RalfKeymasterCould you please let me know a little bit more than the beeped out mail address? Thanks.
The PayPal transaction ID and the name and e-mail address of the PayPal account owner would probably suffice. You can send that through the contact form (support menu above) instead of posting it here.
RalfKeymasterYou sent five or six request mails and an addition to that the same amount of messages through the contact form within a few minutes. That is not necessary.
You only need a new key when you reinstall Windows or change hardware in your PC.
I explained the reason for the delay in your specific case in the e-mail you received. Thanks again for your understanding.
RalfKeymasterYou should have received your key by now. Let me know if it did not reach you.
RalfKeymasterI can’t do much without a way to link you (respectively your e-mail address) to an actual purchase, sorry.
If neither of the two e-mail addresses got you an answer from the download form, none of it is in the license database. There also is noone with your name (derived from your G-Mail address) in the license database unfortunately.
If you remember when you bought vorpX, please let me know. I will then check the actual purchase data of our e-Commerce service MyCommerce whether there was a purchase with your name/mail-address in that timeframe to exclude the (slim) chance of an error in the license database.
RalfKeymasterDid you check the support FAQ or the FAQ post here in this forum?
RalfKeymasterIf for some reason the game cursor is not visible in 3D mode and vorpX doesn’t show it’s own automatically instead, you can activate/deactivate the vorpX cursor with [ALT][C] in most cases. If that also does not work, please play with a gamepad or your Vive/Touch controllers in gamepad mode.
Z-Buffer: You should be able to get 3D back by opening/closing for example the inventory.
The game constantly switches the texture used for the depth buffer after opening menus/inventory etc. In my last tests keeping track of that worked practically every time with very few exceptions. I’ll check again. If it indeed still fails more often, the profile will be removed, sorry. There was already far more time poured into this game than I can justify considering its (un)popularity.
RalfKeymasterIf you experience this error, which can happen especially with imported cloud profiles, please have a little bit of patience.
I was able to reproduce it, but unfortunately it’s a bit cumbersome to debug since it doesn’t occur in dev builds – only in release versions. There won’t be time to address it today (Sunday). A hotfix will be made available later this week.
RalfKeymasterYou need to enter the same e-mail address into the download form that you used to register vorpX, otherwise the request will not be processed. As far as I can tell there is no database entry in our license database with the mail address that you used to register here on the forum.
RalfKeymasterDo you actually play any games in between running the Direct VR scanner? :) The Borderlands 2 sacnner profile is optimized to death, sorry. If it doesn’t work for you:
Please always keep the hint in mind that is shown during each scan: there is no 100% guarantee that Direct VR works for a particular game on every system. This hint is shown so prominently during each scan for a reason.
If Direct VR does not work in a game for you, you can always play any game without Direct VR.
RalfKeymasterGreat. Originally there probably was a German version od the game with all swastika textures replaced, which usually suffices to make Nazi-themed games available here, but apparently noone cared to bring that to Steam.
Anyway, since it’s working now I can live without the Steam version.
RalfKeymasterDirect VR fully handles all mouse input in some Source engine games where the mouse interferes. The sensitivity for that is fixed in the scanner profile and TBH I really don’t want to add yet another WhateverSensitivity option for these rare cases to the menu that causes more confusion than anything else.
RalfKeymasterI can’t purchase than one from Steam here (Germany). Legal stuff.
I made some adjustments to the profile. Try to download it from the cloud.
if it still does not work, you can always play the game the “normal” way without Direct VR.
RalfKeymasterWhat version of the game are you using? IIRC I used the one available on GOG for the profile. Old CD versions may be different from that and might fail.
In general please always keep the hint in mind that is shown during each scan: There is no 100% guarantee that Direct VR works for a particular game on every system. This hint is shown so prominently during each scan for a reason.
RalfKeymasterI can’t really give you very concrete advice in regard to your issue, sorry. Judging from your issue description (games crashing your whole PC) there apparently is something very wrong, and it’s something very odd.
Did you overclock anything in your PC? That’s the first thing that comes to mind when reading your problem description. If so, revert that. Playing games with vorpX is more taxing than playing on a monitor. Even if overclocking causes no issues normally, it may still with vorpX.
If you didn’t overclock, please double and triple check for any background programs that may also hook into games: virus scanners, any sort of CPU/GPU utilities, game video recording/streaming software, chat programs and generally everything that can show notifictations in games.
Best way to trouble shoot this is to disable/uninstall every program running in the background that would not be there after a fresh, Microsoft only Windows install.
RalfKeymasterI uploaded an updated profile with different scan parameters to the cloud. Let me know if it works now.
At the same time please also keep the disclaimer in mind that is shown during each scan: there always is a chance that Direct VR does not work for a game on a specific system (in this case the scan shouldn’t be very system dependent though normally).
