Is it possible to play this game in full VR? Something like dolphin VR? lol

Good news for this question actually! So, apparently you can play this game in true VR! I got Nayuta no Kiseki (+English Patch) running in real VR in the PPSSPP VR emulator! (Full emulator setup here.):

The HUD starts out zoomed out so you have to use the freelook camera to zoom forward and backward accordingly.

Sadly, no. The best we can get is the 3D that Vorpx creates. The only external emulator that has full VR function, like you said, is Dolphin VR and Dolphin VR only plays: Gamecube, Wii and N64 games in true VR.

I’ve only discovered this recently, but it seems that all of the cloud profiles (and the old suggested dolphin profile) don’t work anymore. Only one actually booted into vr, but the screen was bugged and running at approximately 5 fps (guess). I was wondering if there are settings I need to change, or if there is an old version I need to use, or some other answer. Desperate to try this out! Especially for Star Fox 64 3ds version, Super Mario 3d Land, and Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. I own all of these, but would much prefer to play on a bigger screen. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been using VorpX more and more on almost every one of my ‘old school’ PC games, and I can’t thank Ralf enough for making such an awesome tool. It works, not withstanding some tweaking, on almost all of the classics…running the gamut of first person, third person, driving, and flight games. Just find a profile…in the cloud or packaged within. If one can’t find the exact game…just identify the engine and/or rendering setup of a similarly laid-out game of that vintage, then test and tweak to find a combo that works.
Recently I’ve stumbled across a gem of an emulator, Xemu…as well as a site that’s an ‘archive’ of sorts with a whole host of vintage Xbox games who’s ready-to-run XISO images can be loaded by the emulator with ease. I won’t say where, as I’m not affiliated with them, but with a little ‘Vimm’ one can find it easily ;) It’s the first truly user-friendly and least-buggy Xbox emulator/Image combo I’ve found since the Xbox of old gave up the ghost and I’ve migrated to the PC for most of my gaming for convenience sake, as I’m sure many have. The last few releases have come a long way since the emulator scene began, and I know I speak for a lot of us fans of the old Xbox when I say that playing an old title in VR, even just on an immersive big-screen in 3d would breath a lot of life into those old gems.
With that, I implore you Ralf…or anyone who can help. is there any way we could get or make a profile for the Xemu Emulator? I saw you had made a Dolphin Emulator profile, and for the heck of it I tried to apply it to the Xemu program…but no dice. An OpenGL 4.0-compatible GPU is required, so I presume the OpenGL platform is what it renders the emulated games in. It’s a free to use emulator…one just has to source an Xbox BIOS. Once again, with a little sleuthing one can find that easily enough. I would hope this makes it easier for you, Ralph…if you’re ever so inclined…either from the prospect of the users who would flock to VorpX for it…or maybe you’re an old school Xbox fan like me who has a few games you just can’t get with an Xbox Pass. Thank you either way, as VorpX is an awesome tool regardless.

    Hey Ghost75757,

kept you waiting huh ? :)

I didnt play any VR last year, my headstrap of my VIVE is not good anymore and i bought an new Pico 4 this year, but sadly it had defective Lenses (its an Quality Product Issue) with Lens Disortions and i had to return it after the first day. I now want to wait until i get my 2nd one.

When i get my 2nd Pico 4 with hopefully perfect lenses, then i cant wait to play this Game in cinematic Mode VR ;)

Thanks for your Guide with this Camera Tool, i cant wait to try it ;)

To answer your Question: The Trick was, to Pause the watcher, when you wanted to play via the Desktop Viewer, because if you didnt pause the watcher, the games automatically hooked then in Vorpx and interfered ;)

By the way, did you already play MGS2 and MGS3 via PCSX2 Emulator with the 3D Plugin ?
    Its great.
Also there is now an 3rd Person Mod for Metal Gear Solid 2 PC Version, if this Game also had an Vorpx Profile ;)

Also, you you can play Twin Snakes via Dolphin VR or via “Normal Dolphin with SBS Mode for Cinematic VR experience.
And there is an great Boneworks Metal Gear Solid Mod. Just for your Interest ;)

Hi, I bought vorpX initially for 3d on my projector and it served me very well for that, I have now got myself a VR headset and for the most part it is working great, it is truly a great thing for VR and 3d… the issue I am having is that vorpX will not hook to my dolphin emulator for some reason, is there something else I need to do to make it work? I have tried the usual things but it just will not hook to it, I have the latest version of dolphin installed.

The future of VorpX is the past. The best games have already been made. I’m hoping Ralf can get Direct X 1 working with VorpX. The new games are just SJW wank anyway.

It would be wicked if he could make something like 3DSenVR for older pixelated games like UFO: Enemy Unknown (1994). I would buy another VorpX app just for those games or something like a 3-D emulator fork for XBOX/Wii/PS2 etc the way that the Dolphin VR and PSP VR forks work.

That would be cool, and I would pay for that too!

Hey man thanks for testing out games and stuff. Here’s some content ideas:

PPSSSPP <– VR PSP. I’ve played through testing almost the entire library including some of the rom translation hacks. There are TONS of good games which translate to VR environments. I haven’t seen any YT channels covering that yet.

Dolphin VR -> Rogue Squadron, Mega Man Command Mission, Phantasy Star CARD, Paper Mario TTYD, Battallion Wars.

Wii VR – > Elebits, Xenoblade Chronicles.

I would really like to see the emulated stuff and the correct settings for the emulators, like culling codes etc etc That would save me alot of time and give your content something to ‘stand out’.

Also if you could cover the Xwing Alliance/Tie Fighter Total Conversion VR mod and Startopia, that would be helpful. Installation from Start to Finish and tweaking txt file editing etc would save alot of people time.

The game came out originally on PS2 and Gamecube. If you can get it running on either the Dolphin or PCSX2 Emulator, you can use G3D in VorpX. You may even be able to play it with DolpinVR (not likely). I also see that it’s available on Steam. Since the game was originally made with RenderWare on PS2, maybe you can use the GTA San Andreas profile or another profile with the Steam version.

To play with the Quest2, you need a Link cable (any USB C) and Oculus Home software, and/or SteamVR (compatible with Virtual Desktop for streaming).

Hi! Thank you for your post. I’m using Oculus Quest 2 with Link Cable and Steam VR, but there is no VR for killer7.

So, yeah, i need to use VorpX. Do you think that if i’ll buy this software everything will works in the right way? What about the controls? I tried to change it but it looks impossible to play Quest 2 with killer7. Is that my fault?

If it’s not hooking via Steam, then you can try the Dolphin emulator, but you have to import the Dolphin Emulator Profile from the cloud if it’s not local now. It’s G3D on Cinema Mode though (Didn’t try Immersive). Dolphin has to be set to SBS in the graphics setting. I used the XBOne controller, but you can use the Quest controllers as a standard controller.

No software purchase necessary other than VorpX.

If Dolphin is like other emulators, vorpx won’t hook until you actually run a game. You also need to gave your graphics api set to opengl, and the vorpx profile for dolphin expects the input to be in sbs format, if I’m not mistaken.
