TheBaltParticipantUnfortunately i only played kingdom come with regular mods and vorpx, i wasnt aware of any motion control stuff going on with that one. If you got info on that, im 100% interested cause that game could be awesome if you were actually prepping the swings.
I really recommend tho – having been messing with VR since DK2.. Walking Dead Saints and Sinners is the best implementation of VR into an actual “GAME” that ive seen yet. I really would recommend you refund skyrim and fallout and get that if youre short on cash. Skyrim and Fallout are great – but they are very much so “vr tacked on” – it works, its fun, just like games in Vorpx are fun even tho they arent 100% VR…
But if youre really looking for the most legitimate “oh shit, this is what you CAN do with VR”… i think Walking Dead makes the strongest argument for VR that ive seen in all these years since DK2 first got out into the wild.
And i did try Dark messiah of Might and Magic and it just didnt hold up for me well enough to get past like the first hour or so.. might be exactly your type of game, so might have a blast with it.
My best vorpx experiences have been Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro with first person mods. Mass Effect andromeda with first person mod… and others but my brain cant think of em all right now, lol. i got evil within 2 running in vorpx at one point, i think i used a dishonored profile and that worked awesome, but people have said it doesnt work anymore with that profile, i dont know, youd have to test it yourself, but if you get it to work, it was awesome with the first person mode in that game.
Dark Souls 3 is great in first person vr if you wanted to try it but you cant use the lock on – you need to basically play a 2 handed rolling character without a shield or magic, the ‘mod’ to get it in first person just doesnt ‘play well’ with the lock on. For Sekiro its much smoother and that isnt really an issue, loved em both in Vorpx. Sekiro does have mods on nexusmods to add ‘invincibility frames’ to your dodge like Bloodborne if you wanted to make it a more ‘palatable’ experiene. It can be difficult if youre getting ganged up on in that game and dont have i frames in first person, i played without it, but i can definitely see how it could be essential for some players.

EldaerParticipantOne last message :P Gonna try out duke nukem 3d next, dunno if its as well translated as hl1 and q1-2 though. I doubt it. Also wanted to put it on the record, I bought skyrim vr and fallout 4 vr(just cause it was so discounted, I hate paying for that shit again) and its amazing, bethesda couldnt make a bugfree game with a gun to their head! I spent more time making those two playable properly than any non vr game I done :P But once I got them stable and a conservative amount of enhancment mods their pretty awsome. Also was wondering of you tried might and magic dark messiah through vorpx? So far its the game that looks and runs best so far, its look to aim ofc but doesnt seem to be a problem in that type of game, also tried kingdom come, it seems worth playing with look to aim aswell, but saw a youtube video of someone using motion controls to punch and maybe swing sword. Didnt find any sources or guides for it though

RJK_Participant@grumdark now you can make a donation to Ralf for the new Generic Monitor option ;-)
@Cetera
Setting up games should be very easy now. Just choose “Generic Monitor” as device in the vorpx config app, make a custom resolution or simply use the resolution of your tv. Switch through the different modes that are available (Full VR, Cinema) to see what suits best.BTW: I have just tested a 1920×1080 passive TV yesterday with a 3D film and it looked awful (half resolution per eye). No wonder noone bought 3D TVs. For my taste, at least a 4k TV is needed for a good image.

TheBaltParticipantWell i’ve tryed:
– Crysis – doesn’t even start.
– Shadow Warrior 2 – Everything is so much upscaled, dark (it’s heavy to see anything), when i’m turning or moving everything is shuttering – it’s unplayable.
– Bioshock – far now the best – working pretty god but still everything is so upscaled.I think i will not using vorpX for now i believe you shouldn’t charge money for this software. Where and how can i get my money back?
I wanted to add, the reason for my previous post trying to encourage you to keep the program isnt just because it does work when you find the rights settings.. but ive put it thru absurd scearios and the part that always works is vorpx.
I played Dark Souls 3 with a First person cheatengine mod with Geometry3d.
I played Mass Effect Andromeda with a first person mod with vorpx and geometry 3d.
I am currently in a first person mod playthru, with vorpx, in Sekiro.
This program can make games play in a way you never thought possible, coupled with the proper mods and stuff. Sekiro in first person VR is intense and amazing, Mass effect gets a bad rap but man, just gameplay wise in first person with that games insane combat system was an absolute blast.
I didnt mean to sound demeaning toward you in the previous post, i apologize, i just wanted to emphasize what this program CAN DO when you just work with it a little bit.. its totally up to you to ask for a refund, im not sure of those policies and like i said, i have nothing to do with the staff or company or anything, just a user… but this program has changed games i never thought would be fun to return to (like deus ex) or games into entirely new experiences like Sekiro modded out.
If you already got your refund and are done with it, all good.. just wanted you to know, this program has potential for incredible gaming experiences if youre willing to put the time into getting your settings right.. it sucks that the settings arent an easy across the board thing, but, it really just depends on each computer and their setup and preferences for how they want to play… what may seem like too complicated of options right now for you are going to be exactly the options you want once you learn the program a little bit. My best bet would maybe look around youtube for vorpx tutorials to maybe get your feet wet on the fundamental stuff..
but really man.. it made mass effect andromeda not suck. :P hooray for vorpx, they saved the mass effect franchise for me :) lol
Thanks for your time, sorry for bugging on your post twice
take care!

You purchased a product that requires some ‘work’ from the user because it is doing something that was simply never intended – turning 2d games into VR experiences. Your computer, resolution, game settings and vorpx settings ALL play into this.
the games you have complained about i have made run very well and enjoyed even on an old card, im using a gtx 780.
I am not the creator of vorpx… but as a long time user, i can tell you that your complaints are 100% rectifieable, by you, if youre willing to put the time in and just fiddle with settings for a few minutes. Its literally impossible to make a perfect profile for every PC and headset – you need to use your game settings and the vorpx in game menu to get the games looking as theyre ‘supposed to’, unless theyre one of the directVR officially scanned games. Crysis not launching is 99% chance a driver issue or something and not vorpx’s fault. If you want to totally refresh your drivers and see if that rectifies your launching problems, there is a program called DDU, google it, itll basically reset all your drivers/directx info and set you up with a ‘fresh’ graphics card and that may fix your crysis problem… i really doubt its related to vorpx unless something else is fundamentally broken in your system

screeching4VRParticipantHello just got vorpx and wanted try GTFO in VR. What profile could work? Try play with general settings and game works but all info and HUV are not visible. Also game looks much more dark than in desktop mode. Any way to increse brightness?
Jan 16, 2020 at 12:33pm #191938In reply to: I've setup 3D TV working Vorpx profiles
GrocsParticipantHi RJK,
In answer to your earlier questions around 3D TVs:
Any TV that supports 3D should work but I find the passive 3D TVs the best in my experience. They seem to be mainly made by LG, and to be honest you may not find a new 3D TV. The last time LG supported 3D was from their 2017 models I believe. Passive 3D means you can just use the 3D glasses similar to the ones found in cinemas (polarised 3D).
My TV for example is this one – https://www.lg.com/au/tvs/lg-65UB950T
Other manufacturers like Sony or Samsung used Active 3D, which meant you had to use special 3D glasses that were powered by a small battery.
HDMI usually works fine and that is what I’m using for my PC.
Most games are in widescreen these days. I haven’t seen any black borders on all of the games I’ve played. Half SBS normally means there is no change in the ratio. In Vorpx’s case if you are using a G3D supported profile it renders the image twice (requiring more CPU power of course).
Normal distance is fine. I usually sit about 2.5 metres away from the TV. Darker rooms benefit when viewing 3D.
Jan 5, 2020 at 9:42am #191611In reply to: Sekiro: Blocky shadows in right eye
FlubbaduParticipantIn order to get an effect as big as in the first screenshot you have to use the first person mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/474
Here is another example with comparison of first versus third person:

The screenshot I posted first in this thread is the most extreme case, you must be:
1. Looking down at an illuminated patch
2. In a dark area
3. With something big blocking left eye but not right eyeIn that case, the first person mod makes Sekiro invisible except for his arms, and if you are looking down while Sekiro is facing to the right, his left shoulder will block a good chunk of the image. Since it is so close to the camera, it can make a large difference in perspective between left and right eye.
I will send the save from the above screenshots in case you want it. If you really want the spot from the first screenshot maybe I can provide it later this week, but I am fairly confident it is the same issue, and like I said, it is just an extreme but uncommon case.
Jan 3, 2020 at 1:43pm #191557In reply to: Sekiro: Blocky shadows in right eye
FlubbaduParticipant3D-Strength was already at 1.0, adjusting did not fix the issue except by setting to 0.0 of course.
Here is what I am seeing in the right eye:

Issue appears to only occur in lighted areas, like looking at the patch of illuminated floor around this torch. If I set up the same perspective in a dark area, there is no issue. It is like the area is not getting the proper lighting data for the area obscured in the left eye image.
I have tried adjusting all the settings in the vorpx menu in-game and also changing graphic settings on the game itself but none seem to have any effect.

Stryker_66ParticipantThanks for insisting that there has to be an issue. I checked several OpenGL games before release, but apparently never checked EdgePeek with them. The issue is already identified.
Thanks for addressing this. I was going to send a post today regarding this issue since I noticed the issue of an upside down display with Amnesia: The Dark Descent (opengl game) when invoking EdgePeek. I thought maybe I had too much Xmas drinky….lol
Happy holiday all!

steph12Participanthello,
using life is strange 2 official profile i got this game working in G3D and let me tell you, it looks absolutely gorgeous in G3D.
disable fluidsync movement for this game in steamVR perf setting will remove some glitch.
i play 1920*1080 all ultra except aliasing off and vsync off and with the following setup it’s playable but not smooth as i’d like :
5820k 4.4
gtx 1080
16gb ddr4
win10 64so if you have less powerful computer be ready to drop settings down.
some shadows glitches (specially character shadows) in and there but overall it’s an amazing experience and once again it looks incredible.
i also use legacy hooking vorpx method (i dont know if that matters cause i didnt bother the other hooking method for this game :p)
well enjoy, and if it doesnt work for u come back here and let me know, i’ll try to help as best i can.

dellrifter22ParticipantHmm, that might be a tricky one. I can’t seem to find any info on what engine it uses, other than Dead Rising 1, 2, and 3 all used different engines.
Profiles from Unreal Engine 3 and Unity would be my first attempt, as common engines I sometimes get lucky with. I’m guessing DR2 is dx9 based, so you might try the Unreal Engine 3 base profile or one of the older Call of Duties. Then Anna, or Slender: The Arrival which are both Unity dx9 I believe.
Lastly, it might be worth trying with Source engine like Half Life 2 before giving up.
No idea if any of these will work, that’s just what I would try if I had the game.
Might have a chance for DR1 though with profiles from Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen or Lost Planet 2, which seem to share the MT Framework engine.
