I could launch it a few days ago, but now it says “Whoa! Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined” before it even launches. The cyberpunk launcher opens and I press the play button. The only thing that happens is that steamVR starts up and then I get the crash message and SteamVR stays up after cyberpunk crashes.
I just updated to the 1.5 patch, so I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue with the new patch?
I’m running it through steamvr with a pimax 8kx @ 60hz (75hz doesn’t work either)
RTX 3080 Laptop GPU, windows 11, 32 gigs ram
I reinstalled with the latest version of the standalone client. No mods and Intel CPU is disabled in the bios.
Hi Ralf,
First, huge thanks for the new CP2077 stuff. I’ve been using Vorpx for a while in Immersive Screen mode and super excited about your new release.
On a 3080 with a Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core. Using Reverb G2 with OpenXR.
Installed it, ramped my game settings down to default Medium. When I start the game, during the loading screen, the FPS drops to 1 and the game stutters and crashes.
Things I tried:
Made sure I didn’t have SteamVR running
Dropped down to Z-Render
Dropped down to default Low
Switched from Full VR to Immersive Screen
No matter how low I drive this thing, it deeps stalling, dropping FPS to nothing, and crashing. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
I wanted to say.. thank you!!! I really like Cyberpunk 2077, but this game really lacked VR, it was even strange to play a game about the future, new technologies, on a flat-screen when we already live in the VR era. With VR, it’s something mind-blowing, especially after adding gestures. An unusual futuristic cyberpunk world, city, technology, futuristic cars, and all this is not somewhere on the screen but in front of you! – I love VR for that. Thank you again :)
PS I have Vorpx and it’s cool, but can you do similar VR mods for other games? Dying Light 2, Metro Exodus, etc. I would even be willing to pay for each similar mod on the full-price of a new game (20-60$).
PPS sorry for my English, I’m from the CIS
Je viens de réinstaller tout le pc et j’ai mis que wmr pour le g2 (pas de steam pas d’oculus)
maintenant il me met:
I just reinstalled the whole pc and I put only wmr for the g2 (no steam no oculus)
now it puts me:
Unable to load vpxCP2077.asi. Error: 126
rien ce s’affiche dans le casque
nothing is displayed in the headset

to summarize
I installed cyberpunk via gog
I installed the vr mod by accepting everything and putting in the openxr config
I have a g2 reverb and a quest 2 with a 3080
I run WMR -> steam vr -> cyberpunk2077.exe
Is it possible that it comes from openxr opened by default with oculus instead of wmr?
Weird. Is there a file named version.dll in [CP2077]\bin\x64? That’s the main DLL from the Cyber Engine Tweaks modding frame work that does the inital hook. This version.dll should have a modfication date 2022/02/16 if it belongs to latest CET version.
Just to be sure please also check whether there maybe is a d3d12.dll, d3d11.dll or dxgi.dll in the same folder. If so remove them. Those would be interfering leftovers e.g. from Reshade.
Also please check whether your Cyberpunk version is actually 1.5. You can see that in the main menu.
I have all the files, I don’t use any mods and I just reinstalled the whole pc, and no antivirus except Windows.
I run the game with the Cyberpunk2077.exe executable and I don’t open gog
If you have other mods installed, please try without any other mods. Some (e.g. Reshade) may interfere since they override the same functions that the VR mod overrides.
If you have any tools running that hook into games (GPU/CPU tweak tools, FPS counter, chat apps etc.), disable them. Those might also get in the way.
Also please check whether the mod has been installed in the right folder. Browse to [CP2077]\bin\x64\plugins. in that folder you should see a file named vpxCP2077.asi, another one named cyber_engine_tweaks.asi and two similarly named folders. If these files/folders are missing, the mod has not been installed correctly.
Last but least: If you happen to use any other antivirus program than Windows Defender: get rid of it.
hello,
you mean the standalone cp2077 ? it doesnt work right now cause the game got updated to 1.5
wait a day or two till mods are being patched then it will work again.

Hello, I was eagerly waiting to be able to do cyberpunk 2077 in vr and so I reserved myself for that.
However, no matter how hard I try, I can’t get anywhere.
I have a gog version, I could see on the forum that others managed to make it work, but for my part nothing at all.
Thank you very much for your help and your time.
3080 and reverb g2
Dev update:
Release of the next version will be tomorrow (Saturday), at least unless some show stopper comes up during the final tests.
In a first step there will be nine gestures covering various typical actions in the game. I have some ideas for more, but I think for now that should suffice. Gestures are designed to closely mimic the action they are bound to, so they feel quite natural.
Most importantly: playing this way really is a whole new level for mods without full motion controller support. If you never used your motion controllers with vorpX so far, now – well, tomorrow actually ;) – is the time!

Just a little heads-up that the next release will be finally out later this week. Took a bit longer than I originally had anticipated to get the motion controller gesture stuff production ready, which now also includes a learning environment with graphical ingame explanations for each available gesture. Without that the whole system would have been pretty much useless since noone would have been able to figure it out.
Now all that is finally nearing completion, except for some gesture parameter finetuning and game testing. So I expect things to be ready for release within a few days. Throw away your gamepads and get ready for something more immersive! The gestures are a shitton more fun than pressing buttons, even when playing seated or in cinema mode. Just actually steering your car, being able to switch to aiming down sights with a natural gesture, or throwing a grenade really makes all the difference.
Gesture input lives happily alongside the regular motion controller gamepad emulation, so you can mix and match ‘normal’ input and gestures any way you want.
BTW: For everyone owning the regular vorpX version: the gesture system has evolved quite far from the quick and dirty CP2077 specific tests as shown in the videos on page 11 of this thread. It’s now a general system that will also make its way to other games.
Hi.
I’m new to VorpX so sorry for a noob question. What is the recommended way to play Cyberpunk 2077? With a VorpX on or standalone mod? So far I’ve quickly tried VorpX and found the FOV completely messed when driving a car. Standalone is kind of playable but occasionally crashes or gets quite uncomfortable at times when there is a lot going on and FPS drops below 72.
I’m playing on Quest 2 over link in 72Hz mode on Windows 11 machine with RTX 3080 and Intel 12700KF CPU . I’m using “Nicer” profile setting and Z-Normal. Mostly playing in the edge peak mode occasionally switching to full VR.
Maybe the installer picks a wrong path due to your SSD change. Run the installer again and then browse to your valid CP2077 install folder manually instead of just confirming the one the installer picks automatically.
