an issue here.
RalfKeymasterSocial media presence admittedly is a blind spot, so no Twitter account available, sorry. Probably something that should get more attention.
You can post your announcements here at any time, of course.
RalfKeymasterYour key has been set to the mail address that you used for requestiong the key (blbz…@gmail.com). I will resend it to the other one you mentioned above. Let me know if it still does not reach you.
RalfKeymasterPlease send a mail to support |at| vorpx com
RalfKeymasterUse COPY AND PASTE for both the name field and the key field. Do not type anything manually.
There almost certainly is a typo in the name field if the resgistration fails.
If using COPY AND PASTE does not help, please send a screenshot of the license dialog after pasting in the data to support |at| vorpx com.
RalfKeymasterNo d3d11.dll is supposed to be in the game folder, d3d11.dll is a system DLL that belongs to Windows. You should see one in your System32 folder and another one in the SysWOW64 folder. If one of these folders does not contain a d3d11.dll please reinstall DirectX:

Apart from that:
There never is a guarantee that games without a profile work. It’s always worth a try to create a custom profile in the vorpX config app for a game you want to check, but that might or might not work.
RalfKeymasterI’ll consider it as a potential expert option. No promises though! There always are pros and cons to consider when adding new options. The main con in this case is that changing the width indepedently (obviously) changes the image aspect ratio, leading to unnatural proportions.
RalfKeymasterYou can try to make custom profiles in the config app for games wothout profiles. There is no guarantee that custom profiles work, but it’s always worth a shot.
RalfKeymasterFirst and foremost: don’t overclock your CPU/GPU while using vorpX. Running games with vorpX is more demanding for your PC than playing on a monitor in multiple ways. Potential overclocking issues will show a lot earlier due to this.
Apart from that:
A heavily underused GPU in GTA V is certainly not normal, that much is sure.
Maybe there is some VSync issue that caps the framerate. Please try to reset the 3d settings in your graphics driver control panel to the default values an then force VSync off there, just in case.
If you use anything else than Windows Defender, please also try to disable your virus scanner. Virus scanners that constantly scan memory operations may have strange and unpredictable effects, especially with Direct VR games.
BTW: You won’t be able to achieve steady 90fps in both games, even with your 1080ti, so it makes a lot of sense to leave Fluid Sync on in the vorpX menu with these games.
RalfKeymasterI can’t comment on what exactly happens in this case since I never tried the game, sorry. As said above there is no guarantee that custom profiles work.
One thing that is important when making custom profiles is to assign the main .exe of the game to the newly created profile, not any launcher .exe.

RalfKeymasterIf you find the image too blurry, try to raise the resolution that you run the game with. Recommended resolutions are 1280×1024, 1600×1200, 1920×1440. The higher the less blurry the image will be. Higher resolutions cost performance though, of course. You need to find the right balance for your PC and the game you try.
For the fully native 4k resolution of your Pimax the game resolution would need to be even higher than 1920×1440, but that would bring down almost any game to its knees.
RalfKeymasterThe best bet for getting games to work that have no profile is creating a custom profile in the config app. To do that you can make copies of exisiting games on the local profiles page and then assign the main .exe to the newly created profile.
Ideally the base profile should stem from a game using the same graphics engine. In that case you might even get 3d to work.
There is no guarantee though to make an unknown game work this way.
