    Topic: 90 hz

Hp reverb only works at 90hz when at 1080p if I try to go higher resolution have to be at 60 HZ or headsets does not turn on, is this part of vorpx or my video card rx 570 cuz my monitor can go higher than 60 HZ. Just trying to have a higher resolution in game because I cannot set at a higher resolution if the monitor is set at 1080p. Could create a custom resolution but again it only likes it at 60 HZ.

Actually, spoke to soon. The menu box with weapon details now pups up and stays around around for the first equipped weapon, which was not happening before. But there is still nothing when the cursor goes over the second and third weapons, unequipped weapons in the backpack, weapon stat comparisons, etc.

So a wider resolution may be necessary after all. Would be great to be able to try 3840×2160. Is there some easy way to do that through the mod that the others have figured out? Typing 3840×2160 into the UserSettings text file does not work because immediately upon closing the file it reverts to the lowest resolution. And the customize resolution option is greyed out in Nvidia control panel, possibly because of my monitor. But anyway I’m sure I could figure this one out on my own with just a bit more research if it needs to be done externally from the mod.

I wanted to try the 2013 Tomb Raider with VorpX and I applied the VorpX profile.

Then I wanted to revert to the original settings and I did it through VorpX’s restore game settings option. The problem is that when I went to run the game, I forgot that VorpX was on and it changed the original game settings back to the VorpX profile.

I want to go back to the original game settings and I can’t, because the change game settings option in VorpX is now empty for this game. I’ve even uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but the available game settings are just what vorpX allows, not the originals. How do I remove VorpX settings for this game?

Scratch my last idea. I uninstalled and deleted the mod again, manually deleted any straggler files, and then reinstalled. The gamepad bindings were different than what I had last, and back to the somewhat unusual mix I started with (e.g., with RB being bound to M instead of something that that makes sense for grenades or combat, left stick click was back to ctrl crouch instead of shift sprint like as I rekeyed it).

I just thought that might be it because the d-pad buttons just say “up,” “down,” “left,” and “right” in the mod’s gamepad bindings menu and I thought maybe those were just keyboard commands instead of gamepad d-pad commands. And they still do nothing when I hit them.

Thanks you! I don’t think it was the problem directly, but uninstalling Avast allowed me to see an error I did not previously receive during the mod install process, indicating that the files were write-protected. That problem persisted despite me ensuring that the CP directory was not read-only, using admin mode, changing the write settings for the entire drive, etc.

Eventually I figured out that the mod was installing to drive E despite the CP directory being on drive C. The problem may have been caused by some stray registry file from before I switched to Windows 11 and reinstalled everything. It’s possible that in Windows 10 I had Steam install CP to a drive that was previously labeled E. In any case, I finally resolved that problem and was able to install the mod with the current CP install on drive C.

So we’re making progress! Now finally back in the mod on Windows 11, I had the same problem I had in Windows 10. The mod menu recognized my Quest 2 controllers even in Gamepad mode, but none of my controller inputs were recognized in CP unless I switched to keyboard and mouse mode in the mod settings. And as before, there are lots of key bindings that are not possible (including Z).

But I finally figured it out. It is necessary to change the mod settings to enable the full override of the xbox gamepad controls. By default that is set to off, but it needs to be on. When that is done, almost everything works. It’s awesome.

Just two final issues, one of which is particularly important to solve because it’s still not possible to reassign inputs corresponding to the Z key (or many other keys, such as M, J, P, but Z is the only one that is indispensable). In gamepad mode, functions corresponding to Z (as well as other keys that control calling phone, etc.) are bound to the d-pad buttons. When I hold the left grip button, the secondary buttons are visible on the controller overlay and I can see that the d-pad buttons are mapped as secondary buttons for the left joystick directions. However, these do not work–nothing happens when I hold left grip and work the left joystick. All of the other secondary buttons work great. Any ideas how to solve it? Without the d-pad working and it not being possible to assign Z, there is no way to switch from the data and hacks displays in the scanner/tab mode, and no way to toggle between different objections on the active quest.

But we’re almost there! Thanks for all of your patience, I really appreciate it. This is stunning in full, maxed setting VR with psycho ray tracing. And the HUD overlay is fantastic after adjusting to get out of the Quest 2’s blurry peripheral areas.

Definitely better to use Link. If you used VD before that might even be the culprit, i.e. both VD and vorpX emulating a gamepad at the same time may cause problems. Make sure to exit the VD Streamer on the PC. Not sure whether it does anything whithout being connected to the VD Quest app, but just in case. I‘ll check whether I can somehow replicate the issue.

I also don’t really have an idea why you can’t bind certain keys in KB/M mode TBH. Never experienced (or even heard of as far as I can remember) anything like that.

If you have anything running in the background that potentially hooks into games or affects input in some way, try to disable that. If in doubt try to disable all potential background utils you may have running.

Overall great mod, thank you for making it. But I have this same issue as peaches and it’s causing a lot of problems. I am using Quest 2 controllers through Link (which I saw from some posts is Ralf’s setup). Setting the controls to gamepad works in the Vorpx launch tutorial, all of the gestures work, but then the game does not recognize any anything I do on the Quest 2 controllers. Even the mouse doesn’t move when I push the joysticks.

If I switch the controls to keyboard and mouse in the Vorpx settings, then the game recognizes everything. But that actually creates its own problems. Most of the gestures still work in K/M mode, but the flick gesture does not reload and it’s impossible to throw grenades. Unfortunate, but I can work around that with key bindings.

The bigger problem is that it is impossible to bind all of the necessary controls onto the controllers because for some inexplicable reason Vorpx does not allow me to bind about half of buttons on the keyboard. You can hit them a million times and they just won’t register in the Vorpx key binding process. For example, G comes bound to the right shift trigger by default. But G is one of the many keys that cannot be bound for some reason. So if you bind something else to that trigger and override the G key binding that it starts with, there is no way to get that G back. After some trial and error, I kept the G where it started and then rebound G to something useful in the Cyberpunk key bindings. But it still wasn’t enough because there are a LOT of keys like G that are impossible to bind to the controller in Vorx, except they were never bound in the first place.

Then a bunch of the keys that are available to be bound to the controller in Vorpx (e.g., left/right ctrl, alts) just won’t do what they are bound to do in the Cyberpunk settings. I spent hours and hours trying every configuration to make it work, but I just barely ran out of available keys that Vorpx allows to be bound to the controller. And one of the most important key bindings is Z, which does multiple necessary things, including changing the current objective on the minimap. Of course, Vorpx does not allow Z to be bound to the controller. I tried reassigning the Z functions to other key bindings that were actually available, but none of those alternate bindings will toggle the current goal; it will always be Z, even if nothing is assigned to Z in the Cyberpunk key bindings.

In short, the keyboard and mouse mode in its current state is not really playable with Quest 2 controllers except if you are sitting in front of a keyboard. And I play standing, away from the keyboard, and strapped into a Kat Walk C treadmill. So I think I have no choice but to use gamepad mode instead of keyboard and mouse. But the problem is that I have tried everything I can think of (including uninstalling and reinstalling the Oculus program on my PC), and I still cannot get Cyberpunk to recognize any controller inputs when I set the Vorpx settings to gamepad mode.

I’m dying to jump into this mod because I have a new 4090 and the game looks stunning in max settings and psycho ray tracing, but I won’t play the game sitting down in front of a keyboard the entire time. Would appreciate any insight people may have about how to solve this controller problem. Thanks.

An issue with vorpx Im having very often is trying to make profiles for games and cycling through all kinds of other profiles with half of them hooking but not even having z3d working because depth buffer is plain.

Now if I was only trying vorpx I would think that “oh well I guess game cant work in 3d with any profile”, but trying some other unnamed software I can see that same problem persist – with everything on default game shows empty depth buffer, but a certain application has this amazing feature:

Basically you can cycle through all suspected data in memory that appears to be depth buffer and usually it just works if you switch through those suspects. Plus there are further sliders that can help fish depth buffer data out if it appears empty.

What Im trying to say is G3D in vorpx has cool shader adjustment menu as advanced setting, for Z3D we have nothing but I just know a working Z3D profile is often 1 step away and I dont want to use other software since vorpx is much better in so many aspects. It feels like such a wasted opportunity for Z3D, instead of trying a million other profiles it should be finding just 1 that hooks and then have some advanced options to fish out the depth buffer.

Im at a point where its starting to become an issue since more and more games I try to make work with simple z3d solution have none working.

I doubt this Stanley guy ever resolved his issue? I’m having it and I don’t think anyone else here seems to be understanding it? I’m using a gamepad, alt-F fps/refresh rate is 75-90 / second number is 90 just like my HMD is set to. Valve Index and using a wireless xbox 360 gamepad controller. Looking around and moving forward is fine but the moment I smooth turn with the stick left/right all hell breaks loose, it’s like it loses 3d randomly with certain frames and going close up to certain characters and during melee combat it loses randomly 3d and gets really disorienting, so something is wrong because I have some fantastic VR legs and that’s not playable by any standard.

OK, just found out what this thread was about. Sure wish I hadn’t installed that ‘profiles update.’ I didn’t realize it would delete my ability to play The Outer Worlds, which was one of my best experiences with vorpX to date (full VR mode!)

I have copious backups; so hopefully I’ll be able to recover my profile.

I do, however, understand that eventually Ralf may have to remove compatibility with certain games. There is no doubt that some game companies are there only for profit, not for the love of the gaming, and somehow think that a new market playing their games in VR is a downside, not an upside. Sure, they are wrong (I’ve purchased quite a few flat-games ONLY because they are known to work well in vorpX, for example), but that won’t change their minds.

He’s a very small developer, let’s demonstrate understanding and support, not anger. What’s worse; worrying that ignorant lawyers will threaten your livelihood? Or not being able to play a game *exactly* the way you prefer?

@matteo39: You can switch z-normal in the stand-alone, just access the menu and look for it, you’ll see it there.

That does bring me to another question however; Is there now compatibility with normal vorpX again? I ask because I sometimes just prefer to play on my 3D display, and historically I’ve switched back and forth between HMD and 3D display modes when playing vorpX titles.

    Morning folks,
It seems I figured it out, to a point lol.

So usually when crafting a profile I prefer the 1:1 VR setting as it just feels nicer in VR.
However, in this particular case I had to settle for the Widescreen 1 vr setting, but to be honest after playing it for a while it was just the best setting in this case.

The images I left yesterday with the weird lighting is now gone.
The lighting issue was being directly caused by the FOV setting in Vorpx, once switched off completely the lighting returned to normal. Even setting it to 0.01 caused a very slight lighting issue (same as images but much much less intrusive).
The game itself has a FOV setting, so pushed all the way to 110 gives plenty of depth.

The only problem I couldn’t seem to fix was some slight warping around the edges (a bit fish eye), tried changing resolutions, moving the games fov etc.
Couldn’t find the games FOV setting in it’s (engine/gameuser) ini files so I couldn’t bump it up to 120 (which seems to be a sweet-spot for my headset in most games)
The only thing that made it go away was switching to widescreen 1.
Not perfect, but I’ll call it a win, game is totally playable and quite smooth :)

Thanks for the replies chaps, very much appreciated.

I will upload the profile to the cloud once I’ve made sure there are no game-breaking glitches.

P.s. One thing I forgot to mention above is that some/most of the wall and floor textures look/feel strange, most noticeable when I first start playing, but goes away the longer I play.
My VR legs are pretty solid, but this might effect some folks.

    Hi folks,
Long time lurker here even longer user.
Ralf, you’re a genius and indeed the cause of me purchasing games I wouldn’t have even humored .. so thanks for that haha =)

    Anywho, ..
I have tried a plethora of profiles with the steam game Indutria and simply can not get any “3d depth” or “FOV” to work at all. There are a few profiles that give the geometry options but the FOV slider doesn’t change the image.

I have read on reddit and YT that either Half-Life 2 or the Bioshock Infinite works but I couldn’t get HL2 to hook at all and Bioshock profile doesn’t exist anymore so no joy there.
I have also tried Control, Medieval Dynasty (or something like that), Get Even, A Hat in Time, Ace Combat, … well lets just say I have tried a few lol.

Has anyone played this game at all and can help a poor guy out, no hair left to pull out.
Or anyone have an Unreal 4 profile I can try with ?

I wouldn’t normally beg like this but I don’t really want to go through every profile (although I will if I have too lmao).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So i’ve been using vorpX for a few weeks, and at the moment it can be summed up to 30% fun experience, 70% problem solving/game crashing/reinstalling/trying whatever i can try to get it working. I’m at a point where i feel i spent WAY too much time trying to keep it working, relative to the time i actually enjoyed my lil virtual world. Basically i just want to get this working, since when i does, it is a lot of fun, but i am really close to packing my optimism in. (i do want to state i am no tech wiz, im sure many of the issues could be rooted in my own doing/not doing, but i really feel i put the effort and time in to try all i could think of..)

I have had many different issues to get it started in the first place (game would crash before loading at all). this was sorted by reinstalling FS22.

then i updated to latest nvidia drivers, after which vorpx stopped working again (crashes before startup, not solved by fs22-reinstall). had to manually install oooold drivers, and got it working again. played for several days without major issues.

then installed a w11 update after being prompted, which again caused vorpx to stop working. tried reinstalling fs22, changed to different vorpx profiles etc, no luck. i was able to load an fs22 map, but it froze after a few seconds – game crash. was one time able to load a different map, which made me think of possible performance issues (heavy loads on the other map). but this didnt work either after.

tried installing the latest nvidia drivers, which actually made it work!?…of course after several complete reinstalls of fs22 in between.

since the image looked wonky/askew, i made a few settings adjustments in the in-game vorpx settings, restarted fs22 as per the instructions, and was not able to start the game once more (load screen shows, but crashes immediately). so what now? another fs22 reinstall? some old nvidia drivers again? rollback w11?

    ———————–

I left out a lot of tweaking/reinstalling/fiddling in between, there has been days of work with this, reading forum posts, instructions etc etc. from my perspective (which im sure is incorrect), vorpX seem to work one moment, causing crashes/forcing reinstall the next, and if that will solve issues seem purely on chance. i know this post does not include a lot of hard info on my system/settings etc. but i really couldn’t tell what anyone would need to help sort this out. so please guide me, i will happily provide further info. i REALLY hope i won’t just give up being disappointed with the whole thing, regretting my purchase, i just want this thing to work!

(i did read whatever i could find on this forum and elsewhere, instructions etc. i did have it working for several days, in between periods of mess..)

    appreciate any assistance, Magnus
