Hi Ralf,
There is a profile for Sekiro which is optimised for Third person play
Its in immersive screen etc.
Dark Souls 3 (which I believe is the same engine) also has a profile designed this way.
Now,
Both games have a first person mod, via, cheat engine.
Dark souls 3 can be put into full vr mode and tweaked. The results are great. Fantastic scale, great geometry 3d and positional tracking.
Unfortunately I have run into a problem with Sekiro,
I had assumed it would behave just like dark souls 3…..and for the most part it does.
Bit the lighting/shadows glitch like a S.O.B when positional tracking is enabled.
Is there anything that can be done (like in Dark Souls 3) to fix that issue?
Many thanks in advance

KURSK (steam version) (G3D)
I grabbed this on sale for super cheap and though it looked interesting. It’s a lot of back and forth, but kind of fun to explore the old submarine. G3D is good with no real issues, although performance is quite poor, so maybe don’t expect a smooth headtracking experience if you plan to keep a respectable resolution.
Load times between each sealed door can be annoying at times, so perhaps installing on an SSD might help some. Enjoy
– use a 16:9 resolution (1920×1080) in windowed mode, otherwise HUD may not scale correctly, which is important for reading subtitles
– set FOV to max 80 in game options
– use Low graphics settings, with High textures and TAA On
– turn Off motion blur*Graphics settings seem not to save after you quit, so you may need to reset them and FOV each time you launch the game
*Switch to Z3D when using PDA/computers for better readability
*Set G3D Shadow treatment to OFF if you prefer the darker clean look without global illumination
*Tested on HP Reverb with mouse and keyboard, steam version only.Hey everyone,
So ive been with Vorpx for awhile and with Lockdown 2020 going on… i assume a fair amount of us are largely indoors, looking for games to play (maybe getting bored of the games we got since we are this far into it.)
So – I thought, may not be a horrible idea to share what Vorpx experiences we had that we thought were exceptionally good (or just exceptionally unique and need to be experienced)
So, Im offering my top picks here and some of them require Mods.
First of all – Dark Souls 3 with First Person Mod.
https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls3/mods/20/?Now, to use this mod it does require you basically “not using” many of the games mechanics. You cant really use the Lock On ability because the first person camera mod basically makes Lock on go TOTALLY insane… So you pretty much are stuck playing the game as a quick 2 handed character. Now, this sounds awful, but once you get the flow of things (and things are indeed easier to dodge in first person – you see those swings coming) you will be massacring the Dark Souls 3 monsters with well timed rolls and a solid 2 handed weapon.
Now, I dont want anyone to feel like Im sending them to their deaths here, so there is a GREAT 2 handed weapon available at the start of the game, after you kill the first boss.
https://youtu.be/dvUxVcNBfDk?t=78
Watch that video and he will lead you to the best two handed option early in game that you can level up and use all the way to the end of the game – im not lying, beat the game with zero lock on and just dodging and using that sword, leveling it up as i went. So unfortunately – Shield blocks and Spellcasting are kinda out of the window since Lock on doesnt work right… but its still an incredible experience to see the beautifucally horrific monsters in Dark Souls 3 up close and the ‘fun part’ is – your sword SWINGS where you are ‘looking’ – so there is some degree of motion controls because you will be slashing at one dude and turn your head to hit his buddy and your sword slash WILL follow your ‘face’… so you aim with your head.. its kinda glorious and fun if youre a Dark Souls Fan.
Anyways, Dark Souls 3 is totally playable like this (if youre a souls fan, i think most of us agree, Dark Souls 3 is far and away the easiest of the bunch, so this isnt impossible. Now this does use CheatEngine so you want to be playing offline for this mod)
Next up, Sekiro with a first person mod.
This one I have NOT finished the game yet – but – it seems to work much better than the Dark Souls 3 mod, it doesnt make the camera go wonky on lock ons so you can lock onto your enemies and “stand your ground” as you normally would in Sekiro (and parries seemed WAY easier in first person, seeing when their sword is about to hit you is alot easier when theyre right in your face)

This one is much easier to get up and running, dont need to worry about getting a specific sword and everything. For extra fun – if you wanted to feel a bit more like Spider Man + Sekiro, you can increase the range of your grapple hook as well, this one is just for funsies, but fuck it,youre modding the game anyhow :P

So thats the end of my Souls recommendations haha.
Onto some other fun ones. GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas and GTA 4 all have First person mods and work great in Vorpx. GTA5 has a few VR mods out there and i havent dug into it yet to know whats better or not, but you can get first person mods for Vice City and San Andreas and 4 and experience driving your car in first person, looking over your shoulder (they actually have an animation where when you look into your blind spot you see your characters shoulder leaning back like in real life to check a blind spot lol).. and being in VR listening to the absurd radio shows that pop up on there is just alot of fun.
Also just great out of the box experiences – All the Metro games. Even though it doesnt have full 3d I found a good profile for Evil Within 2 and that game features a good first person mode, it might be fun for survival horror fans to just put it up on immersive screen mode.. it was a ton of fun when I played it.
Just trying to give some recommendations to my fellow Vorpxers about games that are out there that are alot of fun.
Please feel free to add your personal favorites to this list so we can try to see if we might be able to help eachother pick out our next games
Topic: Convergence issue
I’m using Pimax 5k+. I’m having a convergence issue with one game in particular. Thief: Dark Shadows. It works fine aside that I’m seeing double. IPD for Pimax is set and looks fine in other games. I was hoping there is a method to adjust the convergence for this?
Recently reinstalled VorpX to run around some, Oculus Rift been collecting some dust recently but in light of our quarantine I wanted to have some fun. Decided to get Amnesia The Dark Decent a try. Now I don’t know if the what I put in the title is the “right” term for my problem, but when you put on your Oculus now you are in what I am calling the home room that you design and look at menus. No idea if that is what Oculus calls it.
Anyway, I open up the Rift, then I open up Steam, then I run the game (any game) and the game runs. I see a quick message about VorpX hooking in to the game and on my Monitor I “see” what should be displaying in the Rift, a spit Left/Right view of the game, but in the headset I am still in my home room thing. I can’t figure out if there is an “exit” to that room or something, I can run other games I have from the Oculus Store, but it never seems to display VorpX.
One of the things I think might be an issue is in General under Device Selection it just says Generic VR Headset (extended mode), and while trying to re-learn how to use VorpX I have seen several screen shots or videos of that screen where it actually says Oculus Rift there… But that isn’t an option in my dropdown.
Any tips on what I am missing?
Hi, new to VR but been looking into buying and other possibilities for a couple of years, hence why I’ve jumped straight into the deep end with vorpX !
Some questions to trouble you all with:
1. Is a game profile required for any .exe that I require to be hooked?
2. Is creating a vorpX shortcut to my game the only way to run my game with vorpX ? I don’t understand.
3. If I don’t want to universally change my Pimax settings (to those that vorpx requires), can I create PiTools games profiles for Vorpcontrol.exe and Vorpdeskop.exe? Will the settings be honored by the service?
4. Do I need to create a game profile within PiTools for any game I launch with vorpX ?
5. vorpX Desktop doesn’t run, well there is something going on but nothing appears in my headset. A very dark grey background, that’s all. I’ve tried admin mode with/without. Tried alternative hook method. Nothing.
6. If a game cannot be hooked and I get an error message to the effect of “hook failed”, what simple measures can I try (other than admin mode)
