There is now a profile for diablo 4 with depth 3d with addon.

Where I can find this profile, I found a post by Blueskydefender but no idea where it is?
Second problem is that while reshade works on flatscreen with diablo but when windows mixed reality portal is open reshade won´t hook to diablo.

I tested couple of other games and did not have this problem there.

About that magenta thing, sometimes when I switched to performance mode the colours could get messed up.

just to be really specific so i can get help:

    start windows wmr portal

wmr portal loads then reports good then headset displays wmr home place.
right click vorpx icon in bottom right of screen using mouse and real physical monitor .
select start vorpx desktopview, left click using mouse.
the menu you get by right-clicking on the vorpx disappears, as you would expect, then nothing else happens.
there is no difference in the headset display of wmr portal home place.
it worked with the nonbeta version so yes obviously i have the microsoft store “openxr for wmr” installed.

so no matter how many times i try to start the desktopview it does not open.
normal vorpx through attachment continues to work with games that have profiles though.

for additional info please check my original post

Hi, thanks for replying. I’ve tried your profiles! Thanks for publishing them!

Sadly I can only connect the Pico 4 via virtual desktop. And I have to use Vorpx in steam VR mode.

I can run HL on medium without too much trouble. My CPU does shoot up to 86% when the shaders are loading though.

It’s great to hear that your profiles are working for you. I’ll give them another try. Would you recommend the beta version of your profile or the original?

I just assumed it was a dx12 issue, but I’ll rummage through my library and find something I can test with. And I’ll recheck my background applications for conflicts. I’m a beginner at this so I guess I just thought that if Vorpx could hook portal 2 it meant there were no global conflicts – but perhaps that’s underestimating the impact of alternative versions of DX.

Tbf, I’m wondering if the issue is that the game is taking too much of the CPU’s power and depriving Vorpx causing the failure.

    Hi,

I’m new to Vorpx. I’ve managed to get it working for Portal 2, which is great.

I’m using a Pico 4 with virtual desktop and a windows 11 laptop.

Now I’m trying to get Vorpx to hook Hogwarts Legacy.

I’ve downloaded the beta, but I can’t seem to get the game to hook. I’ve tried the 3x cloud profiles available for the game. I’ve also tried a couple that are unreal engine 4/dx12 only too. I’ve been setting the file as the HogwartsLegacy.exe in the win64 subfolder of the installation directory. Is that the right one? Or should it be the steamlink desktop one?

I’ve tried installing hook helpers and alternative hooking and that still doesn’t work.

The logs seem to say there’s an error setting fov as there’s no hmd. But even if I try to pre-launch SteamVR the process still fails.

I’ve been through the trouble shooting and don’t appear to have any conflicting programs running.

I read in a different post something about letting the shaders load before attaching vorpx but I’m not sure how to do that?

And am I missing a process step here? Should I be loading up the Vorpx desktop monitor and launching the game via that rather than via virtual desktop?

    Any ideas?

    Hello everyone,

Newer user here but I started using vorpx with portal 2. Very crisp, looked great and intuitive.

When I moved to dying light 2, no matter what I do for settings, I can’t get the game to look crisp at all. Up close (within say 10 feet in game) things look good, but past 10 feet, the trees look like a game from 1998.

I have messed with all in game settings (from low to high), and messed with vorpx menu settings. I still get great frames with everything cranked to the max. I can get vorpx quality settings up to ‘phenomenal’, while it says ultra ‘cannot be done on my pc’. I have added all ‘wide custom resolutions’ through nvidia settings.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    My setup:

    I7 13700k
    Rtx 4090
    32 gig 6000hz ddr5
    Pimax 8kx

Thank you for the additional tips. Still trying to figure out why some games aren’t displaying properly. So far Need4Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered and Batman Arkham Origins worked first try.

Dead Space, Alan Wake, Black Mesa, Left4Dead2, Portal 2 all have Black screen on hook-in. I’ve tried numerous profiles (official Vorpx and users’) to no avail. Even though the Vorpx version number appears, the del key doesn’t let me see the Vorpx-menu.

I’ll also say, only Left4Dead2 & Black Mesa appear in my “restore” profile settings section of the Vorpx configuration window, even though I have run all these games already. Is that odd behavior or do some profiles get stored somewhere else? Do I need to do anything manually if I’m importing multiple profiles for the same game? (Or do they just automatically overwrite the last applied?)

I appreciate any assistance though! Forgive my noob questions.. I’ve been tinkering but I only a couple hours a night, late. Hopefully I’ll be playing *something* by Halloween

I am having an issue getting Vorpx to display 3D signal on my Panasonic 3D TV.

I read some posts on this forum of people using Vorpx to play games on their 3dtv’s. Those posts are now years old, and I’m likely in minority of people still using one. But, I’ve got a 1080p 3d with great image quality so I wanted to see if I could get it up and running with Vorpx.

I selected Generic 3dtv in Devices, and tried both “use windows default” or selecting my tv directly, but when hooking into 3 different games (Left4Dead2, Black Mesa, Portal 2) all I get is a black screen with a diagonal shader across the entire screen. I CAN see the Vorpx version number watermark in lower left of screen and I can hear the game running, but the image isn’t showing up properly on screen.

The few videos available referencing use of Vorpx with a 3DTV already show the game hooked in and running in SBS (side-by-side image) 3D format… I’m not getting even that far.

Also of note, the Del key to show Vorpx menu does not appear with the screen blacked out like that.

Can anyone advise on why I maybe running into this issue?

Hello, I recently started using Vorpx. I’m using a Meta Quest 2 and connecting to my PC wirelessly via Air Link. I’m finding that after performing a DirectVR scan in any game I immediately begin seeing high latency afterwards. By high latency I mean that I the game begins stuttery and when I look around by moving my head I see black in the parts of the screen that hadn’t already been rendered and it takes about two or three seconds to catch up and render.

I believe that this is high latency – in terms of the connection between PC and headset – because the FPS counter still shows 120fps even while experiencing this. The game I’ve tried are older, low spec games like Half-Life 2, Portal and Oblivion. My specs are:

    GeForce RTX 3060
    Ryzen 5600x
    32GB RAM

I understand that DirectVR as well as using VR in general can hit performance but I’d still expect my PC to very comfortably be able to run games like Half-Life 2 and Oblivion and the FPS counter backs me up on that.

Ordinarily I don’t have latency issues while using Air Link. I’m running on an 867Mbps local network with both the VR headset and PC close to the router and I’m able to play native VR games using Air Link with a fixed 200mbps bit rate and don’t have any issues with latency or image quality. This issue only occurs while using vorpx and only while using DirectVR.

Does anybody have any ideas for what the issue could be and how I might resolve it? Thank you in advance.

The mod idea sounds good, I’ll explore how much effort that would take.

The workaround I described above works well though for most portals and for the ones where the glitch makes the game too difficult you can temporarily disable DirectVR:

you can deal with the matter by releasing the forward button whenever you enter a portal. That way you come to a halt on the other side and can reorient if necessary. Works well for the vast majority of portals, except one or the other situation towards the end, where you might want to disable DirectVR temporarily (ALT+B per default).

Ever make any progress on this?

If not, I maybe had a thought and no clue if it would work this way or not. Maybe make a companion mod for portal 2 that would do it?

    That doesn’t sound good.

First please try to run the game windowed. Sometimes that can help with issues like that.

    Secondly, just in case:

Please make sure that the WMR runtime is set as your system’s OpenXR runtime (the WMR portal complains if it isn’t) and that vorpX is setup to use OpenXR. You can change that in the config app on the ‘General’ page. Do not use SteamVR with WMR headsets and DO NOT let SteamVR make itself your system’s OpenXR runtime. That is counterproductive with WMR headsets, which come with a native OpenXR runtime.

    Q.U.B.E Directors Cut (G3D)

Ideal Game for VorpX, reminding abit on Portal somehow. You can play any mode, but FUll VR requires FOV Enhancement (VorpX Menu) set to around 1.00. (Note: PCGW FOV hacks dont seem to work on the current version)

    – Optimized for Cinema Modes
    – Full VR w Headtracking available
    – Full VR requires FOV Enhancement set to 1.00
    – Profile available at the cloud

Hint: The game is currently 69% OFF Here
