Hello,
I’ve recently bought vorpX and as far as i’ve used it i’m pretty dissapointed.
I’ve tested 3 games right now:
– Aliens Isolation,
– SOMA
– Crysis Warhead. In Aliens Isolation and SOMA both games was in window in googles (just a 3D window in front of me) moreover both games got strange blur when i was looking around – pretty frustrating and gave me motion sickness (i’ve played a lot of games so far without this problem).
In Crysis Warhead i’ve also got some problems but this time with controler (i’ve used gamepad) which seems to not work from time to time (i couldn’t move sides sometimes or turn around).
I’m not sure maybe i’m doing something wrong but for $40 this software is pretty shitty…
Topic: Potential problem with IPD?
I tried playing Crysis Warhead but could barely stay in my HMD for more than a minute. It felt like the IPD was way off and I could feel the muscles in my eyes straining (it took a while to recover afterwards). I also noticed it in HL2 when I briefly tried it, but it wasn’t as intense. I don’t have this problem in any VR title or VR mod (doom3bfg vr mod for example).
I’m using a Rift-S. My measured IPD is ~63 and I feel I fit perfectly in this HMD. I have tried adjusting the digital IPD in Oculus and even went to both extremes but it made no difference.
In-game I played with 3d geometry scaling and even disabled it, but I could still feel the pain. I also noticed I couldn’t focus on a lot of text (when looking at a gun on the floor a 3d popup displays with text) without closing one eye. It was doubled.
Could there be something wrong in the IPD translation? I looked online and it would seem that VorpX did have a manual IPD setting, but it was removed and now works directly with the value in Oculus (currently at its default 63.5). Is there an override or any way to add an offset, assuming this problem is IPD related?
Hi Ralf, i have a couple of questions about settings.
1) How can i change the sensitivity of the thumbsticks in gamepad emulation mode, so that the camera doesn’t turn so fast? I tried partial override option, but then the stick stops working. (Witcher 2)
2) Testing Crysis in Z3D, i set the resolution in VorpX ingame-menu to 2400p. It looks detailed enough, but the scale is off – everything around me looks too big. How can i fix this?
3) Is there a documentation about the settings in the VorpX ingame-menu? There’s so much settings (which i love), but almost half of them are cryptic to me. And that’s the reason i have to ask here. :)
If you are new to vorpX, you probably want to hop right into the action instead of learning how to configure vorpX. The list below contains first person games that work with litlle to no configuration in ‘Full VR’ due to vorpX’s DirectVR functionality, which can configure important things like field of view, head tracking or resolution automatically.
For third person games that are usually played best in immersive screen or cinema mode not much configuration is required in general, so this list focuses on first person ‘Full VR’ games that can be a little harder to configure without DirectVR.
If you are stuck, make sure to check the ‘Essential Hints Guide’ and the ‘Quick Reference’ in the help. They help you understand a few basic concepts.

Ralf, everything is awesome, runs perfect. I was just wanting to test something. The official profile for Prey (2017) only does z-normal and z-adaptive. The engine is CryEngine 4. I saw elsewhere on the forums where someone used a CryEngine 3 profile for a CryEngine 4 game with G3D. I attempted to change the name of prey.exe in order to attempt using the Crysis 3 game profile, but it won’t run if I do that. I was hoping I could ask if you could test out whether the Crysis 3 profile would hook with Prey 2017 and whether it would interpret the 3D. I’ve been playing Prey 2017 and its awesome, but the Z3D is strange for some upclose textures. Whenever you have the time or ability, I’d appreciate it. I’m sure you’re busy.
