Someone uploaded a profile after I posted this and using that one it hooks fine and runs beautiful.

Ah! Thanks, at least I now got the popup. Unfortunately both the hook helper and running as admin didn’t work. Seems to be specific with WRC 23, tried a lot of other games and they all hooked up fine.

Someone on Reddit just posted that when you set the resolution by hand the map is fixed, but if I remember correctly it’s not a good idea to change the resolution manually, performance-wise?

I’ll send you the logfile for that other issue :)

Wow, GTA 5 really runs smooth now, much better than the other alternative rendering method. Amazing work as always.

    2 issues –
The map in the left bottom itself shows correctly, but to the right of the map is another vertical bar showing a portion of a zoomed in map.

When I quit GTA 5 and restart it, I only get a black screen (G2 Reverb, OpenXR). When I open the Vorpx menu I do see that in VR, but GTA itself does not appear. Only fix is to completely restart my pc.

What I liked about the other mod is the option to recenter by shaking your head left and right, could that be integrated in Vorpx?

Ok so at least it should be possible to hook, it won’t hook here. I get a ‘hooking’ message the first time I try but then it simply doesn’t hook. When I exit and retry I don’t even get the vorpx hooking message.
The no 3d is not an issue for me, if I can get it running in Cinema mode I would already be extremely happy.
BTW there is a 60fps patch released for GPL.

Somehow I was so excited with the update that I kept mentioning F1 2001 in my post.. I meant F1 2020 ;)

I just did some testing. I have a G2 Reverb.
Before the update I could run WRC9, F1 2001 and Kingdom Come kind of smooth, but with gfx settings dropped to a minimum. And even then it was not supersmooth, fps drops to 80 occasionally. Which is very noticable in racing games.

So after the update I tried these all. 90fps in all of them. Then I raised the gfx in WRC from low to medium. 90fps. To High. 90fps.

Same in F1 2001. From low to medium the fps remained stable 90fps. Only at ultra high the fps had drops to around 70.

This update is amazing Ralph. THANK YOU.

Yours is green? My fps counter is blue. In for example F1 2020 or WRC 9 it’s almost impossible to see the fps because it’s blue numbers on a blue sky. Is there a way to change the color of the fps counter?

I use VR mostly for my racing and flying sims. When PSVR was released Sony was really pushing this and a LOT of awesome games have been released for PSVR for a year or 2. Especially Astrobot showed how amazing games can be in VR. But I think it just wasn’t maknig enough money for devs – since maybe a year almost nothing good has been released for PSVR anymore.
PCVR same thing – when you look at the pcvr releases the last year.. most of them are small crappy games. So I’m extremely happy with Vorpx, especially now that I have it running perfectly on my G2.
The extremely low amount of good VR games released lately does make me worry a bit about the future of VR in general. I think the VR market is still too small for devs to be interesting enough.

It’s not a Vorpx issue Ralf.. I started Euro truck 2 and there the loading screen is also tilted. Found lots of posts from people having the same issues, apparently it’s a Steamvr issue, but haven’t found a fix yet. But at least you know now it’s not a Vorpx issue.

That is how it normally worked, but now when I keep my head straight – after alt-L the ‘scan succesfull’ message is tilted and then when I open up the map, hud or other menu’s in Bioshock for example, they are also tilted about 10 degrees.
Tried a factory reset, deleted the room data of my G2 in WMR settings but that didn’t help. It does seem to be a Vorpx issue – in all my other vr games nothing is tilted. Weird eh :-/

Edit – just did another test, I put my G2 on my desk (which is completely horizontal) and then did Alt-L – still tilted menu’s. When I use the middle mouse button to zoom out the HUD is perfectly horizontal, when I enter VR again it’s tilted.

I’ll try a complete uninstall and reinstall of Vorpx, see if that helps.

Hi Ralf, yes I continued with the original Bioshock – it runs much better indeed. But also there the menu is tilted 10 degrees after I do alt-L – I’ll do a factory reset to see if that fixed this issue. It’s literally in every game now. It worked perfect until I did an alt-L in Bioshock Remastered and immediately noticed after that the vorpx message and the in-game menus were tilted.

Good to hear you apparently already fixed the second issue :)

Sounds promising Ralf! And I just read this on Reddit:

Yesterday in r/WindowsMR a WMR developer said that the only current way that the WMR for SteamVR plugin and SteamVR’s OpenVR API can interface is through copying the screen buffer. This can consume large amounts of memory because of the G2 100% size (actually 146% 2160×2160) , especially when (dynamically) oversampling. They have found a possible solution with sharing a screenbuffer both parties are working on.

This is a shortcoming of the OpenVR API, which despite its name is pretty much bound to Valve hardware and implementation, with support for other HMDs bolted on by plugins, instead of each manufacturer implementing the API as a driver.

The only structural solution is OpenXR, which all VR manufacturers including Valve are pushing. The huge difference in performance can already be seen when comparing games like MSFS and Revive with SteamVR vs OpenXR WMR native support.

Honestly my experience so far with 60hz isn’t good – F1 2020 still feels a bit stuttery in 60hz, the same as in 90hz. I expected other games to be able to run with higher gfx settings on 60hz but performace between 60hz and 90hz seem to be the same in my test – except now having 60fps instead of 90fps.

Thanks for the 60hz tip, will give that a try tomorrow. I noticed that some games, although showing 90fps, somehow still don’t feel really smooth, like F1 2020 for example, while for example Wreckfest runs/feels really smooth (both in Immersive mode). Never thought of experimenting with the 60hz mode.
