Something odd going on with my emails getting them from vorpx domain.

This pc had windows re-installed and I need a new download link and have sent several requests and over a period of several hours not received anything back.

I decided to test something, I registered for a forum login using the same email I have on record for my purchase of vorpx and I never even got the “please check your email” for that either.

Next I used my secondary email for this forum registration and I got that email within one minute. So I was wondering if I could get that download link sent to me on a working email address I do have. I have also sent this request directly to support |at| vorpx com but not heard anything back. Thank you for reading.

The first thing you should do whenever a Direvt VR scan does not work as expected is restarting the game. As said before, Unreal engine games have the habit of changing the memory locations for rotation/position/fov, which also may vary from PC to PC. Restarting the game ensures that the memory layout is as close as possible to what the Direct VR profile for the game in question expects.

    Apart from that:

If you use anything else than Windows Defender as your antivirus, get rid of it. Some AV programs may prevent Direct VR from working correctly.

The same may be true for recording software that hooks into games. So if you do your recoding via software, check whether maybe starting the game with/without recording software makes a difference.

Same for anything else that can hook into games (CPU/GPU utilities of any kind, messengers etc.).

In general: the most important aspect of Direct VR is the 1:1 head tracking. If the FOV scan fails for you, you can almost always compensate that with one of the other methods that vorpX provides to address FOV. For all three Bioshock games for example it can be done quite easily with the Game Settings Optimizer in the config app.

You normally only get sick when doing the movements wrong. Short, targeted, fast movements should prevent it. I am normally not prone to it though and I use 180 and ~90 degree bursts to turn, so the only movement I really see and that has a chance to get me motion sick is from running forward and strafing. It should work same way on VR theoretically. I will find out soon I hope ;)

For using VorpX in shooters I need the ability to switch to “view mode” by keeping a button pressed, as described above. Or for a game where I only shoot via iron sights, I need the opposite. That means by default the head tracking needs to control the mousemovement, but the moment I press right mouse for iron sights, the headtracking control over the mouse needs to be disabled, until I let go of the button.

Can VorpX do that? Shooting while headtracking still influences the mouse, will inevitably lower accuracy.

I know you must be thinking I have not done exactly what was depicted in the license dialog but i have made sure that my name and email address looked exactly like it was said it needed to be and made sure it was the way it was in the email sent to me to confirm my purchase but still not success in the matter so i have uninstalled this and reinstalled it 3 times restarted my computer made sure that no firewall was preventing it from functioning at full capacity , but it still does not go through and keeps giving me the same message saying that the registration could not be verified , so i would really like to use this software since i have paid for it so can i get an explanation to why it dose not work or a solution to the problem?

Hey I have a problem with my CV1 in Black Mesa. When the game starts, it will run for the first 22 seconds. But after that:

    – Rift CV1 Display gets stuck
    – Game is still reacting to input (so game did not crash)
    – I even can play on the monitor
    – Head tracking still works as I can see on the monitor
    – If I hit “Del” as Vorpx-Control Hotkey, I can see it in the Rift; cursor also works in VorpX-Hotkey-Menu.
    – Happens exactly after 22 seconds, no matter if I stayed in the Black Mesa Menu that long or loaded a game.

So it is “just” the display of the rift being “stuck”.

Other games work, tried Ryse: Son of Rome and Half-Life 2.
Exiting Oculus Tray tool did not work as well.

The best bet for getting games to work that have no profile is creating a custom profile in the config app. To do that you can make copies of exisiting games on the local profiles page and then assign the main .exe to the newly created profile.

Ideally the base profile should stem from a game using the same graphics engine. In that case you might even get 3d to work.

There is no guarantee though to make an unknown game work this way.

I didn’t do anything special and it works for me, except that the first time I start Skyrim, it comes up on the monitor instead of VR: I get the ‘TESV.exe is taking a while to start’ message, but VorpX never switches to VR.

The second time, it usually comes up with no problems.

I also run with the ENB Injector, but all ENB graphics options disabled, to get the ENB memory manager to prevent mod crashes.

    New user of vorpx here….

So far I can’t get Skyrim to launch in it, though the very first time it did launch and all I clicked was the DirectVR scan as advised. After closing and relaunching it has never launched again correctly, only with a black screen window on the desktop and the sound from the game.

I’ve tried every setting with Vorpx to reset to default and even loaded a few profiles from the cloud profiles area but nothing has got me past this.

Any ideas where to look/fix this as it did launch the first time but now nothing :(

Ralf would gladly update you on the progress that’s being made but plenty of you showed him that’s not an option. Lots of people would say things like how bout an update, we just want info, we won’t hold you to anything, we just want ballpark…. he gives his best guess then the NEXT post people are holding him to it.. you guys whine for info then you get it and then you bitch and moan just like you said you weren’t going to do lol… ralph learned to not give out any info or possible release dates cuz you all piss and moan if he’s off even a few days.

@Chopin sorry to hear you are having similar problems to me. Hopefully between us we can get to the bottom of the problem.

I do have a slightly different experience from you in that:

instead of showing the overlay with its various status bars, the image will just freeze for a few seconds, and then when it’s moving again, the geometry of the head tracking is still completely skewed like you’re using the z-buffer setting instead of the geometry setting.

I don’t get this problem with freezing and skewed geometry. For me nothing happens as if you haven’t pressed the scan button. I presume you still get the “Run Scan” button in the VorpX menu? I don’t even get that.

I would love to utilize my wealth of NVIDIA Ansel 360 photographs as cinema environments in vorpX, but absolutely none of them can be imported. Not even images from the suggested sources will import!

I’ve tried resizing images, using different formats, disabling antivirus and running vorpX with admin privileges, but nothing seems to work.

The error message is: “Import aborted: processing failed. [path to image]”

I get this error whether attempting to import with the “Add Image File” button or the drag-n-drop. Some advice would be appreciated.

Is it theoretically possible to do Z3D/G3D on games that normally work with fine Tridef even if they’re not officially supported by VorpX by copying profiles like suggested by Ralf?

In other words: Would I be wasting my money buying Tridef and using it with virtual desktop? Would using VorpX on anything that works with Tridef essentially accomplish the same thing if I am looking for a virtual screen with at least Z3D support?

Has anyone managed to get any sort of 3D working with Unreal Engine 4 games? I’m mainly interested in seeing if it’s possible to get playerunknown’s battlegrounds working on a virtual screen with Z3D or even G3D. Unreal engine 3 games work great with VorpX.

I’m basically addicted to using my headset and I can’t imagine playing games on a flat monitor.

Reshade has a 3D shader called SuperDepth3D which is able to render 3D in Unreal Engine 4 games by getting the depth map information. Just amke sure to run the game in fullscreen

Ok, looking for information on my old hard drives,I found this information about “patching” big hands on Skyrim, which I mentioned earlier, with Ralf’s response included.

    Ralf comments:
In regard to the big hands:
    1. Open [Documents]\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini with a text editor
    2. Set the fDefault1stPersonFov value to 120. If it doesn’t exist, add it under [Display]
    3. Save and run Skyrim. You may need to swap between third and first person or even open the quad (star) menu and from there the map to apply the new value for some reason. After doing this once it will stick.

    —————————————————————————-
    Additionally Grumdark comments:
I am sure that applying step 2 and 3 was completely necessary in my case to fix the problem.
In addition to these steps, I increase a little value by default, for the (3dscale) option in vorpx menu,to get a slightly better result yet.
Final results were much better, after applying these changes.

Take a look though, to make sure that any possible value in the enhanced camera mod file could interfere with, overwrite or prevent result.
